I love the look of that guitar 🎸🎶 Awesome Detail in the head stock. The body has a beautiful finish. The roasted neck & fret board blend nicely with the finish of the guitar. The versatility of the guitar with the toggle coil splitter and the blade 3 way. The pickups sound great. If the tuners are great that's a great value guitar 🎸 Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃 🎸 🎵🎶
Thank You ! ! ! ! I really like this guitar even in its stock form the guitar does great at its price point. I have not upgraded anything on it.. I like the sounds it makes stock.... I have changed the strings and did a setup.... Setup I adjusted the truss rod and lowed the string action height a little. New set of 9-42 strings and it's all good ! Thank You ! This guitar is one of the best 150.00 dollars we have reviewed on the channel. I have this one and the Upgraded model with the blue Burl Top. Both are great.
I picked up the same guitar in a green blue finish…. It plays well, sounds excellent, it excels on clean sounds. Stays in tune. Quite impressive. Quite a deal !!!!
Ya this guitar hits well above its cost class. This guitar is hitting in the 700.00 price bracket all day long. it is a great deal even at it standard price.
Neck is chunkier than a Strat neck. This was my first time reviewing a guitar with this neck on it from Volgoa... I adjusted to it within 1o mins of playing.. I would say this is the BEST neck that Volgoa / Grote has made on their std solid body guitar models. At this price point ... You can try it and see if ya like it......@@thawthaw03
Blue one had a chunky thick neck…. Red version had an Ibanez style neck…. Do not know if that was just a freak thing or earlier and later production… I’m assuming these are all made by machines and not humans

How is it for a first time player in his 60's? Grew up listening to late 70's to 80's hard rock to metal and would aspire to play that kind of music and maybe some country??? Would love your opinion?
Music is Music . . . . The love for music goes passed a style or form. Classical arrangements are all though rock music. Blues.. again, all though rock music. So, these players loved those styles and used them to influence their own music. The guitar can bring out styles in your playing... You can call it... First you have to be inspired by something. In many cases the instruments tone and feel leads you down that road. The Love for Music... Don't put yourself in a box. Feel free to dive in an create what's in your heart.
I have found out that Volgoa and Grote and made in the same factory. They are using shared components that is for sure . . . But even then, each band does their own take on their shared model.
Man i wear a good quality set of earphones and to me the single coil in every position sounded as good as ive ever heard from any level instrument. P.S. im not into single i like humbuckers.😮
The pickups in this guitar I feel are better.... Than the upgraded model with the HPL finger board. I do like there HPL necks .... But this is the better out of the box guitar from Volgoa. If you spend the money and install new pickups on the HPL version... then ... I would go for that one. But out of the box ... This is the better guitar.
Is it. ???? I looked at some of their models. I didn't think it was the same. We need a 3rd person to check ! LOL I will go and look at more tonight and see. Making the same neck for 2 or 3 models will keep your cost down... I have found this neck on 3 models, 2 from Grote each have 6 colors and one from Volgoa in 2 colors.
I did not check.... But this is a easy job to put copper shielding tape in there. During my playing I had no problems with Hum... from lights or the DSP units that made me think It needed Shielding. This is still one of the best guitars I have reviewed at the 150.00 mark. Buy it when it goes on SALE !
Ya . . . When I was looking at it on Amazon.. They had a Red . . . The one I have and a Blue . . But the photo of the Blue one it looks Green.... Price was 185 with 21% off .. Thats 42 bucks off So 143.00 dollars with the coupon .. I think the body and the hardware is better on this one VS the Grote... The turning keys are spot on. They work great and very smooth! They both sound good... The Grote had more output to the pickups This guitar is more of a mid-mellow sound with a tang when in single coil mode. I think changing the pickups to a Seymour Duncan ’59 humbucking neck and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucking bridge pickup would just be ...100% spot on!
I bought two of them because the first one was so good…. The second one had a thinner neck profile … so I don’t know if this was a newer model later model … I bought one from Amazon and one direct …. The original one had a very chunky thick neck… the later one had an Ibanez style thinner neck… both are exactly the same on electronics, tuners, bridge and body ….. original from Amazon was blue, direct purchased one was red
It's funny you say that.... The Blue Burl top one has a thinner neck profile as well....But that has the older head stock design. But the electronics I didn't care for... Well, the pickups.. I plan on doing an upgrade video on that guitar.
I didn’t mind the pickups but the squeally feedback was terrible … I took out the pickups and submerged them in melted paraffin …. Squeal is gone and the pickups are useable at high volume… I would agree with you… better pickups would make it even better. I really appreciate your reviews … you are thorough and thoughtful… thank you for taking the time you do.. to do thorough reviews .

It could be that the factory has OEM neck designs ready to be be badged, or Volgoa and Grote are the same entity.
