If you are watching this as a non-vegan, I hope I will help explain why adopting a vegan lifestyle is necessary. For the wellbeing of the animals tortured and killed for their flesh and secretions. For the protection of the planet and all life that depends on it. For your health. Go to • GARY YOUROFSKY - The G... to hear the listen to the best speech you'll ever hear about animal rights. Go to www.challenge2... for meal suggestions and nutrition support.
If you are a vegan that doesn’t speak for the animals, I hope I can inspire you to open conversations with non-vegans. As vegans we have woken up to the systemic oppression of farmed animals, after abstaining from contributing to their suffering we must help others align their morals with their actions.

the carnist? you mean the other person? respect is a two way street... and you can say they are less than you because they eat meat but that's not a good way to be, having a superiority complex over dietary choices is a superiority complex nonetheless, doesn't matter how you justify it.

@@cstrongmanHuman animals who eat murdered nonhuman animals and/or consume stolen body secretions from nonhuman animals believe that those victims are less than them, don't they? Most of us were taught to devalue the lives of our victims in order to prevent any guilt or remorse. This learned habit of devaluing nonhuman animals (in order to exploit them, steal from them, and hurt/murder them, guilt-free) leads to human animals developing a "superiority complex". In sharp contrast, (authentic) vegans make the choice to stop devaluing the lives of other animal species, putting an end to the ugly "superiority complex" that non-vegans are still trapped in.
Have you ever considered your own learned "superiority complex" and how you see non-human animals as being less than yourself? Maybe it's time you did that.

You're a skilled interviewer/activist! I like seeing videos like this because it makes me feel not as alone with my beliefs. I don't know how we're all okay deciding which animals can live full lives and which can't. It's pretty awful. In some ways, I blame religion because Christianity essentially excuses our animal abuse by purporting that other animals don't have souls or an afterlife. Juxtapose that with Hinduism where cows are sacred and a large portion of Indians are vegetarian.
It's interesting that his main point is that it will be difficult to convince people to change their habits. It puts the onus on you when, actually, your job is just to provide the information. The onus is on him/others to *do* something with the information. If he chooses not to, he can't hide behind the idea that it's not unethical or harmful (to the animals, to the human body, to the planet). With the information he now knows, he would have to acknowledge that he is acting in ways directly opposite to his spoken values. I think that realization is what he was trying to run away from! He wants to be ethical, but also wants the pleasure of animal meat

This guy keeps pointing to others, the government, them, as if his actions don't matter. If each individual just stopped eating animal derived products or wearing them, we would be better off and most importantly, we would stop the industrial scale exploitation, abuse and torture of innocent lives. Some of these animals don't live longer than a few weeks and some less so. They don't see daylight, feel grass, the sunlight or their mothers comfort that they crave and seek out as babies, just as we humans do. Individuals like this guy that thinks all that suffering is ok as long as they taste good for him is hard to believe....I mean, the degree of selfishness and gluttony, yet he has endless other choices. It's not like he has to climb Everest to get them. They are all around him. Still too hard for him. 😠

Did you know that it takes 17kg of soy to produce 1kg of beef? Also 80-90% of soy is fed to cattle! Its extremely inefficient to consume meat and dairy, eating a plant-based diet actually reduces the animals killed enormously and we could instead be feeding the 10% of humans which are currently not able to access food. Also Im not trying to stop animals from eating other animals, but humans are doing it on a scale which is causing unmeasurable amounts of suffering and it is destroying the environment and having bad effects on our health. Don't take my word for it, have a look at studies, there's a lot out there now. Look at research done by the American Dietetic Association, British Dietetic Association and the UN.

what is really strange is why so many vegan activists decide to ask for donations, considering that something similar is not so prominent in activists who do not focus their activism on veganism. one gets the impression they would happily accept donations for advocating even diametrically opposite views to those they currently hold.

I am not trying to profit, just trying to find a way to commit as much time as possible to my activism in the hopes to reduce animal suffering. Through my activism I am very out of pocket with equipment and legal costs, donations are a way of giving those who aren't able to do their own activism to help me out and in turn help the movement a bit.

Though are you in a time of necessity? If you have plant-based options available then why not choose them? They are better for your health, better for the environment and reduce the animals being killed. What's not to like? :) Don't take my word for it, have a look at studies done by the American Dietetics Association & British Dietetics Association.

@@Amber.For.Animals Just because there is an alternative does not means it's inherently a healthy option. The amount of monosaturated fat in imitation meat is insane. Never the less, there are many choices ones makes that can bring net negative social cost. UA-cams data servers come at a cost to overall society even. So does almonds, they are also awful for the environment. We would have to now go and pick out every single aspect of our lives and declare it unsustainable.
Eating meat is ingrained in hundreds of cultures, if not how many religions require meat for certain religious meals and traditions.
Sure there are diets where you can meat all the macro and micro nutrients, but it requires WAY more effort than any diet should.

Hello, carnist! You are only ominvorous because you choose to consume that way. We have the privilege of choice. If you don't like the apt and reasonable term that we use for people who exploit animals, simply change your ways and I can say "hello, herbivore!" instead next time.

There are lots of things we have the ability to do that we don't.

We are not. Every part of our body is that of a herbivore. From our longer intestines, to our eyes, to our legs and body shape, to our jaws. TRUE omnivores don't get heart disease from eating animals. Cholesterol and saturated fat, from animals causes the #1 killer of humans. Mic The Vegan has a good video breaking down every body part and says, The #1 killer of humans is PRETENDING to be omnivores. Dr. Mills Milton also has a video, again breaking down the science of every body part and where it falls on the scale of carnivores, or herbivores and we fall in herbivores EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
People are opportunistic omnivores NOT biological omnivores.
But, let's say that wasn't the case. You still have no justification for eating animals except it tastes good. That's like saying, you rape women because it feels good. It's pure evil. And you will realize that one day. Your words are out there forever and you are on the wrong side of history.

such a funny (sad?) and interesting thing when people get confronted with so many different things they can't process / haven't thought about and just shut down and leave the conversation. He couldn't come up with any excuses at the end, so rather than conceding, he walked away

So true, this man told me after I stopped recording that he was "playing devil's advocate". He clearly wasn't but just used that as a defence mechanism, I think walking away when he had no more excuses is just another defence mechanism. He didn't verbally concede but in his actions he did. Whether he likes it or not the seed has been planted 🌱 With time I hope he reflects on our conversation and makes more compassionate choices
