When one of these guys can explain how they account for the displacement of the earth from year to year I’ll believe them. Time travel has to include space travel as well or else you would end up in a time where the earth is somewhere other than under your feet where you left.
I do agree with the point you made but would posit a potential 'loophole' around that issue. We know that time is effected by gravity is certain ways. I see a slim chance that if we were to create a movie-like time machine, gravity may keep it locked in place as it moves through time. I'm not college graduate but I just wonder if this could be. You're opinions or criticisms are welcome 🙂
When you are traveling through space you are traveling through time, like you currently are. To travel backwards in time, you need to reverse the travel through space. Your motion through time is the side affect. It's the dark matter space you will have to travel through. You'll need to flip from the matter plane to the dark matter plane, from their it's just a forward direction, but happens to be the reverse direction on the matter plane. We use quantum entanglement between dark matter and matter to perform the flip.
one of my favorite 'red dwarf' episodes is where the crew of Red Dwarf (spaceship lost millions of years in the future) finds a time machine that could take them to medieval times. they use it and it transports them through time to like the 1600s...but they are still lost billions of lightyears out in space...😂😂😂😂
My thinking is that if time travel exists at ANY point in time, then by default it exists at every point in time as you can go to any point in time. Personally, I believe we have had that available to some of us for some time.
There's a lot of really strange, annoying and obvious errors like that. For example, there's the phrase he says at 2:56 - "Three of them were named John - Hutchinson, von Neumann, and Tesla." Since when was Tesla's first name "John" instead of "Nikola"?
HG Wells The Time Machine is about traveling forward in time to 802,000AD. Humans have evolved a lot into two distinct species. One feeds on the other. It’s much better than any of the movies based on it.
802,701 to be exact. I still have a paperback of Wells' novel I bought for 40 cents around the time the movie came out in 1960. Ads for the movie on the back.
My problem with these time paradoxes is that they assume your returning to the same dimension. If the multi-verse consists of every decision we made and/or didn't make... there would surely be a divergence created when if we return and successfully kill our grandfather. At that point, our existence would simply be evidence of an alternate dimension where our grandfather lived... now living in a dimension where he no longer does. This doesn't create a paradox, just yet another alternative.
I don’t think you quite understand how physics work. Your “perspective“ is just one of the infinite perspectives available, so your opinion just will create one line in the space time tissue. You’re lucky it’s not relevant.

I understand the point you are making, and you are right in the regards of assuming current present time is what you might consider an anchor point, and any changes made in the past will change that, and you can no longer return to it as it no longer exists. If you travel forward in time to a future within your own expected lifetime you are traveling to a future that you are no longer part of as you ceased to exist the exact moment you traveled and left your present time in the now past.
I'd hate to try to travel in time, just in case someone has built a house in my future location and I ended up emerging halfway through a wall! Time travel seems to be an incredibly risky endeavour, however you propose to do it!!!
Time viewing invented at the same time as time travel, would solve the problem. The time traveler will know not only WHEN but also WHERE exactly he will be at the end of his journey, by time-viewing his destination before he starts his time machine.

His time travel was real for him, as mine was for me. It can't be verified by identical events because each time you replay the timeline, history plays out a bit different. We aren't invaded by hordes of tourists from the future because each tourist spawns their own unique timeline.
only if the traveler enters the past with intention, this will ultimately always result in a paradox which will divert the traveler to a new/pre-existing alternate timeline which serves natures own failsafe mechanism to prevent loops, or blisters would probably be more appropreate, subtle alterations to a timeline can occur without causing a shift, deliberate actions lead to paradoxes that reshape the future into an alternate timeline those venturing into the past typically do so with intent or a motivation that dissolves upon fulfillment, instigating the paradoxical fork in the temporal road the irregularity in witnessing time travelers can be attributed to the fact that individuals engaging in time travel often carry motives or intentions, resulting in a self-fulfilling paradox, for those rare travelers who are able to unintentionally traverse the past without instigating changes the vast expanse of time makes them akin to needles in a galactic haystack
Regardless of whether time travel is real, wouldn’t the fickle nature of the sequence of events just naturally proceeding onward lead to any time traveler from the future coming to a present that will lead to a future different from the one they originated from?
At the start of this sentence I was single, young and happy. Finishing it, I am now married, had 3 children and 5 grandchildren. But damn, that was some smooth English, sir. 🫡
No. It isn't possible to change the present by altering the past, because, assuming you're successful at traveling back in time, anything you do (did) in the past is now part of the timeline that led to the present as you know it.
To travel back in time is possible. The problem is that you cannot tell people what will happen and then it happen. Time will change when the future is is the past. the person that traveled back in time is talking about his past in such the future will be different than what he remembers.
Youngest never heard of multivariate theory. If you travel back you travel to an identical earth but one thing at any point in that earth's history was different. So you can kill your grandpa because you are on a different timeline. You never changed your timeline. The earth could be exactly the same as the one you left. Maybe a brown Leaf was green on this one 500 million years ago.
You're not a time traveler. What happened is that you play with yourself multiple times throughout night. During one of these sessions, having touched yourself countless times, you lost track of time and thought, "Wow, I must be a time traveler!" If you keep this up, you'll go blind.
I time traveled to the home I live in. I asked God to show me where I would be at 60. It’s a beautiful old cabin overlooking the narrows in Alaska. I’ve been here 10 years now. In my dream the floor was dirt. Another lady bought the place and for two years she dug underneath for a 5 foot crawl space under house. They added on cedar kitchen and bedroom. It’s magical.
If time travel is possible, maybe invisibility cloaking is possible too. Maybe we are being visited by people from the future, but we can't see the tour vehicles because their not allowed to reveal themselves. Maybe.... right?
A delightful fantasy these time travel documentaries. If you are a time travellers show me an object not of this time in front of tv crew and lots of witnesses, until then it's just hearsay. Keep making up funny stories l find them funny. However l will also give timetravelles the benefit of the doubt that mean TV crew, until proven in real world not convinced.
Perhaps they vibrate at such high frequency that we cannot see them. Solid objects exist due to frequency vibrations. Keep your eyes on the sky perhaps you will notice something that will prompt you to look for answers.
I did live throughout the 1950s. I would go back to that age of relative sanity. Eisenhower was President, a vastly underrated chief executive. Though it was the cold war, no one I knew worried about the bomb. To us, our nuclear supremacy was a source of comfort. And it did keep the peace well past the 50s.
When archeologists unearth a dinosaur fossil that shows evidence that this dinosaur was shot at by some kind of deadly weapon, then I'll believe in the possibility of time travel. Past or future.
There is a buffal head that was found I the u.s. which had a bullet hole . Evidence showed it was thousands of years old and the shot was made when the animal was alive. Mysterious
Why would that become a fossil though? They would travel back for troph hunting and certainly not do it before or during events that could bury dinosaurs fast to preserve them for the future.
@@wasweiich9991 Fossils are very rare. Then why so many dinosaur fossils? It's because dinosaurs lived for 150 ''million" years. Time travelers won't disrupt any events. Another scenario to explain the fossil, is some intelligent beings from another world landed on Earth at the wrong time. Shooting at an Allosaurus that was attacking them.
I would argue that the absence of time-traveling tourists from the future is not sound evidence that time travel is impossible. There could be a lot of considerations that we haven’t even conceived of yet that make it unethical for some reason. Space-age pathogens that we haven’t been exposed or immunized to, for instance. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If humans were to ever fully understand the fundaments of time travel, the concept of time would probably cease to exist if we had full control over it. Traveling to the past/future would be trivial.
You live in country A, which is say, 2 hours ahead of country B. You board a plane at 9pm in country A flying to country B. You will arrive in country B, 2 hours earlier than you left country A. (7pm). You have travelled back in time.
I feel like if it's possible two possibilities would be true: They were already destined to travel, so that travel is laid out in the fabrics of the universe, therefore it doesn't change history, as it is the plan ALREADY. OR you'd jump back to a parallel dimension, so you wouldn't actually change YOUR timeline, because you're in a different, but an almost identical one.
100%. If actual time travel were possible it would mean free will does not exist and reality is like a scripted story we are experiencing from a first person perspective.

One thing is a physics certainty, time travelers come from parallel universes similar to, but different from our own. The predictions they make based on what happened in their universe do not necessarily apply to our universe, and may actually be wrong. Free will, and chaos theory, make this an absolute certainty. Time travel may seem plausible but ultimately you're only travelling to parallel universes similar to our own.
My take on time travel is we travel forward a second every second. If it became possible to travel at any given rate then that travel can only be backwards from the present. The reason I say this is the future has not yet happened, we are creating it one second at a time and there is nothing in the future to go to. You would need to travel back in time before you could travel forward to the present. This is my understanding on the subject.
If you are moving at relativistic speeds, you would be travelling forward in time by a tenth of a second every second. If you are flying east in a jet, you are ageing 0.999999999 seconds every second. Or something like that.
@@emotown1 just calculated it for fun. If you travel at the speed of an average jet, one second for you would be 1.0000000000003849 seconds for everyone else.

Maybe consciousness and the perception of time are linked somehow? Perhaps time is a construct of our imaginations which separates the infinite amount of alternative timeline dimensions? Maybe that’s why we cannot time travel - we are unable to sense it because we are existentially linked to time itself.
Interestingly, it makes sense when you consider how mass and gravity are inversely proportional to time. Think about it: The higher a gravitational force is exerted, the slower time goes. The lower a gravitational force is exerted, the faster time goes. Therefore, the amount of time that passes is literally dependent upon the mass that time affects. It is why time passes slowly for a black hole, but passes normally for Earth.
Found this interesting comment when looking into the feasibility of time travel mechanisms/concepts. "By squeezing the maths a bit you can theoretically do this; time is considered to be a fourth dimension with the three normal Cartesian ones. If you consider them as a manifold, there is nothing to preclude something like a Goedel metric which does not preclude the existence of closed timelike curves. In theory you ought to be able to move along these curves. However, as I said, you have to tweak the maths and the definition is highly artificial. A few years ago Novokov came up with some highly conjectural mathematics in quantum time travel, later reworked by Deutsch. Deutsch made a simplifying assumption that we can split the quantum system into a subsystem (A) external to the closed timelike curve and an actual CTC part, a sort of imaginary number counterpart to real-world physical systems, if you will. Deutsch further made the assumption that no correlation exists between the intial state of density of A and that of the CTC. This is stratospherically theoretical, even more so than we usually find in the mathematical physics department, and unlike most stratospheric thinking, it does not have a counterpart in the applied world as no such phenomenon has actually been observed to exist, let alone suggest a way to be manipulated at will. There is absolutely no-one that can seriously put forward an engineering solution to this (unless a major government has thrown a very large pile of money at it that they aren’t telling us about). It’s quite possible that not enough power can be generated for a machine that can do this. Consequently nobody who wishes to avoid being ridiculed in the applied physics world seriously believes it is possible. Some theoreticians concede that it is mathematically possible, but most will say it’s not practically so. Some will take a non-committal stance on the basis of “who knows” philosophy but nobody serious in any of the physical sciences believes it is possible for anybody to travel back in time. Which doesn’t stop us making up stories about it, of course. I lurves time-travel stories, me. Did I tell you about my time-travelling Vauxhall Viva? But unfortunately, although The Terminator is the greatest film ever made (if you argue about this I shall just assume you are a bizarre chimpanzee and as nutty as a squirrel’s pantry to boot) I’m afraid that, as splendid as it is in every way, it is likely to remain fiction. I blame the EU. Hurteler through der Timeline.
Language is always changing. We've seen that language changes across space and across social group. Language also varies across time. Generation by generation, pronunciations evolve, new words are borrowed or invented, the meaning of old words drifts, and morphology develops or decays. Not convinced.

Hmm, but they also used to think going faster than 100 miles an hour would make your organs explode. Many things previously thought impossible are now part of daily life. You can imagine in 100 years how simple they’ll think our science is right now.
The only way to have the time travel possible is to change our formation into energy travel through time and change back from energy to mass and somehow be able to go back to the future with the same way (of course this means that the time machine should be transform to energy and via versa). That's why the time travel is impossible.
We do know that extended time in space has a detrimental effect on the human body. Could the difference in the twin brothers (Kelly brothers) bodies have been caused mostly from the over 500 days Scott Kelly who's body was more aged then Mark Kelly the twin that had only spent 50 + days on the space station?

My problem with these time paradoxes is that they assume your returning to the same dimension. If the multi-verse consists of every decision we made and/or didn't make... there would surely be a divergence created when if we return and successfully kill our grandfather. At that point, our existence would simply be evidence of an alternate dimension where our grandfather lived... now living in a dimension where he no longer does. This doesn't create a paradox, just yet another alternative.

Time is an invention created by mortal beings to chronicle their ongoing decay.
You have just witnessed me traveling back in time to leave this comment so that you can spend a bit of your own time in the present reading it.
You're welcome.
Welcome back.
You're also welcome.
It's been proved through science and many top physicists like Einstein who happened to work on the experiment has said time travel is not possible
No? Energy cant travel back in time. Just like mass cant. You can only travel forwards in time by moving really fast or being near a massive object.
I am time traveler. I've been traveling time since 1983... Seen wars, natural disasters, terrorist attacks etc. Etc...
Time travel is a dangerous thing
Yes! That's why Time Travel Insurance matters to the wealthy, omnipotent like yourself.
Dangerous thing? It's nothing.
Your try it?
The time is fulfilled.
Hopefully, From now on, hopefully many, many, many more people will finally believe the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and finally be saved and have everlasting life. Amen. Love.
I don’t think he accurately described the plot of H.G. Well’s time machine in that Intro… 😂
How did he travel from 2137 to 2749? Did he have a time travel device on him or did he build one?
also if you travel in tile you will end up in the middle of nowhere in space because the universe is constantly expanding like a balloon
I think he built one
Every time someone says i'm late for something. I reject it and say no. When they ask why, i just say time is relative. Which pisses them off even more.
Who started this craze of so-called time travelling pillocks turning up every other day talking tripe?
Are you English man lol
It started when UA-cam pays....
I've been to the future, we still suck. We still fight, nothing changes.
Time travelling takes its toll looking at the man at the start, “I’m so sorry for what’s coming” Best intro & an apology for the video at the same time.
We probably make a mistake in trying to understand time as linear.
A question to think about is if you can in fact or if anyone has or could jump time are you landing in a parallel version or the same, if the technology exists I can’t imagine they know what they are doing yet
My only time travel experience occurred when I was 15 during a very heavy "glue huffing".
