      The first Terraria playthrough is awesome because you actually have something to work towards and you slowly discover so many interesting things and get surprised by unexpected bosses.
      Minecraft on the other hand is like: "what I'm supposed to do?"
      "OH, DIAMONDS!"
      "OK, I guess I'll keep mining for diamonds and wondering around aimlessly until I find a clue about what to do next"
      "So this is the end?"

    In the end when you say "I am playing it wrong", the game's beauty is to play however you want. The game has a simple progression, although the game does not force the players to follow those. It is quite refreshing to see new players and their perspectives and just explore the game which is quite nice in my opinion. Also, Minecraft over the years has gotten quite big, so while it is nice to explore on your own, I do recommend at least reading some mechanics about the game because there are nuances that most beginners will not figure out on the get-go, but anyways hope you keep playing it though

    A quick note because I already know you might get confused about it: Bedrock and Java editions are basically two different games with two different codebases. Java is, obviously, made with Java, while Bedrock is made with a repurposed version to be suitable for consoles/phones. It's generally considered that Java is the better version to play on PC, while Bedrock is available use to play cross-play and such.

      @MichaelPohoreski 28 днів тому

      Bedrock is coded in C++. Sadly it has SO many bugs that the community has called it _Bugrock._ You CAN play it on PC.
      Gamers don't care _which_ programming language is used -- they just want to have fun. Java has _many, many_ mods which *greatly* enhance the user experience. Purists will insist on Vanilla. For the first play through stick to vanilla to learn the game mechanics.
      Once you get bored (or tired of the poor performance and/or missing QoL) in vanilla try out modded Minecraft -- it is a WHOLE different experience. e.g. Xaero has an _excellent_ map and mini-map mod.

    You can upgrade your tools by getting some Stone (cobblestone when broken), and you can even mine Iron with stone. Once you find enough iron, you can upgrade your tools yet again. Starting at iron, you can create armor and shields that help you survive. All of the ores are found underground, and can be found by either digging or going down into the caves

    I suggest playing the java edition, the version you are playing has many game breaking bugs and is much more frustrating. Java edition is downloadable from the Minecraft launcher.

    Experiencing it raw is a new thing now, it was shocking but refreshing to see someone play with no clue what they were doing. I need to get into more games that way. There isn't a way to play it wrong, if there's a way to play it right though, you've found it.

    It would be cool to see you continue. You can do like everything in this game without guidance, it’ll just probably take a long while. You just have to explore a lot and test a lot of things out. The hardest part to figure out is the nether portal, but the ruined ones you find around are a big clue as to how to construct it.

    hey farket, it's nice to see a first timer on MC, here's some tips for you if you plan to play further!
    1. Bedrock is tougher than Java, so what you wanna do is gather resources such as wood for housing and crafting table, cobblestone for tools and furnace, ores like coal or iron and food! You can do these steps anytime at any day you want but a base is an important!
    2. The bed is also important, like some games it is basically a spawn point, when you respawn you'll teleport to your bed instead of the original place you started first, destroying the bed will result in spawning in the original point.
    3. Don't stare at the Endermen, they're the opposite of weeping angels.
    4. Minecraft doesn't have a specific goal to do, you just play and do whatever you want.
    If you have got more questions ill try my best to answer you, good stuff as always man.

    Your thought process about the game being catered to an already familiar audience are very correct. This game has had legendary status for a while, and by that point the content they're adding is meant to spice up the gameplay for people already playing.
    Besides, for many people, breaking a tree and making tools via crafting table is basically muscle memory at this point

    Good ol algorithm sent me here. Def play with your kid, minecraft is more fun with other people in the world. A lot of stuff you either learn from wikis, other players, or experimenting. But it really is much more fun when you have another player to bounce off of and I bet your kiddo will love teaching you the ropes.

      @@Lucxasbbx Perfomance is different but bedrock has many flaws in it's code that allow serious game breaking bugs. Java might have a few less frames here and there but in java your charactor doesn't just die randomly.

      @Lucxasbbx Місяць тому +1

      @@Jiggythehyena it’s not a matter of a few frames here and there trust me it’s day and night, whilst I can run java flawlessly bedrock can still run better natively without any performance mods, as Java players often are required to use performance mods to help the fps. The way Java runs natively is absolutely terrible.

    • @TheMcZioms
      @TheMcZioms Місяць тому

      @@darka53741 Everyone is speaking of this bug, but since Bedrock came on PS4 i have never had this happen, is this something that can be recreated, or am i just super lucky i still had some bugs but nothing gamebreaking? I spend 500+ h on bedrock edition and there are definetly things that are annoying, especially redstone working differently, but overall i think now bedrock edition is better than ever. Ofc doesn't change the fact that Java version is just so much better for modding

Search the nether to find another fortress that has a flying flame creature that drops blaze rod. Kill a bunch of Enderman to get their eyes, and use that a fortress. Find the portal to the dragon.
