    I think that if you have big hands, and memorize every harmony in the last page, it coud be the easiest part from the etude. My opinion!

      @RoninsMusic  4 дні тому +4

      Last page is easy to memorize but I find the LH leaps down to G# while bringing out the first note of each beat, and the final arpeggio a bit challenging :D

      @@RoninsMusic yeah, the final arpeggio is hard. Every time i played it on luck.

    I love this format. Please do the same for the Chopin ballades

      Definitely gonna consider doing the ballades, although it'll be harder to rate the technical difficulty of the slower passages.

    As a clarinet player, calling any of this easy should be illegal and I bow to you

    It seems almost random how the difficulty is rated here. From my experience playing that, I think I'd color everything except for the last measure red...

      I also played this etude before, and while I agree that the piece as a whole is very difficult, I think some parts are definitely easier relative to some of the parts in the middle, where there’s 2 different voices in the right and left hand. But that’s just my opinion lol

    I feel the last page isn't as intimidating as it sounds. It's actually where I started the piece back when I played it. 0:45 is EASILY was the trickiest part for me at the time.
    This is fairly accurate though. Nice video!

    Having sufficient technique is key. Learned this at age 14 and at age 26, I revisited it and easily brought it to performance tempo in 2-3 days.

    This etude is good for practicing before playing the great Medtner's Night wind sonata!

    Dude, you are a legend. If you haven't already, please make one for Op. 25 No. 11 (Winter Wind) and Op. 10 No. 1 (Waterfall)
    I'm subscribing. You are INSANELY UNDERRATED, and you are the savior for pianists like me who want to play the piano but don't have one but wish to play Chopin's insane études
    I'm going to buy a piano sometime in the future (hopefully). I've already practiced this étude at school with the school piano, but I want to practice at home too.
    (By the way, if you are an advanced pianist about to advise me not to play this piece, I'll have you know that I'm not a beginner, I've been doing piano for years now. Before Op. 10 No. 4, I was playing Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement, so the jump isn't too big)

    This is really similar to my experience with the etude, with one significant exception - I always thought that everything after m. 71 was like a massage to play, would personally have put it in forest green! Elsewhere, I always got my LH tied up in knots with this piece.

    Let’s actually watch this guy’s own performances on his channel, I feel a bit bad that it is other pianists’ performances that have gotten him increased views but not his own.
    Ronin (I assume that’s your name) maybe combine the two: do a score video of your own performance of a piece, with colour-coded difficulty levels as usual?

    Obviously there will be disagreement here. I always found measure 3 to be not a problem, yet the finger jumbles in measure 2 and similar measures I find very difficult and are what basically keep me from finishing this piece to my standards.

    Interesting you thought bars 25 and 26 were the most difficult. I had no trouble with that whatsoever. I found bars 29 and 30 to be the most challenging to pull of smoothly. Bar 11 is always hard, especially if I'm not warmed up. I'd be interested to see this for Op 10 No 1.

    • @RoninsMusic
      @RoninsMusic  4 дні тому

      Bars 25 and 26 involve a lot of passing from white to black keys with fingers 4 and 5 on top of the octaves that disrupt the hand configuration, which I found a lot more awkward than 29 and 30 where the weak fingers are mostly between white keys. Agreed with bar 11.
      I posted Op 10 No 1 here: ua-cam.com/video/Et_gpPsPmoo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Ronin%27sMusic

      When I played bars 25, 26, and even 27, I would have the left hand play the lower right hand note in order to not have to worry about the two different voices and the 4-5 chromatic scale patterns, so maybe that’s how it could be made easier?
