      +Jordan E Fireworks are getting harder to get in the UK. Various countries are already starting to limit "drones" in the sky. Some even asking pilots to register any aircraft over a certian weight ( 90g i think). Soon we won't see anything in the sky lol.

      Mark Lawler how about you blame the people that are abusing their drone privileges instead? You know the morons that are flying near airports and in the path of airplanes? I bet if some jackass caused a plane to crash that a friend or loved one of yours was on you'd be asking the FAA why haven't they done more.

      I'm fairly sure a permit exception would have been granted, if required. Intel is an international corporation so their efforts here are centered in Europe. Probably not more complicated than that.

    Some liquid fuel sprayed into the downdraft from the props of each drone would look like rocket engines. There you go. Drones and fireworks combined.

    Awesome idea & implementation. Only question is...how long can they fly before the battery dies? My best battery does 25 mins max so not sure how long you could put shows on for using this technology.

      +johnnyxp64 Of course, and GPUs are not Intel's focus. Intel's job is making top-of-the-line CPUs and the HDxxxx series is simply for basic to medium users that don't render, game, or use other 3D-intensive applications.

    Agh! All the extra notes added into Beethoven's 5th symphony, totally unnecessary, made it sound worse! Beethoven 5 is a masterpiece. You don't add crappy synthesiser sounds to it. Apart from that, cool concept.

    Hello, Please anyone can solve this issue--How can I interface temperature sensor LM35 directly to intel edison mini breakout board?I have tried on Arduino uno and it works but not on intel edison mini breakout board and blocks.

    maybe you could even use them for airplane routes or something, bec when they fall, the drones maybe have cameras that filmes everything... or you just let one drone sit on an airplane that filmes everything and checks if its okay

    bravo génial, une application qui pourrait être utilisé dans de nombreux manifestations types soirées de gala pendant les feux d'artifices, dans le cas de recherche en forêt lorsqu'une personne est disparue, ou recherche en mer les drones pourraient quadriller la zone de façon visuelle , pour la police doit visuellement voir les zones sensibles en rouge ou en vert les zones sécurisés , pour la gestion de sortie dans un parkings d'un match de sport pour régulé le trafic des véhicules.

      Also, how many radio channels? I assumed the flight paths would have been pre-programmed into the drones having been worked out previously in computer apps, but it does look like they have controllers running the show.

      ​@@lusoverse8710no it's mission flight paths uploaded ahead of time. No need for traditional hobby radio receivers with channels. All digital protocols to upload the path data and once the show starts they follow it autonomously and land.

    How about Intel you start working on fixing this planet? Gather a team to fix the problem of clean energy. Make these technologies available for free for humanity. How about you start giving back to the population that has supported you by buying your products??? How about the average people starts getting the benefits of technologies that in reality actually MAKE a difference in respect to the quality of life?? Art... Art must represent the expression of the population in the present.. and this present has a lot of needs and expressions.. and music with a bunch of drones ain't one of them. Just saying...       There are light show drone companies that you can commission to do a show for you. I can't state the name of any as it would be a conflict of interest for my employer, but do your research and you'll find some. Prices depend on scale (100 vs 1000 drones) but you can expect a minimum of 10,000$. Not cheap

    Honestly, I was a little disappointed by this video; I was really excited to see the drone performance, but after editing that only made up like 20% of the video. I think the longest shot of the drones was for the logo.... @Intel Is there a way to watch a stable shot of the entire performance?

      That would be a 168 day video if you want the entire process of producing this video, without the production of the units and the software. You would be bored after 10 minutes.

    At 03:36 the advert/promo gives way to the drones. Their choreographed performance must have been even more impressive up close. The video I think doesn't do them justice.
    This would certainly make fireworks night allot safer.
