Hey mate, nice video! I know that you don't usually cover them, but can you take a look at the 2022 Scott scale lineup? They are counterparts to the procalibers and will make for an interesting comparison!
Unfortunately nothing has changed since 2021 for any of them besides the 9.7 and a color on the EX 8 XT so my videos on the 2021 lineups should be perfect for any info you need!
The X-Cal 8 is a better bike because of the stronger frame, but they will both be pretty similar for community riding. The X-Cal will be better for trails slightly and that will be more noticeable on bumpier more difficult trails. Overall both are good options
I have been using my ‘21 both on the street daily and on the trails about twice a week. Very versatile, however I did go tubeless, upgraded the grips and pedals and add a dropper. The only thing I may do is a shorter stem and raised handle bars.
The trek slash 7 got a huge upgrade, way better shimano drivetrain with a deore cassette xt derailleur and slx shifter and shimano 4 pot brakes. So much better than nx Eagle and god awful guide t’s
Mtb is becoming prohibitively expensive, the future belongs to affordable mtbs. 4k ought to be the limit and there are great bikes for that price point but 10k bikes, just stupid money
I gotta give trek credit. Their frames look sick🤘
:DD

Good video man! A lot of details to cover, and you summed it up pretty good.
Thank you!! I appreciate that :)
Mr. Lollipop is bacccc!!!
WOO!!
That would be awesome if you could do a pro-caliber lineup. Thanks!
Nice vid can u do the supercaliber line up next?
Thank you for another amazing vid ! Great content !
You’re welcome!!
Thanks bro
No problem :)
So the XT build now gets XT brakes.
Hi mate do you thing you could do a fuel ex lineup for 2022

1.72 what size for a playfull bike ?
What would you recommend for both community and trail riding purposes? 2021 x caliber 8 or 2022 Marlin 8?
The X-Cal 8 is a better bike because of the stronger frame, but they will both be pretty similar for community riding. The X-Cal will be better for trails slightly and that will be more noticeable on bumpier more difficult trails. Overall both are good options

How you can tell you gear # you are on
You can see the chain on the cassette but besides that it’s just based on feel
I have 2 options ..trek marlin 5 2022 or the marlin 6 2021..the difference is just the color?
Yeah, they are the exact same bikes in terms of components.
Go for Marlin 5.
The marlin 6 has a slightly wider range rear cassette so it’s a little bit better actually but it shouldn’t be too noticeable
Why 170 mm long crankset for all sizes?
To prevent pedal strikes most likely. A longer crankset means the pedals are further out and can hit rocks and stuff
I’m still waiting for them to copy the GT force then I might consider buying one
Broooooo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥

What about the alloy trek slash?
Those have not been released in the US yet but I’ll make a video on them when they are!
@@TalalipopMTB yeah I’m from AUS and they aren’t released just wondering cause If there aren’t making alloy I’d have to get the 2021 slash 8
@@qAsuma Not sure whether or not they'll come to AUS but I know they should come to the US
The trek slash 7 got a huge upgrade, way better shimano drivetrain with a deore cassette xt derailleur and slx shifter and shimano 4 pot brakes. So much better than nx Eagle and god awful guide t’s
Please tell Trek to send slash stocks here in the Philippines!!
No Slash 7 in this review.
That bike has not been released in the US yet
