- Meet Shubham Banerjee, 8th grader and inventor who built a low-cost braille printer using Intel Edison technology to help give over 200 million blind people an affordable way to read. Shubham says, I saw the first letters that came out over the braille printer and I felt like I can actually have an impact. The Intel Edison was the only solution.
In between classes and football practice, Shubham Banerjee started his company, Braigo Labs Inc., to commercialize his product. Today braille printers cost over $2,000. Shubham will sell his for $500, giving more people access to read.
Check out Shubham's story and watch more Meet the Makers.

This is the first time I actually stopped to watch an ad. Beautiful, honestly.
+Lucy Williams this is my 3rd times :)
Really appreciate it.
This is very inspiring. My youngest brother is blind and I let him hear this video. I promised him that someday I will buy it for him. He just graduated from college (YES! my blind brother has a degree in Special Education!) and is now volunteering in a school for special children also teaching the blind. I hope you continue this work that will undoubtedly help millions of blind people all around the world. You are an inspiration!
truly
spoken
How is he now? Would like to know.
This kid is the MAN. We need more people like this running the country.
For the first time ever i stop and watch the ad completely and click on the link. Best ad ever and amazing guy with amazing talent.

+David Marquez Same
+David Marquez SAME!!
this is true meaning of education. it should be used for changing people's lives and to make this world a great place to live in not only for we humans but also for other species so that we all can sustain together......please Indian govt awake we need this kind of education.......
No, in India education simply means getting a job. That's it. No nurturing of creativity and innovation. Most Indians only looks for money and money. That's it. Sad but its true
@@abhradeepghosh7102 You're absolutely right
Eight people disliked this video.................I have to ask, WHY?!?!?
+Brian B IKR!!! I bet they are a bunch of jobless motherfucking pricks who dont give 2 hoots about the world, or dont understand highly intellectual stuff
Probably because of the mac he uses.
They were blind..
The Pakistanis are the onlyone, who can Do this and they feel proud doing stupid things as they can not do any thing in favor of the Humanity,,,
probably because they think audio books will do the job easier and apply to all people.
An 8th grader did this !!!!
I am goanna go and burry my head somewhere :(
+Sohail Ahmed

#WhatYouWillMake
I am making a smart software that the boy may require. It's being made in Python 3 for advanced AI and Machine Learning for the physically challange ones.
The Best advert we've seen in a long while, one that made us go back and watch again and comment. Showcasing the best traits humanity can have. Ingenuity. Generosity. Courage. We need more adverts like this. Kudos Intel. +3 Humanity, +3.
Very Inspiring, and I wish Shubham the very best. Great Work!
Intel is great company! It has everything and all it needs right people to take it forward.
He is very innovative. The Intel Edison is such a great module. Why then has Intel stopped manufacturing it? I can't even buy a second-handed one. I've looked in OLX and Quickr, but no luck unfortunately.
Cant believe i cried watching ad
Brilliant! I accidentally skipped this ad and I was mad, so I stopped what I was doing to take the time and search this up. What a great ad!
one of the very few ads i couldn't skip...amazing...i just hope he tries to take this technology to poorer countries at an affordable price...so that world over blinds can see the world with his innovation
I've heard about when this guy made the Lego model, but I never heard that Intel stepped in to help him make a more marketable braille printer. It's pretty cool, and this video gave me chills watching.
0:15 what rrrrr thoooooose
best comment 😂 😂
my hats off to you! you are an inspiration.
Of course he's Indian.
Probably has roots in India, but American/Canadian nationality.
He is an Indian Bengali. I am also a Bengali.
Keep up the great work! The blind community (my daughter is blind) needs more innovative thinkers and do-ers like this fine young man!
I don't know if anyone said this yet: but this kid is freaking amazing. We need more engineers like him.
1. What the hell are you talking about?
2. Even if he did that stuff, anyone with half a brain would be able to reason that I was clearly talking about the engineering /problem solving prowess of the boy and the fact that he used technology to help people. Seriously, did you eat paste as a kid?
I'm glad people took the time to share this story with us, it made me feel more inspired than I've been in a very long time.
por favor lleven esto a latinoamérica. Please take it to Latin America
Many thanks for sharing this video.

Your Machine Can Help To People Blind Eye To Read ... Honestly "AMAZING MACHINE"
that moment when you suddenly stopped and silently watch a random ad and clicked on the link means they`ve done a good job on advertising. the reasons i skip ads is because their either pointless, had no significance in my life, waste of time, or all that shit just to say "buy this, its the best"
this is so touching and inspiring
I actually sought out this video. It was nice to see this on 9/11. It made my heart warm
