Scriabin Sonata No 6 Op 62 (work in progress)
Переглядів 122Місяць тому
One of the more "accessible" of Scriabin's late sonatas, with only a few technically awkward places (at least compared to what is typically found in his writing). The main challenges include voicing/phrasing the recapitulation of the "dream" theme, and the coda (you might notice that I practiced these sections a lot more than the others lol).

Great vid! But could you please put the code throughout the entire video?
😮Give me and everyone else with a musical mind... very easy! We NEVER USE THE WORD EASY REFFERING TO CHOPIN...especially an etude😅
I can't see.. my eyes... 😵
Do ocean etude next
Bar eleven should be dark red, its the thing that is the absolute hardest in here
It shoudl be all red
ok I can play the last bar 😂
I’ve been able to get past that 35 and 36 by using my 4th finger on the c#’s
Ive been able to get it all EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN C MAJOR ARPEGGIO 😭
lol somehow I do agree with it mostly 😂
Great!! can you do this with liszt's works?
So, surely I'm not alone in thinking that the colors are just pure trolling, assigned nearly at random?
I totally agree lol, he has some other videos with coloring like this. I'm not even sure he has any clue about classical piano music 💀. I learnt this piece at around june, and this coloring is so dumb it's not even funny.
He has no idea as a player . For example bar 31 sounds to the ears the most difficult and he has colored them so but actually it is exactly where you have a chance to relieve tension from you hand (probably the easiest part)
@@roozbehabtahi4146 Thanks for backing up your objection with an example (unlike some). However, I've found it difficult to achieve perfect note accuracy with the passage starting bar 31, hence the rating. Kudos to you if that's not an issue for you, of course.
If I were you I’d color the hole thing in red
what is the difference that makes 23 so much easier than 24
The fingers 1,2,3 belong to the "strong fingers" category. It's easier to play pretty much everything with them than say, 4 and 5. I mean, Chopin's Op 10 No. 2 is built to train your weaker fingers for doing chromatic scales
@@integer9590 oh sorry mistype - I play piano I know that I meant 23 & 24
@@lukecoleman3643 the reason still applies, 4th finger is generally weaker than 3rd...
@@integer9590 are you not using the 4th finger the same amount in the right hand and then replacing it with the 5th finger (which is even weaker) in the left hand
@@lukecoleman3643 it's just something you have to train (hence the etude)
As a clarinet player, calling any of this easy should be illegal and I bow to you
How are the first 2 measures harder than the second 2? The right hand in the 3rd measure is the same as the first 2 but with left hand added. Why is that easier?
Probably hard for them to start the piece. I have that issue with a couple of Chopin pieces where it’s so hard to start the piece but once I start it goes back to being easy
Good question. Some reasons: 1. It's the first measures of the piece so harder to play without your hands already warmed up, like the other guy already mentioned. 2. The absence of left hand leaves the notes very exposed, and also forces you to shape the passage to make the bare melodic line more 'interesting'.
@@RoninsMusic who tf are you to rank the difficulty like your some type of professional? good question? who do you think you are? stop wasting your time this has got to be the stupidest video ever. difficulty is always subjective, whats hard for some is easier for others. i mean half the time it looks like you chose the colors at random. stop masking your stupidity with this false sense of authority and proffessionalism because this is literally one of the stupidest things ever
@@RoninsMusic That's interesting, but it also implies that, if you're rating the difficulty of a long piece, everything should get progressively harder since the performer would get tired after playing for a long time.
Ballade 1 next?
@raffobaffo6861 Def considered it though it’d be harder to rate the slower passages using this system
You could maybe add more difficulty colours?@@RoninsMusic
@@RoninsMusicyou can just do the coda and some of the buildup to save u Some time
I would argue that the initial minor scale down is probably the hardest, even though the b flat Major descent down is also ridiculous! Great vid btw
@@acactus2190 Thanks! Yeah I still find the ‘spaced out’ thirds in the middle section harder
Do liszt
Not a big Liszt fan but I might eventually do some like La Leggierezza or Transcendental 10.
@RoninsMusic do etude 7
@@RoninsMusic transcendental 5 is all red, free content imo
This etude is crazy hard.
Try Alkan's scherzo focoso in this rubric
The A major passage definitly does not deserve pink color... some passages befor it are much much harder
Great job, bro!
Could you IDENTIFY each color?
Me who can only play the last measure: ☠☠☠
Yeah Bar 34 and 35 are the hardest for me and totally agree with other assessments
0:44 agree, this part makes me wanna quit
Obviously there will be disagreement here. I always found measure 3 to be not a problem, yet the finger jumbles in measure 2 and similar measures I find very difficult and are what basically keep me from finishing this piece to my standards.
I think you should do Chopin’s ballades
Do you plan on doing this type of vid for a longer piece (like Chopin Ballade No. 1) even as a subscriber special if ever?
You need to recheck your wrist movements and try to find the right phrase length to be able to paint the melody correctly. But I'm sure it will get better with time. Also I'm working on etude op.10 n°2 by Chopin and I haven't a video on it yet, any interests ?
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried 10/2 several times but decided it's not currently worth the effort to learn it seriously and rate it
great video (and gtreat channel) ! At first I thought maybe ud be some random ignorant UA-camr who blindly put bar 5 and so on with red highlight just because it sound hard lol. I totally agree with your difficulty grading, I'm learning this piece too :)
I like your idea, please do more
This is really similar to my experience with the etude, with one significant exception - I always thought that everything after m. 71 was like a massage to play, would personally have put it in forest green! Elsewhere, I always got my LH tied up in knots with this piece.
Hey, just noticed your channel, it has potential! This video got very famous! Bwadies that I loved the concept, so innovative
if you can't play at tempo then you should play it slower. there is no shame in it and is the mark of a good musician who values quality.
That one infamous choke point at m. 21…
interesting
can you please color code this by difficulty, thank you
Waiting for Feux Follets!
Not a big fan of Liszt so I'm afraid it might never come. I might eventually play/rate an "easier" etude like La Leggierezza or Transcendental 10 though.
measure 19 goes crazy for me.
Wait this is so accurate lol
will you do Chopin ballade in F major?
Yeah will do the ballades eventually except for maybe no 3 as I don't play that very much :D
I struggled the hardest with the F7 chord measure I could not do it. Also the measures with a million flats I thought were easier
I feel the last page isn't as intimidating as it sounds. It's actually where I started the piece back when I played it. 0:45 is EASILY was the trickiest part for me at the time. This is fairly accurate though. Nice video!
Definitely agree!
Interesting. the red bar at 0:33 was very easy while 0:41 was the hardest for me throughout the piece.
That polyphonic passage definitely took me a while to get down, but once that happens it feels pretty secure unlike the red bar around 0:33.
What is your span?
Only a tenth 😐
Nice!! Should you do some Medtnery like some Skazki, like from Op. 34, 35, or 42....
Personally the diminished broken chord section is the hardest for me!
Great idea
