I was burned on 65% of my body from a plane crash. Skin grafts lack hair follicles and sweat glands, so my body is unable to regulate temperature. Luckily, I live in a cold weather climate. Being in a sauna like this is a literal death sentence for me. I would overheat, pass out, and die in a matter of minutes inside that torture chamber.
Mate, you’ve lived through my absolute worst nightmare - a bloody plane crash! That’s the stuff that keeps me grounded (literally). Planes & I don’t get along, which is why I’m spending Chrissy on the ground, solo. But can I just say - the fact you survived something that intense & walked away with scars that tell such a fascinating story is incredible. I’ve always LOVED scars - they’re like maps of where you’ve been, what you’ve faced & how you’ve conquered. And yours? They’ve got to be the most powerful & intense story I’ve ever heard. You’re a bloody legend for wearing them with pride. Cheers mate 🍻😁🇦🇺 😘😘😘 ❤️❤️❤️
Hey bro I'm sorry that happened to you. Just keep pushing, I know it's hard to keep stretching that scar tissue - had a friend who got burned but he is cool AF still.
@@idkman3210 What are u talking about? I am talking about saunas but you must be smoking something to be this butt hurt about a youtube comment if you say that finnish people cant go outside while its summer
He wasnt even any higher temps than 90 that was only 76°c you could be there for like an hour no problem i just came from my sauna at home and My little brothers (9 and 12 years old) were there with me for an hour the sauna was i think 80°c But i love the 4am christmas eve sauna every year
Having very flushed skin actually helps you withstand higher temperatures for longer there was a documentary about the guy who withstood the highest sauna temperatures on record and his skin would flush very red
I worked in aluminum die cast for 20 years. It would typically reach 150 degrees ambient air temperature at the furnace, where I stood for 10 hours every day.
Take a drink with you to the sauna. 40 minutes in 170 is nothing. Just a beginning of a chill weekend with the boys in Finland. We get it, it might be a little scary for yall, but it's really nothing. Just have to prepare.
As a finnish guy in chistmas eve just came from a 95°c sauna and was there for a nice half an hour (had like 2 min breaks for snow bc im at lapland rn i hate the bleeding from snow But its relaxing) :D
170F is 76Celsius. That is nothing. Even as a beginner you can likely sit in there for an hour, if the air is dry. Typically for the traditional finnish sauna, what makes the sauna experience hot is the water that gets evaporated on the oven in a sauna session. These sessions typically last 15 minutes and the base temp is already about 195 F.
Honestly, I could be wrong, but I think it's at least partly due to the lighting in the sauna also. The skin on his face is not nearly as flushed as the rest of his skin so I feel like it has a lot to do with the lighting.
Many years ago in college we had a gem of an indoor field house sports complex. They had a sauna with three steps to sit on. I was the only woman that was frequenting it regularly. The guys were like whoa, but I was respectful and sweated with the rest. We never said much. After awhile I built endurance and also moved from the bottom step to the middle one, aka, warmer. 20 minutes or so in there, get a cool shower and you felt so good. The fellow in this video looks very experienced, has built endurance and knows what he’s getting into. He looks more like he’s at the end of the session… it took me months of dedication to sessions to build up to 20 minutes and staying on the second step. I was healthy and fit and able to do it. As long as the fellow has no health problems, hope he enjoys it.
Soo... 140-170 is NORMAL? I'm not European, I'm an American up north and the highest I get is like 110 degrees, this guy is dead, he just doesn't know it.
For a sauna, 160 °F is sort of minimum and 175 °C normal. My grandparents had a huge sauna at the end of a former barn, and it was heated to 230 °F regularly, I remember it once been at 275 °F (indicated). You could be even there easily for 20 to 30 minutes. Smaller sauna less temperature. Sauna endurance is more about air circulation than anything else. Hot moist air has significantly less oxygen in it.
You're weak as FUCK, only 110°f? That's literally NOTHING, im Finnish and i've been in warmer Saunas than he's in since i was a damn kid, he's not dying
Would I survive in that sauna? Mate, I’ve been living in Australia where the sun’s on a permanent bender! We don’t even get a proper winter - it's just slightly less aggressive than summer. And don’t get me started on toweling off after a shower; it’s like trying to dry yourself in a steam room. So yeah, bring on your so-called 'sauna': - It’s just another day Down Under! 😂🇦🇺
My Bangladeshi mate cud sit in a 55degC sauna all day, I was done after 10-15, he wud still be in there when I was packing up leaving. For him it was like a normal day back home
That reminds of the woman who died after her victory in the Sauna Competition just to avoid Hell Week since 1000 Ways to Die episode, "Death: The New Black" in the secondary segment, "Who Fart-Dead"...
The sauna, i often go to has 90°C or around 180°F if i'm not wrong. Quite common temp here in European saunas. In siberia, sweden and finland, people jump into ice water before going to sauna. That's extreme. //edited: It's 194°F, had to google check it
I have dysautonomia, and my body sometimes has trouble with temperature regulation. I can really only tolerate a few minutes in a sauna at one time. I'd probably need to go to the hospital if I stayed in a sauna for 40 minutes.
At camp we would reach 100°c Once my grandfather asked my dad to keep stoking the first because grandpa wanted a late steam. Well. 4 hours later my grandfather opened the door the the sauna and in his words like walking into an oven. All his hair and beard were singed and did get minor burns..
Ok for some reason when I saw this first thing in the morning I thought he was implying he was using the sauna to recover from delivering presents all night…
