I was about 22 and got a DUI. I had to stay about 12 hours in jail. Got woke up for breakfast and seen sausage that looked like it had cancer. The gravy looked like white water. Needless to say I realized real quick I’m not that guy.

I was locked up with the Green River Killer (Gary Ridgway), Jeff Gilooley (Tanya Harding's husband), and The Barefoot Bandit (Colton Moore). I have a story about when I first met The Barefoot Bandit. Funny AF. If you ever want to have an interview with an ex-con from Oregon and Washington State, I got you. I gave the State 17 years of my adult life. I've been out almost 9 years and now I work as a counselor for a 90 day co-occurring treatment facility for men. Salute, Josh!

I have a bachelors degree in criminal Justice, worked in law enforcement, and worked in a jail and ended up getting caught up in a drug case. I’ve been out of prison for about a year and a half. August 6 2022 I got out from PADOC Max. Security Frackville.
I would love to be on your show D, and have a lot of stories to tell. I went from working with the police, working in a jail, to going to state prison for my first ever charge for 1-2 years. Please get ahold of me death, I’ve got a great stories about PA prison, especially Camp Hill and Frackville.

100% correct on how he explained the first time he got to E Block after reception for the first time. When they opened the double doors it felt like I was walking into hell. From the dim lights, all the smoke floating in the air, the loud noises & yelling from the inmates on both tiers as you walk thru to get your mattress, sheets & toilet paper and find your cell. IT WAS TRULY UNLIKE ANY EXPERIENCE IN LIFE💯

I spent a total of about 2 1/2 years in county and about 3 years upstate.. i went to gratersford as well but since I was over my minimum when i got sentenced i got classified there, I didn't have to go to Camp Hill to get classified, i got sent straight to my home jail once I got classified.. i got sent to Laurel Highlands which is about an hour or so away from Pittsburgh Pa and about 20 minutes from where the passengers of the plane faught the terrorist and crashed in a field

Awesome interview bro! Out of any juvenile joint, county jail or state prison, walking the tier in Graterford for the first time was an experience I’ll never forget. When you walk on the tier you can’t see the end. 800 inmates per block 2 tiers high, the bubble in the middle and a chow hall at the end. Only 8 phones per block. Wild open prison.

A lot of faces over the years, and many young. Saw this one guy go from looking 25 - 50+ in a year, with his legs rotting. Everyday I drove past him with his cup and he just deteriorated as the months went by.

Ive always thought what he said his experience was, i could never do drugs in jail or prison no way been to both and was active in addiction also couldnt imagine the anxiety and also knowing im not in my right mind. If your in prison you need your wits about you at all times i couldnt imagine man.

Same way in Wisconsin,if you get a PO warrant or any violations if you're in any county except Milwaukee county you go to prison while they sort shit out but doc is so over crowded Milwaukee built a prison facility downtown and you do your intake there and if revoked it can take 10 months to get you to a prison where you can move around.Staff shortages so bad my brother spent 4 months only getting out 2hours twice a week for showers and phone calls
