2 lbs beef
4 carrots
3 tbsp spicy beef stew paste
6 clove garlic
6 shallots
4 star anise
3 cinnamon stick
1/2 spiced annatio paste (package) or 3 large chili peppers
2 lemongrass
7 lime leaves
1 small piece galangal
2 tbsp chicken powder
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp fish sauce
