Why not add load cells to kiln support platform then drying could be contioously monitored by weight and moister content would be known before opening the kiln? No moisture metering sending units would need to be inside kiln. Moister content accuracy would be close to absolute for entire load. Gross weight at start less net weght at end of cycle machine (target weight for specific % of moister content) would tell user how many lites/gallons removed and kiln could be set to stop when target weight is achieved automating further your process and saving the user both operating energy and labor spent monitoring during drying progress while maximizing thruput for your machine thru kiln stopping when target weight is achieved. Thank you for the suggestion, Ray. While adding load cells to monitor weight and moisture content is an interesting idea, we’ve found that sensors at the bottom of the kiln tend to have high failure rates. Instead, we use sensors that accurately measure water output during drying. These sensors precisely track the amount of water removed, allowing the kiln to stop automatically when the target moisture content is reached. This method improves efficiency by saving energy and reducing the need for manual monitoring.
