I totally feel like a upgrading the front end innercooler is a must with these heat soaking is real if you live anywhere where your summers get 90+ you will feel that soak very quickly

Just finished tuning, wound up at 400WHP, and still think the car is wholly worth it stock. Don't get me wrong, it feels like a BEAST now and drastically different from where it started, but where it started was still thrilling, eye-catching, and special. Lots of people (mostly Euro people) don't modify it at all. Plenty of people in RS forums & groups who drive it as a track toy don't even do power mods, they just upgrade the big suspension elements and get a tune for like +20WHP. It just plays so well with whatever you want to do to it, even if that means doing nothing.
It may sound weird, but this has been my dream car since it was announced back in 2014. So, to me, even if I didn't have a dime to spend on mods, I'd still be over the moon with it because it has absolutely fulfilled and exceeded my expectations.

What all did you do to get 400 whp??

    • @electricdoor

@@padenvotaw6105 All you absolutely need for 400WHP on this platform is an air filter, downpipe OR catback, and E30 tune. Some tuners won't go that far without a WGA, which is wise if you see how crappy the stock one is in Cam's other videos.
I've done all that, plus a BOV to avoid the issue some (not many) experience where the stock one won't hold the 26PSI necessary to get to 400WHP and 4-port aux fuel for full E85 in preparation for bigger power after I build the engine. Lots of other stuff was done, too.

My buddy bought one with the head gasket fixed and 2 years later he did a catless pipe and the waste gate actuator along with a custom tune and 4 months later his engine threw two rods. This guy knows his stuff. Also a friend of his had an RS also that overboosted and blew up the engine.

Focus RS is one of those cars that you should probably keep very minor on the mods, besides a few aesthetic things.
Something like a Focus/Fiesta ST on the other hand, I can say is more a car I would heavily modify.

      @Sherwood.Photography Рік тому +1

I would honestly say the opposite. I’m going down the very minor aesthetic changes and more power/handling mods. It’s a heavy car and for sure needs a tune to wake it up.

@@Sherwood.Photographyi agree, the RS also has AWD which the st didn’t so why wouldn’t you mod the RS tbh

    • @UGFluffyTurtle

@@abdielpedraza4149 Heavily modifying the ST makes up for its FWD. Getting a Quaife Diff is pricy, but I've heard it's definitely worth it. Same with stiffening the suspension. I spent a ton of money on mods and I'm still below MSRP for the RS. Only thing I need to get the same horsepower at this point would be a bigger turbo and a proper tune.
If you get deep into it, like I did, you'd find that not only are the part prices more affordable with the same/better quality, but the ST community support is huge.

I own a blue nitrous 2017. I saw another youtuber refer to it as a "drivers csr". This car is super fun to drive 4:07 completely stock. I was looking for something unique, awd, fast and fun and this car checked all the boxes for me. Great vids

I’ve daily driven mine for 5 years now and it still puts a smile on my face. But I will say at 3500lbs it definitely needs a tune to waken it up a bit on the highway.

Yeah I've never seen a 10-second ticket before (people say they've done it, though?) but we don't buy this as a straight-line car. Plus, even as a street car, people's reactions to gapping a stock Coyote - even though that's not THAT fast - are still hilarious cuz no one sees these things coming.

The RS is fun but my 2016 ST wagon in stealth grey is so much more practical, i have completed the whole intake system including the following
      - full Mountune RS intake -stage 2 Airtec intercooler. including aluminium 2.5" boostpipes.
      -Airtec RMM.
      -Mountune RS breather plate.
-Mountune cast manifold, customised with a vaccum hose for a true vaccum source
      - GFB DVX valve
-xenon conversion to LED including dynamic mirror indicators, LED indicators front and rear, reverse and foglights front and back.
      -Carbon steering wheel
      - custom ST floormats
      Next up will be a
      -carbon shift knob

      -solid shifter cable bushings
      -bonnet struts
