OMGosh ! This is absolutely fantastic to see. Thank you so much for taking us there. I'm doubtful I'll ever make it to England at this point. This and floss tube #1 were awesome. i'll go thru them as i can. Hope there is many more.
So glad you liked it, I really liked hearing Rebecca talk about the pieces and her discoveries. Researching these embroideries can be a lonely task but full of excitement you can't talk to anyone else about (as they just don't get it) and so I was happy to just let her speak!
I know, Rebecca had been holding on to the group for a few years to allow her and Isabella to do research on them to create the best possible book on them as they could. That is quite an investment by Witney Antiques and says something about her commitment not just to make a business of antique embroideries but how she feels about them.
Thank you Shirley - I used to teach more in person and then people got to know me and my stories about needlework. Nice to share with a larger audience now
Trish this was just awesome! I'm such a fan of yours and I'm thrilled to see you're joining the Flosstube lineup. I will definitely share and shout it from the mountain tops that your sharing your expertise as well as taking us places we long to go! I wish I could just traipse of to England to see this in person but having a guided tour is the next best thing! Thank you for bringing this to us. Now I want to stitch a 17th century band sampler... any suggestions? LOL~ Happy Holidays !🌲🌲🌲
Well, the Historic Design Course that just started has started with all the students following a step by step process to design their own 17th century band sampler (Lesson 4 does stitches/color) and I have to admit I am overjoyed with the wonderful samplers that the students have already designed in homework 1! Why stitch someone else's vision when you can design exactly what you like!
