Building & Riding a Gnarly Teeter Totter
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 сер 2020
- Today, we'll build Berm Peak's very first teeter totter, and connect the rock garden to the skinny Elm'r Fudd bridge. This mountain bike trail is now packed with back to back features, that you need to be seriously well rounded to clean. It'll be interesting to show others this line!

It’s strangely satisfying to watch Seth build stuff
you couldn't have made me realize my life more
That's the whole reason why I watch his videos, it's satisfying to watch him build stuff, I don't even ride bikes 😂
josh i ride a lil but its just nice to see someone else have fun
yes
almost therapeutic
I love how, for Seth, an interruption is a stretch of dirt without wooden features on the path lol, very nice
No more trains on this trail...
It definitely shows how mountain biking has changed! But hey, if I could build my own trails I'd do them my way too!

@@KS-nm6rt you still can but just have 5o leave a 5 second gap
Could you build a feature where you jump over water or something like that,
Love your vids keep it up
Feels pretty cool on the slowest part of the trail to launch up, take a breath, and then shoot back down at speed... still, I think we can make this feature higher octane. Check back next month.
you should huck to flat on it
I always try and guess what Seth is going to post each week but I never get it right because it’s always something different but kinda the same
That's the other channel, but you're right.
This week a teeter totter, next week a tilt-a-whirl! 🤣
@Tuukka Silventoinen a bit different, but King of the same
I love how Seth says he’s gonna take it easy over the pandemic and yet he builds the scariest features
They re scary but pretty low consequence
@@lennilevela6342 His 'taking it easy' isn't the same as ours. Don't forget that Seth is pretty skilled

Wow, this was the last video I watched on Seth’s Bike Hacks. I’m not sure how to feel.

@@bananasstuff3344 ah yes, I remember the good ol days as a kid playing around an active volcano with my friends, sure it was dangerous but we had fun. Kids these days will never know such joy, they've become too soft.
Yeh it's so true. And sad. People are to soft These days. And I'm saying this as a 17 yo not s boomer. also NZ has awesome playgrounds. They have full on zip lines and one of em had this giant, spinning net tube thing. I wish I had stuff like that when I was younger in the US

just watching the new dog makes me cry a bit, we miss you Drama!
Finally able to see the full video. Haven't had cell service for 5 days. I live in Cedar Rapids,IA and we got hit with a derecho and we have been without power for going on 7 days as of the 16. Love your videos so glad I finally got to watch it. We have been helping neighbors and vice versa the whole time. Can't wait to ride again. Thank you for the videos man.

Great job! One of the best things I've learned was how to build and install heavy objects by myself doing exactly what you did. The hardest part is learning to skip beast mode from the beginning and spend that 30 seconds thinking of a way to help yourself.
Loved the music from the Arkansas video (opening music on this video). Come on back, Northwoods and Cedar Glades has grown!
Dude, you have made me love mountain biking and I can't thank you enough.
Seth a year ago: We built a small wooden jump. It's fun!
Seth now: We built a 4 foot tall sketchy bike see-saw and we built a berm right before it because why the hell not.
no we built it like that because we dotn know how to build a flowy dh trail and we wanted to ruin ours by bringning you to a complete stop on the fastest section of our dh trail.
i look forward to watching when seth's 50 and see how much stuff he's built into this property!
@@MegaCharns It's the perfect place to have a feature that lowers speed as the natural progression is down left to the wooden feature that requires slower speed.
@@MegaCharns I think you're just a bit salty and jealous of Seth's yard. Top notch video as ever Seth, you're an inspiration to me and so many others.
It never ceases to amaze me when he can just hammer a 2x4 into the dirt. Here in Oklahoma the ground is *hard*. You can't even drive a sharpened t-post into the ground that easily.
I'm super jealous because I've got to dig holes for fenceposts tomorrow.

Dang, I wish playgrounds were like that when I was in Elementary...
Same
Our local river park had a 4 story high "Robot" that was hollow inside and had a huge straight slide from near the top. If it had rained it also had a big puddle at the bottom.
@Woutube Yatcher nice
My elementary playground was just nothing but tarmac and a bench

Seth u need a line around the teeter because what if two people are going at once it takes too long to return to the ground

That's what I was thinking 😂
Seths editing is so good I could watch a audio book from him and would love it. He is my inspiration

Johnny D yes I know..... kinda annoying.
how do you watch an audio book?
Emmmm how can you watch an audio book
Another sick addition, that trail is looking awesome!
Absolutely loved this! In the UK we call these rides in the kids playground, a seesaw! In the video of the kids powering the ride with a moped/scooter, we call that a roundabout!
For future video's, maybe see what the max speed riding up the teeter totter is before jumping off the end? Or, trying to find out if you can spin up a roundabout with an e MTB?
Love the trail also, but hopefully some will be kept as natural, so the kids watching, can see what it was like for us old boys in the 80's!
Seth: "I'm bracing with blocks, to keep this thing as sturdy and lightweight as possible".
Also Seth: "This thing's not light".
Best freaking you-tuber there is.

Seth: spends 30 minutes trying to put the teeter in place
Also Seth: puts temporary blocks that help him get the job done in 5
I know the struggle, being 3 apples high myself. Lol.

Really cool addition Seth! Imagine how high it would seem coming down the other side if it was facing a steep grade Downhill!
Just binge watched all the berm peak videos. My wife and I recently bought 9.5 acres of property, complete with hills ravines and creek beds. We were already cutting in nature trails for the 5kids and us to walk. I've now got the idea to route a mb trail next to it.

Seth's bike hacks doesn't do that. Your getting confused with another person berm peak express
@@necros1855 i know
I was waiting for it!
I think he should put more wait on the one end so if there’s more people riding it can come back down quicker
Nah it would naturally sit that way so wouldn’t work if there was more weight on the end side
Oscar Coyle he means the uphill side
So you're saying he should put more weight on it to put less wait on it?
L Pharmer oh fairs read that wrong
If you made it too heavy then it would take a lot longer to fall when riding it. You'd have a really difficult stall to hold while you waited for it to descend. You might also have to ride further up to the end in order to even get it to fall. It would definitely increase the challenge overall.
Seth you should build a berm made entirely of stone and mortar to hold it together. I think it would make a cool feature on your amazing trail system. You got me into mountain biking! Thanks so much!
