I did a similar build to the first one , except I use Lance with it. When you use the counterclaw you can reliably Recover 1-2 Frostcraft levels and also the Clutch claw attack, aswell as the connection with the monster deal stun damage with Punishing draw. So if you wanna meme-away with the counterclaw I can recommend this.
Finally, an old-school draw-charge greatsword build that isn't complete ass when compared with the overpowered shoulder-charge meta. Will definitely make use of the Frostfang stuff.
Draw playstyle is still ass because of how monsters function though. The days of head sniping are long gone unless it's on something basic like a Rathian
Used alpha arms and chest(Velk Essence on Safi GS) and gemmed the last point of Slugger and used a Stanima Drain 3 Charm. I was basically bullying a Tigrex to death, don't recall it ever getting a good shot in lol.
Honestly, before even seeing this video, I did a mix between the two. Gave my Safi GS Velkhana Essence and gave myself a MUCH better piece over one of the Velkhana pieces, allowing me to add slugger to the first set.
I did something similar to your frostcraft set, except I used the Alatreon arms and put the Velk bonus on the Safi GS, and I used a slugger charm instead of agitator. The Alatreon arms have +3 attack boost and better slots, so it gives a lot more room for other gems. Skills are almost identical to yours, except it maxes out health boost and divine blessing, has a second point in evade window, but loses one flinch free, which doesn't really matter anyway.
Silverbosche is my favorite weapon in the game right now. It does ungodly amounts of damage to enemies weak to ice. The way I have it set up, I have no need for agitator, as I already have 100% affinity Crit elem would be nice though...
Yea the agitator is mainly for the raw you can get affinity easily with quick draw I just like maxing it since the charm gives so much bang for your buck
if you play multiplayer, you want to use the elemental safi GS, instead of Blast GS, since its harder to build blast the more its procked. you also get some use out of the crit element, if you have at least one more blast weapon in your squad, this will do more damage.
Back in my day, we called this "Bye Bye Kaiser", because it was very effective vs old world Teostra. I imitated it in Icebrone and thank goodness this came out!
It's actually bai bai kaiser, because it used two torso up pieces and kaiser chest. The japanese name for the torso up skill contains the character "Bai".

ive been having loads of fun with stun longsword, running 3 set barioth and 2 set velk for punishing draw/slugger/crit element. using alatreon ls and dragon attack 6 you can do mad damage and with slugger 5 and the lt+x sheath attack I can consistently get at least 3/4 stuns every hunt. really affordable to put together too if you have 3 weakness exploit and 3 crit boost decos.
This set is at its best with an elemental GS. The draw slash has decent elemental damage (for a greatsword), Frostcraft boosts elemental damage well, and with full CritDraw, CritElement always procs. RageGaming did a similar build, and the Draksplitter he was showing off hit for 800+ on Frosty's head.
@@czproductions Yeah, although I used the Legiana SNS with Velkhana 4-piece and Damascus gloves. Never though I'd dig out my Draksplitter again after Safi and Kjarr stuff outclassed any build I could create. That said, AT Velkhana sooner rather than later would help more.
I put together a set using my raging brachy GS, 7 stack critical eye, 3 stack weakness exploit, 3 stack focus, and 3 stack critical boost. It’s a tail severing death machine.
I'm currently looking for mix sets to make. And a good one I'm looking at right now is Frostfang (Helm, arms, feet) G. Rath (chest, waist) That gives; Punishing Draw, Slugger Secret, Divine Blessing Secret. And that's before picking a weapon and Deco's
Glad to see punishing draw usable. I used it early into iceborne as I was crafting master rank armor and it was lots of fun! I prefer elemental GS for these builds though, because then crit element doesn't get wasted!
Using a Brach helm & chest B, Frostfang Arms A, (MR) Kulve Skirt & Pants A along with Challenger charm 5. Got AB, Agitator, PP, CE, CB, WE, HB, Focus 2, Slugger 2. Hella fun. My personal most powerful set so far. Enjoyed it a lot in hunts so far. Usually get one KO. Got 2 KO's in solo.
I think you can improve the first set by choosing a Safi elemental sword with one Velkhana awakening. Not only do you get to do extra elemental damage (which is not the focus, but it's nice to at least have that, even if you're not using a weakness) on every crit (which will be every draw attack). That means you also get a free piece of armor as well, which will have better skills and slots than Velkhana's armor. I'm thinking of the Garuga or Kulve legs, for example. I don't main GS, so I'm not sure if it would be that much better, but it definitely seems like a slight upgrade.
Btw, arent lowrank\highrank layered armor available today? I thought once ff barioth came out, we would also be able to wear Lr\Hr layered armor, i was so looking foward to this, plz, someone who knows plz hlp m, thnx
LR/HR layered armor has been available since early this year. Once you start collecting guiding land drops, you can forge the layered armors at the blacksmith. We are waiting on MR layered armors now and the first batch is supposed to drop with the Fall update.

For the first set, since it has Crit element innately thanks to the velkana set, wouldn’t it be more viable to grab any of the elemental GS’s? Not really sure how the numbers would crunch, but it sounds like it would do everything you would want.
I use a Frostcraft Punishing Draw set, but it's for element so I avoid the Attack and Challenger skills in favor of Slugger and Element Attack Up. Imo it's a little better than 1st set, you just have to make more GSs.
I made a set running 2 piece raging brachy, safi shattersplitter with teostra technique + 2 pieces of kaiser, and i think frostfang chest. Max crit draw, agi 7, masters touch, and punishing draw. Very fun set
Best is to have 1 piece of the armor for its punishing draw skill plus 3 pieces of velkhana armor and safi great sword with velkhana skill. U will have alot of jewel slots for slugger level 3 with quick draw and crit draw and so on
a decent alternative to focus is to run slugger level 3. It is harder to use, but if you are confident enough in your abilities it can be very effective.
Frostfang Helm = for the punishing draw and some critical eye Velkhana Chest,Gloves,Greaves, = for quick sheath, crit draw and crit elem... wait for it... Lunastra Waist = for some health boost and to counter the very poor fire resistance of the entire set (Shrieking waist if you dont care about getting totally burned) Safi GS (any of the 5 elements depending on your target) with Velk essence for frost craft and boosted elemental damage for better crit elem. . Deco priority would be evade extender OR charger.
my build. equip all rime, but the leg are frost greaves alpha and with atk V charm. remove focus but more focusing on more damage in single slash, like crit boost, attack boost, and elementaless.
as strange as it is, one of the ele GS would be better for this since you are are getting ele crit with the 2 set and Frostcraft 30% boost also works for elemental damage as well but not status
There where some sets before, very powerful... If you Clutch Claw, weapon not drawn, it counts as a drawattack and then you can get very high damage. Team Darkseid did a Video. With every shot around 600 or more damage. It's just boring always doing the claw attack

If you have good decos, you can actually make a better set than the Master's Touch + Agitator Secret set that everyone uses using Frostfang and Escadora pieces: Safi'Jiiva GS Frostfang B Damascus B Brachydium B Escadora A (B also works) Brachydium B Agitator V Charm Skills are: Attack Boost lvl7 Agitator lvl7 Critical Eye lvl7 Critical Boost lvl3 Weakness Exploit lvl3 Focus lvl3 Handicraft lvl4 Health Boost lvl3 Slinger Capacity lvl1 (to get another wallbang or fast charge after wallbang) Dragon Resist lvl3 (from Escadora piece by default) With Handicraft lvl4 you get 60 hits of Purple Sharpness with a Safi'Jiiva weapon having 2 Sharpness V, it's more than enough for the hunt. Despite this set not having Peak Performance, you get more DPS uptime on some monsters because of Punishing Draw.
I use similar build but with elemental gs(i know outrageous) but for efficiency purpose for the 4pcs velkhana it's good and it doesn't make any difference if you're not a speed runner
I doubt you'd ever get enough procs for it to be worthwhile beyond normal GSing. You may as well just trap spam and wall bang effectively if you want that sweet Mon downtime
got a feeling that the 1st set has higher dmg potential than the 2nd one when it comes to this playstyle. But that depends solely if you are only using the draw attack. The amount of stuns from slugger 5 is maybe one per hunt?
Yeah I made a decent GS build like this but HH uses that skill 100x better with a similar play style and buffs. Give it a go you will not be disappointed lol
I still had a Safi GS with the Velkhana set bonus on it, since that allowed you to use the regular Barioth armor to get Frostcraft + PunishDraw before Frostfang came out. With that you can swap out any of the Velkhana pieces from the first build (since the armor is kind of underwhelming outside of Frostcraft) and still get both set bonuses. This gives you a lot more options to play with.
Yeah probably if use elemental gs combined with velkhana crit ele set bonus, it could work, you have to aim your charge to the head though, thankfully alatreon as a ton of opening to smack his head off
If it wasn’t that big of a difference, then people wouldn’t be using it on any GS build. Using focus on other weapons that have charged attacks like bow or hammer would be pretty redundant because on those weapons there is barely any difference. But on a GS it is noticeable
Ok GS main here, you don't need the 3 focus with crit draw, you just need the 2. Also the 1st build is prolly the better build dmg wise, crit draw with velk is no joke, and now with punishing draw?? Super good. Tho I would go with the beta helmet instead of the alpha chest but to each there own.

@@bladechild2449 I had a lot of success with it against Alatreon, since both Frostcraft and CritElement help with the elemental DPS check.
Monsters no longer turns like the older games so draw charge only playstyle is obsolete (if you plan on not using shoulder bash TCS combo at all)
Critdraw has never been obsolete though. It's still recommended against monsters with small openings such as rajang.

I always make sure to use the assassin mantle, being able to run faster get you in possession, well, faster!
i've been playing super off-meta punish draw sets for a long time. frostfang barioth just lets me take the training weights off
The second set is pretty damn good for hammer mains as well, I'm gonna check that out for a spin.
I'll consider the velkana draw build set for long sword when they make the betas for it
I also only have 1 charger/vitality jewel but luckily i got 2 crit/vit jewels so i just switched them with 2 charger jewels and worked just the same.

Actually, Focus 3 is a trap (you gain 1 frame that you cannot exploit. Focus 2 already gives you the fastest charging time.

Every clutch claw attack is a draw attack. Wether your weapon is sheathed or not. But yeah people were messing with the injection hbg build back then
Safi sleep great sword with a Val augment and para on cat = pretty chill hunts now with stun on Draw attacks = Lazy Ass hunts....its great

Slinger Capacity lvl1 (to get another wallbang or fast charge after wallbang)

With Handicraft lvl4 you get 60 hits of Purple Sharpness with a Safi'Jiiva weapon having 2 Sharpness V, it's more than enough for the hunt. Despite this set not having Peak Performance, you get more DPS uptime on some monsters because of Punishing Draw.

I am using 3 piece frost fang and 2 part raging. It is for a brain damage long sword build using the special draw attacks.
I use 3 pcs Frostfang 2 pcs Velkana. The slugger+ is insane. But I'm not sure losing the Velkana 4pcs effect worth it.
Hoping for a great velkhana gamma armor set. deco slotwise at the very least.
I use similar build but with elemental gs(i know outrageous) but for efficiency purpose for the 4pcs velkhana it's good and it doesn't make any difference if you're not a speed runner
I doubt you'd ever get enough procs for it to be worthwhile beyond normal GSing. You may as well just trap spam and wall bang effectively if you want that sweet Mon downtime
Well it also increases draw attack damage on top of the stunning effect which is nice
got a feeling that the 1st set has higher dmg potential than the 2nd one when it comes to this playstyle. But that depends solely if you are only using the draw attack. The amount of stuns from slugger 5 is maybe one per hunt?

Yeah I made a decent GS build like this but HH uses that skill 100x better with a similar play style and buffs. Give it a go you will not be disappointed lol

I still had a Safi GS with the Velkhana set bonus on it, since that allowed you to use the regular Barioth armor to get Frostcraft + PunishDraw before Frostfang came out.
With that you can swap out any of the Velkhana pieces from the first build (since the armor is kind of underwhelming outside of Frostcraft) and still get both set bonuses. This gives you a lot more options to play with.
So you didnt use the skill critical draw? Is it just too bad to even consider?
The first build does use Crit Draw. The 2nd one has Weakness Exploit, Agitator, and Crit Eye, so there's not much need for Crit Draw.

Yeah probably if use elemental gs combined with velkhana crit ele set bonus, it could work, you have to aim your charge to the head though, thankfully alatreon as a ton of opening to smack his head off
I basically have both set's in one. 800dmg per hit and Slugger 3 is very fun to use 😍

If it wasn’t that big of a difference, then people wouldn’t be using it on any GS build. Using focus on other weapons that have charged attacks like bow or hammer would be pretty redundant because on those weapons there is barely any difference. But on a GS it is noticeable
Ok GS main here, you don't need the 3 focus with crit draw, you just need the 2. Also the 1st build is prolly the better build dmg wise, crit draw with velk is no joke, and now with punishing draw?? Super good. Tho I would go with the beta helmet instead of the alpha chest but to each there own.

not seeing how you got wex level 3 on the second set when you removed it for the challenger 4 deco.
Brachy legs give 2, and it has a tenderizer jewel on it.
@@happykraken9523 but he said you would put another challenger 4 deco in place of that tend/vit deco. which then would put wex at level 2. then as he was going down the skill info, he cuts right before he gets to wex but he says everything would be maxed out.

I used silver rath set and frost fang arms so I have a db build that kos so more dps.
Layer tour dual blades with chicken drumsticks. Stun mantle and slugger secret. Oof.
No attack jewel plus 4 but 11 regular attack jewels.

Oh but a question, if I sheath attack cancelled by 2 shoulder charge into TCS, do i get the Crit Draw?
