  • First attempt on the Wizard 90 from Slingshot. I think this may take a few sessions to get the hang of. Day 1 was a little challenging.

Those look like tough conditions to ride that board for the first time. I just got the 114 and I haven't sailed it yet, only winged it, and it feels solid for that. I imagine even the 114 for me in similar conditions would be tough with a sail. Flat water would probably get your sorted and maybe help you know if you want to tweak the mast base position?

Thinking I maybe should have gone for the 114 instead of the 90. I have no drama getting up on foil on my Fanatic Blast 130 but found it very different on the slingshot.

@@JimmyLtdProductions I learned to foil on the Blast 145. Yeah the 90 may be quite small. I can stand on the 114 pretty easily but it's difficult in chop/swell, and I think a wing makes it easier.

@@TeamSeattle99 I've got the 114, haven't been on it much lately as I've been playing with a 650 front race wing on the IQFoil board

@@TeamSeattle99 Ended up swapping the wizard 114 for a 145 FoilX. Much easier to get going and more appropriate for the typical conditions here. Can also use with the slalom foils

One other thing, look into 3.4 Fringes or Banzais. Another sail I really like to for foiling is the KS3. Rigs a little differently but I really like the feel. I have a 2.7, 3.0, 3.4 and 4.0 in the KS3. 3.6 is good but believe it or not, a little on the big side. :-). The mast placement looks about right. in the beginning, you may even want it a bit forward and then move it back as you find your happy place. Depends on where the foil is mounted in the track. I have a tuttle box so no variable there. I think you will like the little board in the long run. NO swing weight. ua-cam.com/video/hz0isw9VNvc/v-deo.html

Thanks for the advice Mike. I need as much as I can get. How great is UA-cam, free advice from the other side of the world. So you reckon 3.6 should be my biggest on the 90ltr and go down to a 2.7? Wow, I’m gonna need some new sails.

@@JimmyLtdProductions 3.6 for that size board is about right however, I use a 3.4 a lot. 3.15 Banzais have been one of my favorites lately.
