Sorry about the lack of Baba videos lately. The original plan was to do a bonus video now and then, but I realized I don't have time to record any extra uploads if I want to take time off for Christmas. I also hate to skip a bloons upload for Baba, since less than half the number of people watch this. So that's where we are right now.

Move is different from Auto because Auto doesn't bounce back when hitting a wall. Also, love the Baba videos! I know the Bloons videos get more views, but we love your Baba content.
Move also requires you to hit space (waiting) for something to happen while auto goes by itself without input.
@@DoubsGaming not exactly; both move and auto work when you input, but "level is auto" is a special case that inputs waiting automatically after a set amount of time
@@FoxSlyme "both move and auto work with input" I mean yeah, like everything else in the game. Can you call level is auto a special case or is it it's main use of the word. I don't disagree though.
Another difference is that if A IS AUTO and a bumps into b with b push (and not stop or similar) (b can be text) then a pushes b and stops moving. Note that a can start moving under auto after stopping if it is given a new direction and something moves it, as happened in Vehicle 7 Clockwords with the text stopping and then moving under auto when pushed a different direction. Also in clockwords, whilst moving under auto a (if push) can be pushed in a new direction and continue in that direction under auto.

Hey Aliensrock, a new update for ROLL came out. And the first time I got back in the game I got top 30 on the leaderboard! I'm down to 38 the last time I checked. This update is MASSIVE in terms of what the game was before. Balance changes, new ways to get points. Lottery meta is OVER I can tell you that much right now.

Auto for most objects is just move without bouncing and changing direction. However, it has a special behavior when you make the rule "level is auto".
i think having an item be auto when it is move makes it move automatically makes more sence

Also it would be weird for the game to have a property that only does anything when the object it's applied to has another specific property. None of the other properties in the game behave like that.
I think it makes sense the way it is.

That wouldn't apply only to move, but to everything that would normally change only if you walk/wait. It would be a property that makes the thing update independent of player movement. Also, isn't the power stuff also doing something only if other properties are involved?
level is auto makes that time passes automaticaclly, right?
@@esajpsasipes2822 What I meant is no property in the game requires *the same object* to also have another property in order to work. Shut only does something if there is at least one object that is open, and melt only if there's something that is hot; but it doesn't have to be the same object and most of the time isn't. If you're going to have a property that requires the same object to also have a separate property, might as well merge both properties into one.
Anyway here's why your idea of how auto should work doesn't make sense based on how the game works: movement (whether caused by move/nudge/shift/whatever) happens once per turn, so if making "ghost is auto and move" were to cause the ghost to move automatically the same way "level is auto" does, that would have to mean the game passes turns automatically, causing everything else that is move to also move regardless of being auto. Essentially ghost is auto would have to behave the same as level is auto.
If it didn't and only caused the ghost to move and anything that is also move to only move when the player performs an action, then it wouldn't be consistent with the way "level is auto" works because it would be treating passing turns in a special way that causes movement-related properties to do nothing on idle turns, except for auto objects, which is not something level is auto does.
I understand why you think it would make more sense, but in actuality it would break all the rules of how movement is supposed to work in the game. The way to make auto consistent with "level is auto" for every object wouldn't be to change how it behaves for everything else, it would be to make "level is auto" move the whole level down by one tile once per turn, which would make auto a lot less useful.
"Level" is already a special word with a behavior that doesn't match any other nouns for basically any rule you can make with it anyway, so "level is auto" is consistent with that. That is to say, level is the word with a special meaning in that rule, not auto.
A number of people seem to be pointing out how "auto" and "move" are different since Tyler mentioned he doesn't know how it's that different from move, but I think he meant that he doesn't know the point of introducing such a *similar* mechanic, and not that he doesn't know the difference between the two (besides level is auto, obviously)
To that, I believe the answer is that the levels in the original game were set up to incrementally introduce new and widely varied mechanics throughout the game that would make for an interesting "story" mode. In this level pack, however, while they are adding some very interesting mechanics, another main point is to add nuanced versions of old mechanics (fall up/down, auto vs move, ect) to help flesh out the level editor so people can really make any level they want (while auto is a very similar mechanic to move, one could make the difference in if a person's level idea is possible at all), but they don't want to just throw in these similar mechanics completely blind, so they give them a few levels as well.
Also if level is auto than level ticks go by themselves without needing baba to be move, which is game-changing
Bloons is fun, but Baba and other puzzle game videos are the reason I really love your channel
In case it was not sleuthed out. Auto does not walk back and forth when coming in contact with a STOP object.

I love when Baba is You levels have solutions based on precise movement like Sokoban as in that second level because I played a lot of Sokoban so the movement is by far my biggest strength in this game. I always chuckle when I see someone go something like "how on Earth do I put this word there?"

Based on the mechanics, [auto] is not comparable to [move] but is comparable to [fall], as [move] will hit a wall and revert direction but [fall] will not revert its direction, thus making [auto] the same as [fall] but with the modifier of retaining the direction of [push] until it comes next to a non-pushable object. Though, interestingly, the mechanic differs slightly when (level) is [auto], allowing the game to process phrases based on ticks rather than movements; I guess the perspective of how [auto] affects (level), this would make the coding of [auto] be something like retaining tick-based functionality within the movement-based function of the game, where when (level) is [auto] this supersedes movement-based functionality and gives priority to tick-based functionality to allow phrases to be tick-based.

@@alexlehtinen7246 While true, [nudge] is only available in the editor, isn't it? Most people aren't going to know of it if it isn't in official levels, thus contextually a better analog is [fall]. Unless I just haven't come across [nudge] in the level pack yet.

I was really stuck on "Test Chamber" until I realized that when you turn the levers into boxes or vice versa, there's a delay of one turn before the "Power" property (and therefore the state of the doors) updates.
And I do like how "Test Chamber" is an obvious tribute to Portal.

Baba is seldom power (meaning sometimes Baba will be power, but usually not power)
Flag is often Win (meaning the flag is usually win, but sometimes will not be win)

Idle Baba is
Powered rocket is move (upwards, when it does move it makes the sentence 'all is done' which, on a custom level, finishes it and I think it also sends you to the main menu)
It's more of a luck-based level, since your goal is to complete the level by touching the flag. It does not count if you touch the flag and it is not win or all is done while you are touching the flag.
Basically, you have to be touching the flag when it is win.
And if all is done, don't undo if you can, just restart. Because we've seen your big brain but I'm unsure if we've seen your luck.
Anyway, Good luck! (no pun intended)
All Is Done plays the win screen so if that happens then you could say that the player won the stage. Now, if Flag was a BONUS (Like the orbs from the main game), then THAT'S a totally different thing.
