I agree, great tune! Had never heard of him or the song. Thanks Ru Paul!❤️
OK, so now you have to go back to 1987 and check out the song that started it all (and my favourite!)
"Never gonna give you up"
Okay Auntie Ru! Thanks for the song rec! ♥♥♥
RuPaul sent me here (from his talk with Colbert) and wow, does this bring back memories!! Love RuPaul for being constant SUNSHINE in our lives!!!!!
(Rick Astley looks like a kid here, but sounds like Scotty McCreery!!!)
Rick never took himself too seriously and he's only gotten more handsome as he's aged. Thanks, Ru Paul!
The 80s was a truly phenomenal experience.
It's impossible not to smile when you hear Rick sing and watch his fun videos.
Yes, so cheesy and i am not even a fan but if you put this on it is instantly uplifting.
The '80's, simply the best decade ever.
@@ИванЛопатин-ч9м When you see a russian guy saying Да to a comment like this, even the soviets agree
I am a 17 year old teen from Greece 🇬🇷 and I am literally obsessed with the 70s, 80s songs and particularly with Rick's masterpieces.
Nasceu na década errada! Mas aproveite o melhor da música, de outras décadas! Hehehe
Συμφωνω, καλύτερα από τα σημερινά που δεν θεωρούνται καν τραγούδια πια, από έναν 18 χρόνο
Being young in the 80's was a great time, no social media crap, great music on the radio, and not to mention no mobile phones. It was a great time to be alive. The kids today don't know what they have missed. These are crazy times. Stay Safe everyone.
Imagine being in the 80's and seeing young Rick Astley's show.
You can't imagine it...unless you have been there...
Believe me 😁
It was a MAGIG decade!!
tell him: in 20 years, you're gonna be a worldwide known star and even young kids will know you
Thank you Ru for bringing back the memories 😊
2024, I'm here
Rick is still my dream man❤
Mine too , especially when I read his still with his first lady after so many years , respect.
Been on the TMTYH train since the 80s but since Mama Ru implied we should meet up here again, we dropped by once more for the party. Hi everyone! 🎉
Alguém Em 2024??💥💥
People from 2020, Join me giving thumbs up for the best musical decade ever.
Fabio Bevilacqua I love late ‘60’s Rock like in the ‘68 Comeback Special and I loved ‘70’s music like Tom Jones, Bowie and Elvis’ love concerts like Prince and Aloha, but the ‘80’s did have some really amazing music.
I really wish I could go back to the 80s. We had such hope and optimism; never thought things would turn out the way they are now,
1:34 woww Amazing song
Heard this on Japanese's beverage commercial (Mitsuya Cider).
The need to hear the full song is REAL
He's so handsome (specially when smiling) and I love his voice. ❤️ I was born in 90s and this is my first time to watched this music video, but been hearing Rick's music since childhood. 80s and 90s music ROCK! 🎶🎧
The best fire dancing hit from the Rick Astkey.
I really love this guy , he actually enjoyed what he did and contagied that happyness to the entire crew whom worked with. Many artists and people involved on their video makings should take a lesson from him. You're great Rick! 🥳🙌
I think Rick Astley is the most handsome English singer!!!! He also sings very well!!! Really stunning!!!! It's sad to see handsome men and beautiful women get old..... GOD bless Rick!
Takes me back to the 80’s. Met my future wife in 86. I’m 64 now and we’re still together. Life’s been challenging but we’ve stuck together. Happy Dayz!!!!

Rick was a 80's British Prince
This was always my favourite Rick song. SAW wrote loads of great tracks but this is one of their best.
こういう撮影現場を舞台にしたPVって大好き
I remember my best friend surprising me with a tape of Rick Astley on my 18th birthday. She couldn't have given a better gift!!! I LOVED IT!!! I still love it to this day! All tracks of the first 2 albums are unforgettable, and evergreen!!!❤❤❤❤
Just gotta say, love your songs Rick, thank you for all these well made songs! :)
A very likable artist who sings with an irresistible very appealing artistic joy,,, all moves and voice combine so well and true well in time. God bless you Uncle Rickie
All his songs are smashing
If you are under 40 and wonder what the 80s was like. This is it. The fashion. Music. Good feeling. Enjoy.
@@mrnathanaelchen same mostly I live for the 80s the 90s and the 2000s the games the consoles the music the fashion the way tech looked to how it looks now including computers
To be fair, even if people were under 40-3 years ago they would still know!
Radio still plays it/music videos. Also on TV documentaries-have music on in the house from family. etc
I just realized how depressing music nowadays compared to 80s music
you JUST realized? XD
don't waste more of your time with rap and all this stuff
lets wait for joji to make a depressed ver of never gonna give you up lmao
The Legend of the internet has shown us how he made all of his songs
Ngl i even think this is the best song Rick made
My favourite song
I was TOTALLY crazy about Rick Astley in the 80's. He was the man I wanted to marry 😂 (I'm married today and my husband looks NOTHING like him 🤣🤣🤣) I listened to his songs over and over and over again. "Take me to your heart " was and still is my favorite song. He was my favorite singer and artist. Too bad we don't hear that much about him today. Thank you Rick for the AMAZING music you provided for us. I'll ALWAYS be a fan of yours ❤❤❤
I feel like this is season three in Rick Astley's anime series

Love the synths
Eightiiiies, simply the BEST.
I was 24 in 1988 and everything was working out for me. I was at the most happiest in my life.
爽やかでクセになるよね〜この曲
May 2024, and I still enjoy listening to this song! Such a positive vibe! Thanks a lot for posting it!!!!!!!
I like the outfits rick is wearing
I’m just happy to hear him sing all these fun songs!
one of my fav song of Rick , and the vid is cool
This song makes me happy, the 1980's were the best
Take if from an older young-at-heart, the '50s were full of uplifting spirit too ! and America was TRULY great and getting greater...... again ;-) ......................................... then :-(
I like this song as it's reminiscent of Rick's "Never gonna let you down" reference on a late night comedy show... cuz the ex GF and I used to do aerobics to that song. in the '90's
Still wonderful in 2015
Luca db yep and that is because most of the music out now is following the style of music of the later part of the 87 - 89, which is when dance music was really popular and at the height of it's abilities soundwise, and club music started to develop from this heavy beat driven music with synths, just look at taylor swift's new album they are all starting to try to recreate this sound because it was the best, and sounded great simply
Can you imagine opening your mouth and that beautiful voice coming out of it? He’s so blessed!
Estoy enamorada de este hombre por Dios..
I wish I was born in the 80's just to hear and experience the best days of music and society.
in those days we could not hear all the music we want, we had to buy the cassette if we were lucky enough to find it, and we could not have them all at our fingertips and FREE like these days.
in fact today I can listen to 80s music more than before.
In the 80s you could request from your local station, but the thrill to play them on air is superficial, it lingers in your mind all day long, not like now you could play as long as you want
So true, even with the cassette - you can't really keep replaying it as often as one would like - tape wears out fast.
I think what he means is that nowadays the music industry has gone the wrong way. Of course what you guys say is true about technological advancement but nowadays a teenager listening to these songs would get bullied due to the crappy rap, hip hop and these artists are not singers nowadays since they cant sing. they are performers. Also the fake genres like grime etc make current generation even crappier.
When I was a teenager this song it was the success of the moment. Beyond this song there were others that were also very successful.
This song has been helping me so many ways. It has been uplifting in my despairs.
Thank you Rick Astley!
@@guerreirodedeus5200 jesus said this can help, not some fool pushing for jesus in the wrong way
Magnifique chanson !!! J' adore la voix du beau RICK !! SUPER ENTRAÎNANT
Yep 2024 🎉❤
When you really listen you can hear how talented SAW were the multi layers that created the song were ahead of their time in this type of format of production the bridges in all their tunes were superb
This particular song, or the backing track at least, was inspired by early techno hit 'Big Fun' by Inner City. Stock, Aitken and Waterman were often inspired by club tracks (Waterman was a DJ) but softened the edges and put some boy meets girl lyrics over the top for the pop market. 'Never Gonna Give You Up', for example, started off as a rip off of the bassline from "Trapped" by Colonel Abrams, which was quite a dark and menacing club track, but the synth strings and Rick's dulcet tones turned it into a housewife's favourite.
Quel charme classe élégance une voix inouïe inoubliable 🌹❤️. Dany 53 ans
The fact is: he has a great voice and is a star performer. Was then. Hasn’t dated at all.
His music always cheers me up when I feel a bit down
My late Aunty had a Vinyl record,
I thank her for the Support.

Ru Paul just told Colbert that if he had to listen to only one song for the rest of his life, it would be this one. Nice compliment.
Ahhh.... Yay! I came here to check out the song because I just watched this segment.

Reason I'm here
