I have 5 score boards, I started with the grooves in my ancient paper cutter. I found a wooden one just like yours but with a white scoring surface. Then I bought the large Martha board for the craft room, a medium Martha to work in front of the TV, and a mini for traveling. I can honestly say I don't have a preference, each of them serves its purpose well. I do admit to loving the British wooden one for it's character, though! Love these envelopes, the size is perfect for the journals I do so that wooden board will be getting more use.

Joie, excellent technique of giving an overview of what you were intending to teach us. My brain was ready for the details, I knew ahead of time what you intended to do, and I didn't have to waste thinking time trying to figure out/guess your intention...So easy that way! Dear Joie, finally gotten around to making these envelops. I loved it. My first turned a bit wonky but I turned it sideways and cut off the flap to make it work, used my circle punch to take out a piece so that I can slid a journal card in. The second time I paid more attention and this one turned out lovely. I've used paper from a 'fauna around Europe' book that has large yellowy pages with beautiful images. I love using this book. So pretty. Anyways, thanks for this one. I'm off to the next video. x Marieke

I took your advice while watching this & made a stack of them out of old random book pages. I couldn't believe how quickly you can do them once you get started. Thank you for this great video Joie. PS: I really appreciate the measurements you have on score board as I don't have one (yet) and was trying to guess. Also would love to buy a wooden one like yours, but can't find anywhere. I might have to settle for a regular plastic one. 🌺💖
The wooden one came from a local, small independent craft store. I have seen them now and again on Etsy but mostly they are plastic. Sounds like a super productive day!! 🥰👍💜

Great video! I use the envelope punch board but it's a bit hard when trying to decide on making your images work for the front if using book pages, sometimes when you think they're straight across, they really are diagonal when you're finished. This is a more precise way to make them, and could be adapted for any size you'd like. Thank you for teaching me a new way of making these! Love your videos, always, very helpful! TFS ~ L

PS After you score paper, you’re supposed to turn it over and fold into the hill rather than the indent. But don’t take my word for it. 😍 I did it wrong for years.

I've searched the entire web and no paper scoring board made out of wood. Not on etsy nor eBay, USA or UK 😟 It looks so easy with this board.
It does make it a bit easier made out of wood. Sorry that you can't find one. It will work with a plastic one.....the grooves are in the same place. 😪
