I love For Whom the Bell Tolls! I’m always #teamreplay, so I can watch it slowly over a couple of days while I’m washing dishes and folding laundry. Thanks for doing these interviews. Always a good time and something great to listen to.
Tom is one big walking contradiction, and somehow it just absolutely works!! Love his authentic and chill vibe, this was such a fun chat. Also, now I really want that twilight video hahahah
Just found Mr. Orange lately an now knowing he is "local" to me I have to go and follow this gentleman. Also after seeing Mrs/Ms Wurts show up on a good handful of channels I am going to have to finally check her works!
#teamreplay It’s very nostalgic hearing Tom talking about taking AR tests in school after reading Harry Potter. I distinctly remember from the fifth grade reading The Order of the Phoenix and taking the AR test for it and scoring a ton of “AR points” and it was super exciting because it was during “March is Reading Month” so we were doing a competition with another classroom and my teacher told me that me scoring highly for that book won the competition for our classroom
The malazan wiki and the tor readalong chapter summaries were life savers when it came to understanding malazan chapters (still don’t really understand)
Great conversation guys! Love both of your channels. And you're both making me REALLY want to start Wars of Light and Shadow but man I just don't know of I have the time at the moment 😅😅
#teamreplay Great episode, really enjoyed it. I'm sure some of us could follow a video game discussion Brian. Janny Wurts talking about not leaving books on cliffhangers, for me that adds another reason to read her series. Video game ratings meaning very little is the exact thing which long turned me off ratings altogether, I doubt I will ever rate a book in that way, I'm glad someone else within the world has similar thoughts. Being a moments reader fits me so well, I've felt like I have struggled to define myself before when listening to being talking about being character readers or ideas.
@@BrianBell7 You'll dig it. Also, the great comics artist Wally Wood did a beautiful adaptation for the classic E.C. Comics line, either Weird Science, Weird Fantasy, or Weird Science Fantasy. The E.C. guys produced some gorgeous Bradbury adaptations in the 1950s, w/ the perfect artistic choices to illustrate.
Tom is way too cool! Thanks for hosting this chat, Brian!
I think there's a great reason his channel is experiencing such sudden growth! He's terrific!
New Cult of Orange member here. Thanks to BellTube for the introduction.
I love it!
Also an epic meal time reference…. So sick
A well timed Orange joke was begging to be said. I merely gave the people what they wanted.
Banned! Lmao!

Excellent plan on both counts!!
Didn't expect an epic meal time reference in 2024. 😂Haven't watched their channel in over a decade.
You know you will find the obscure references over here!

Glad you got the good nostalgia!
#teamreplay as always great job guys !
Thanks! Glad you liked it!

I’ll definitely be needing that after I finish book 4 and break for a while. Thank you!

I'm not starting until January, with John at Talking Story... so if you think you might have more time then, join along!
@@BrianBell7 I would love to but we shall have to see as we get closer!

It was a terrific insight on Tom's part to bring up "moments" reader. I'll have to do a gaming talk and get Mike and Navo on!
I’ve not read any Stephen King and I don’t like horror, but I do want to read Billy Summers. Great interview
Thanks so much for the nice words!
RE: classic science fiction w/out human characters. Have you read Ray Bradbury's short story, "There Will Come Soft Rains"?
I haven't, but I can check it out!
