After hearing about Bruce’s health problems I had to go back and watch all the moonlighting episodes. Gosh, so many memories from that time and both leads were beautiful. Sad to see so much time has passed. Wishing both Bruce & Cybil the best.
No conversation in 30 years, that makes me so sad. They were such brilliant actors and made such a fantastic show. I hope they talk more since The Roast Of Bruce Willis.
@@jamesroberts1810 2014 was before the roast. Maybe they made up after the roast and are in speaking term again? We can only hope they got to patch things up before Bruce Willis' aphasia diagnosis.
Ikr..sad indeed..I remember as a kid trying to stay up on Tues and Thurs nights trying to watch moonlighting..this show made me and my friends wanna movie to LA !! Limos, nightlife, palm trees, sexy women, 24 diners.. etc mad memories indeed
Re-watched it recently! Such great fun! Cybil was just the right spice and Bruce! A triple threat! He deserved a mega singing role in something similar to Chicago in his career. I treasure his “odd” roles, especially the one in Death Becomes Her.
I was 11 years old in 1987 when I first started getting glimpses of the show. A year later DIE HARD came out and Bruce became an instant hero. I ended up watching it 56 times by the summer of '89! Don't laugh... I was 13 😉
The first three years of Moonlight is some of the best classic tv ever. I put it up their with The Sopranos, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, & I Love Lucy. The legendary chemistry between Bruce & Cybil is still talked about today. Every network executive & showrunner are constantly looking for a romantic pairing that rivals Bruce & Cybil.
Moonlighting was and is in my analysis several shows in one. It was a screwball comedy mixed with a romantic comedy that was a detective show and a one hour drama within the parameters of a satiric parody.
This show was great for the first 3.5 years but the moment Mark Harmon showed up and went down hill. Didn't help that Cybil looked very bad during and after her pregnancy.
I don't think putting the two lead together was the main problem. Due to circumstances on set and the loss of Glenn Gordon Caron, the writers didn't really give the couple a fair chance as a romantic couple. Half of season 4 the duo were completely separated by distance and then when they reunited the characters hurt each other too much and at some point were darn right nasty to each other. By that time, Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis couldn't stand each other and didn't want to be near each other for long periods of time. There were just too many problems on set for the production to continue writing the duo with the same dynamic. I think they could have kept the romantic couple interesting if the actors were willing to work with each other, alas that was not the case.
Loved that show!!!

Nice, absolutely fell in love with MOONLIGHTING. I can see how many ways it’s influenced shows that followed even three plus decades later

It was a great show.
Nothing since has been able to match it.

Forgot to mention that the late great Al Jerreau
Could make it longer, and put an add in the middle

How can they get residuals? The show is never shown on TV or cable anymore?
Probably overseas. Online streaming?
Looks like rhe movie wont be made now.
Yeah, so sad.
The writers ruined this show characters don't ruin themselves. They should have waited till last season to put David&Maddie together.

True. The writers wrote terrible stories for them after she went to Chicago and then had her marry a stranger. Pffff ! Just dumb.
