So sad to see their last words.. and although they shouldn’t have let the kids fly the plane, I still can’t imagine the fear they felt in that last moment, knowing they could do nothing left.
@@michaeldebidart Eastern Airlines Flight 401 suffered similar fate but this time the Captain accidentally bumped the yoke unknowingly disabling the autopilot without any indications and warnings until later the first officer noticed the altitude dropping quick and that's when it was too late for them to recover.
Flight safety tip #1. DO NOT fly with aeroflot. Ever loss I've ever heard of one of their plans has been because of the st least one of the flight crew doing something really stupid.
@@drhacknslashzombietimelord6768 you're most likely right and I've confused the accidents. I completely agree with you about never flying aeroflot, they have a seriously worrying track record.
I just have to love how everyone critizises the Pilot here with out mentioning the bad auto pilot design even once. Not only that it never gave out an audible alarm, but also the fact that the exact same thing happened with out kits involved a bit earlyer with an other aircraft. Same autopilot issue.
thats true. the auto-pilot also got them out a flat spin, but the pilots couldnt even save the plane after that. ( and thats after they flew back up into the sky ) .
for context, Aeroflot Flight 593 was a scheduled passenger flight from Moscow, Russia, to Hong Kong that tragically crashed on March 23, 1994, in the Kuznetsk Alatau mountain range in Siberia. All 75 people on board, including crew members and passengers, were killed. The incident became infamous due to the unusual circumstances leading to the crash. Key Details of the Crash: Aircraft: The flight was operated by an Aeroflot Airbus A310. Flight Crew: The flight was being operated by a highly trained and experienced crew. However, their actions during the flight contributed to the disaster. Cause of the Crash: The root cause of the crash was pilot error but under extraordinary conditions: The captain, Yaroslav Kudrinsky, allowed his two children into the cockpit, which was not uncommon in that era. At one point, his 15-year-old son, Eldar, was allowed to sit in the captain's seat and operate the controls. While Eldar was seated in the pilot's seat, he unintentionally deactivated the autopilot’s lateral control (yaw control), causing the plane to gradually veer off course. Neither the crew nor Eldar realized this until the aircraft entered a dangerous position. Loss of Control: The autopilot’s partial disengagement caused the aircraft to enter a steep bank and stall. The crew struggled to regain control, but the plane ultimately crashed into the mountains. Aftermath: The incident led to widespread criticism of Aeroflot’s cockpit procedures and safety culture at the time. It also highlighted the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols and restrictions on unauthorized individuals in cockpits. Aeroflot Flight 593 remains a tragic example of how seemingly small deviations from standard operating procedures can lead to catastrophic outcomes.
Mentour Pilot has an *excellent* video on this tragedy. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more. All of his videos are extremely well made and as a former pilot himself he is often able to add his own insight. S tier channel.
The flight was aeroflot 593. The Plane was the A310 Aeroflot 593 took off from Moscow heading to Hong Kong. The cpatian made the worst mistake after he illegaly gave the permission to enter the cabin and the boy accidentaly made the plane unstable resulting into the crash and no one on the Aeroflot 593 survived
This is so stupid What do you expect as a pilot to let a 13 year old native boy to control the plane knowing that people are there and could potentially lose their lives.
It started going wrong when someone thought that it was a good idea to make a silent critical alarm. It continued when he thought letting some untrained kids even get near it
Take, for example, this animation of Aeroflot Flight 593. Before the animation begins, you already know how things will play out-they are already predetermined. I already know the plane will start losing control and facing complications before the animation begins. What would we need to edit in order to change how things play out in the animation? If it’s not called a script, what is the term for what we are editing to change the predetermined events within the animation?
After the captain put his daughter in his seat first when it came to his son there'd be cause for alarm as I understand it the children's uncle was also in the cabin talking with the first officer and captain and didn't notice the son disengaged the auto pilot at that moment there fate was sealed because as explained in this post when control was regained instead of fighting the plane for control just simply let go of the yoke and the plane would have corrected itself
Apart from the obvious, WHY wasn't the pilot, or first officer, familiar with the aircraft type? They did not know about the silent alarm, or the different ways an aircraft's AP could cede partial or total control of the aircraft to the pilots. Did they let both kids onto the flight controls at once? One seat, either the captain's or the 1st officer seat/controls should have been occupied by an adult. Unfortunately neither the captain or 1st officer were REAL adults.
