When I first saw people sewing on paper I thought no way am I going to use my sewing machine on paper. Then I remembered when I was in the 7th grade learning to sew we had to sew on paper. I love sew on paper, tags, envelopes, greeting card, making ruffles out of scraps. It is all a lot of fun. Really enjoying your videos. Thank you

i love sewing machines, i have kept a collection of really antique ones to the modern ones, in total i had 60 machines, and i kept them in my basement and didnt realize i had so many but never used a one! i tried them all but found i couldnt work with any of them, i had people come over and try to teach me but i couldnt do it! so all of my machines when into auction and in total they brought me 1000 dollars, and i used that to fill my fridge and cupboards with food, and found a hobby of crocheting. i scrapbook and journal on the side and the videos are fun to watch, but the crocheting came easy to me, ;)

My first craft is sewing. Learning to see on paper is an excellent way to learn to sew! It's a little like an artist painting in an old phone book. You aren't so "afraid" and you can be creative! It's just paper....not expensive fabrics!

Love what you do with your snippets. I have bags of paper and asked my hubby today if I could have a cheap sewing machine to use with my scrapbooking and cardmaking. I’m a crap sewer lol but I love the texture. This is an awesome idea. TFS. You make some amazing pockets and pages for your journal. Hi, love this tutorial its wonderful to see different ideas for pockets. Thank you. I love sewing and I love paper craft so being able to put the two together for me is a perfect combination. The stitches really add interest to the paper and using different coloured threads really make the items pop. My love of quilting comes alive too for patchwork paper patterns. Hello Ida....I think it should be possible to glue the two layers together rather than sew them. Then you can stick little extra pieces of paper and little pictures on top. I think it should work. Let me know how you get on!! Lovely to see you here, joie 🌿💜

You must be in quite a busy city...I can hear the horns honking faintly, lol...a sound I don't hear that often anymore as I moved to the edge of town some years ago. Easy pocket and can't wait to try!
That's interesting...I'm in the country but I do have a large and very old grandfather clock ticking next to me.....and maybe the audio has picked up the sound of the road some distance away. My sewing machine, which is 40 years old, has a small selection of stitch types, such as an undulating line, a zig-zag and hem stitch which looks like small points along the straight line. I am looking forward to incorporating those stitches into the snippet strips!

Hi Joie, I so love your thought process when your doing your embellishments or pockets. Just like you there are some things I love and some things not so much. My favourite at the moment is watching you decorating book pages that you have removed from an altered book, but unfortunately, I have tried so hard to love collaging, or ruffles, but, I just can’t fall in love with them. I think it’s like trying to love oysters or blue stinton cheese. 😩. Thank you so much for your tutorials, they are so inspiring and give me plenty of craft ideas. Are there things you don’t particularly like with junk journal trends? PS. so glad you now have a new sewing machine and I hope you have loads of fun. Take care 💕

Great pocket idea, I’ll definitely be trying this one! I have the same sewing machine and I love stitching around the edge of my projects using cotton in dark colours to contrast or if the item is dark I’d use cream or white xxx💕

I love the little sewing bug (machine). I'm not sure if you know, your thread tension is off. For the life of me I can not remember how to fix it. It is something I just do. lol. There should be a tension button or knob that you can adjust. Of course, maybe you are going for that look with the thread.
I need all the advice I can get....I know where the dial is but not which number it should be at..... should it be tighter or slacker? All ideas and help gratefully received!! 🥰
@@joiedefi I had to look at mine. It's at 3. Usually between 3 and 3.5 is good. You can play with it and see what works best. Sometimes I find that I need to redo the bobbin. I mean rethreading the machine. I hope I've helped and not hindered.
