no shade, but this is not the time or the place to bog down this accomplishment with "but what about fair skin"....dark skin people have been maliciously and strategically, AND purposely left of beauty (not just foundations, just very little visibility in so many ways, too many to name here) so please do not try to compare the struggle of not finding a light enough foundation to the struggle of darker skinned people. It is not the same struggle and it never will be. IF you genuinely have an issue with the lack of lighter shades I would recommend expressing your concerns directly to the brand or creating your own platform just like I did. Because until it became a trend, people with lighter skin sure as hell were not speaking up for us for years. Enough is enough, and I will not allow people to try to steal MORE shine from people who have been overlooked for years. Not today and not on this platform. tis all! -management
I saw someone sitting next to me at the nail shop watching and I started singing the song but felt weird because I was like please know what I’m talking about and not think I’m weird lol
Y’all I’m super super fair. Like, 90% of the lightest shades of foundation are never light enough for me, fair, so I understand the light-skin tone struggle. HOWEVER, I will never ever understand why people feel the need to diminish the excitement surrounding a shade range that actually caters to darker skin tones by complaining about the lack of lighter shades!! If the only thing you have to worry about is whether or not there’s a foundation shade light enough for you (and whether or not you put enough sunscreen on before you went outside) you’ve got it pretty good. I mean really, some of yalls privilege is showing.
@@jaylajordan1685 that doesn't mean we should be hypocrites...I'm happy that yall finally have a Drugstore brand that black people can finally find their shade...However there are people for example with Vilitigo and have really fair skin so it's hard for them to find a shade that matches their skin tone that's why people are mad
Eva Kydonaki Some people with vitlligo are black believe it or not. And the only reason I’m defending this foundation is because there are light shades. I swear I brand can make a literal white foundation and pale people will still complain that it’s too dark. I’m not being a hypocrite, if the shade range was actual trash I’d agree with the pale people. But it’s not.
Fenty really paved a way for everyone. After her makeup line it became the expectation to have many shades to cater to the lightest of light and the darkest of dark. Thank God for Rihanna!
I'm clearly white and late to the party but I cannot BELIEVE people left comments crying about light shades. Go slap on some Tarte shape tape or something, damn. Always trying to be the center of attention.
Mar Mar Affirmative Action. Get over it. People of lighter skin can look towards an infinite amount of products to find something that will suit them. People of darker skin tones can only look towards a limited amount. You have no grounds to cry foul when the playing field is not even.
OfferingProTips yes! as someone of south asian background, yellow is very hard to find. I'm lightskin but VERY yellow. It makes me look sorta tan but sorta not so much..
As a flight attendant I'm ALWAYS looking for super long wear foundation, when you fly 16 hours to Asia, I'm so excited to find a super long wear foundation so I stop looking like my face melted by hour 10 lol But thank you so much for your reviews! I always look forward to your humorous and super honest reviews!
XZombieXFighter X I hadn't either that's something to think about when you're on Long flights and you don't want to look crazy when you get to where you're going
Listen, I’m white and it’s so annoying that other people are coming on here talking about “what about lighter tones?” I’ve never had an issue finding my shade, that’s not the same for people of color. Still in 2018 we have huge brands releasing foundations with no shades for darker tones. Tarte...Beauty Blender. Just be happy that this is a product that hopefully has a shade for everyone with darker skin and stfu about how you THINK you have a struggle finding a foundation for light skin. End rant
Laura Rowe I’m glad that you can find your shade, whereas I’ve tried many of the lightest shades of foundation and they’ve all been too dark for me. Honestly you stfu. Don’t get me wrong I’m extremely happy that there are much more inclusive brands that have come out with lots of shades for deeper darker tones, while I’m also frustrated about how some brands don’t have enough deeper darker shades. That being said I still don’t think it’s right for those of us that have very pale skin to miss out either. It’s not a good mentality to say, “well for years they never made any deep dark shades for us, so we’re not going to make shades for extremely pale people” two wrongs don’t make a right.
@@nellienelson9415 Look online. This is an expansion of the shade range. They already have a ton of light shades, the lightest being practically white. You're included, hun. Happy now?
Nellie Nelson you’re the perfect example of exactly what I’m talking about. You can find your shade boo! Lighter shades are MUCH more abundant in every brands shade range than darker shades are. That’s facts. You’re dismissed.
Laura Rowe mhmmmm ok, sure..... that wasn’t really my whole point of of commenting, but I’m not going to waste my time trying to tell a narrow-headed, shallow-minded person something that they don’t want to hear.
THE INTRO THO 🤣🤣 CAN YOU BELIEVE OTHER UA-camRS REVIEWED THIS FOUNDATION AND *DID NOT* MENTION ALISSA AT ALL...GUUURRLLLL, I CAUGHT AN ATTITUDE ABT THAT!! LOVE U BOTH😘😘😘
Too Much Awesomeness 🤣🤣 2 UA-camrs did it!! I was so annoyed 🤔 If you search for NYX Cant stop foundation reviews, you will find it as there are not that many yet. Mine goes up next week😘😘
As someone with very light skin, yeah, it's hard for me to find a foundation color match, but at least I know that their lack of my color is not racially motivated! The struggles of women of color trying to buy foundation simply cannot be compared to that of pale girls. It is NOT THE SAME.
@@Kate-ll9qo omg thank you. I have albinism and I can never find the right shade. I'm not sure if I would say it's racially motivated.... Maybe it is. But I'm here for my chocolate sisters being able to find their shades everywhere
Guys the shades she showed isn't the whole range, it's the darker shades because shes darker. Looks online. The range has a ton of light shades, the lightest being practically white.
Their light shade range needs work, however, kudos to them for making it so WOC have shades they can actually use now and have shades to actually choose from. I don't mind having to wait for the next launch of shades to come out for me to be able to try this, but I really don't think you should sit here and say that there's enough shades for us hella pale girls cause there isn't. That lightest shade won't work for me, I could use a white mixer but the undertone is all wrong...looking forward to a shade expansion so I can try this out!
AutumnClockWork the light shade does not need work this line was specifically created for the all different types of deep dark to medium deep skin tones etc
Not only is this an AMAZING shade range, but the pics they put out for it has boys in it!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! I’m LOVIN the direction NYX went with this! Thank you Alissa!!!
raven rutledge because I feel again that the buyers for the stores also ignore WOC’s needs. It’s ridiculous and infuriating that these companies have ignored this issue for so long! I obviously can’t even imagine your frustrations but I can sure be angry for you!
Jackie! Your continuous fight for the visibility and accessibility of products for darker skin tones will never go unrewarded. We need more voices like yours ❤Thank you for supporting and celebrating your fellow content creators
I really like that the PR package has the dark shades at the top. Usually foundation is displayed from lightest to darkest, but I like the change. I think it’s a subtle way to draw focus to those shades and show the care that went into making them. I could be reading into it a little more than necessary.
HOLD UP, hold up. I just went to Allisa Ashley’s channel and there are pale shades. Number 1 is basically white as paper. Y’all didn’t do any research and just started complaining. GO WATCH HER VIDEO.
If you guys are mad that you cant find your LIGHT shade, then go check the other 50 million foundation options you have. Let darker skin tones have their spotlight!
bee the keyword being SUPER, it is hard for really really really pale skinned to find a match, however poc, especially black people, whose skin tone may not even be dark dark, still find it more difficult to find a good foundation that matches them 🤷♂️
I was at the store today and L’Oréal has 45 shades or something but they literally had ONE deep shade available. Everything was beige to medium. So to sit there and watch a review from Jackie and turn around and talk shit to her for speaking on shade range is ignorant af.
Alyssa Torres more then likely its the store you went to. I had to go to the walmart in the hood for my shade because the one by my house has every beige in history
AND it’s cruelty free! NYX and Wet N Wild and LA Colors have been killing the drugstore game and none of them test on animals Meanwhile Revlon Covergirl Maybelline and Rimmel...
I don't get why people are shading it in terms of pale colors, John Maclean just did a review too and he said it passes his pale test, and hes as white as Casper
Kaleb H It seems you're unaware that White/Pale skin isn't just one shade lol there are different undertones so even if it works for ONE pale person's skin doesn't mean it fits every pale person
@Ashley Gomez are you serious? so youre saying YOURE mad because this 1 company doesnt have a white enough foundation shades when there are SOOOO MANY other brands that you could picked from that other people with deeper complexions cant. girl bye .. mind u im white and im really glad they're finally coming out with a variety of deeper shades not just 2-3.
OK I feel like a fool I’ve been watching the Manny and lara Leach scandals throughout the past couple days and totally forgot about real content. Definitely hit that builds to get your notifications. Love your energy
I feel so privileged for experiencing what you mentioned about "having too many options in shades" every single time I purchase a foundation. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm so happy you finally have your voice heard. Now I'd better shut up and listen. :)
Jackie can you PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE do a video that goes over the different undertones in foundation!!!!!!! Like having two foundations side by side showing us this is what a cool toned foundation looks like or this is what a warm toned foundation look like?!!!!!! Pleaseeeeeeee❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
About a year and a half ago L’Oreal took over NYX and that’s why some of the prices have went up because of the more higher quality. I have always thought that NYX had an amazing shade range for all skin colors🙌🏾 they been winning 💕
Lemonade Stand they are, but a brands Parent company does not effect what a brand produces. L'oreal also owns Lancóme, Urban Decay, It Cosmetics, and YSL. Maybelline and Nyx although they share a parent company will never be on the same level as L'oreal's luxury brands. The brands also dont use the same labs, NYX as their own lab, as does Urban Decay. So even though Maybelline may have an amazing shade range in the Fit Me, the parent company doesn't ensure the same range for even YSL.
This just proves that it’s not that hard for cosmetic companies to be more inclusive. Any excuses they give to the contrary are bullshit *cough*beauty blender*cough*
Mel Mel i mean im black, just albino. I dont get a shade? I get people want darker shades but i meaaannn.... Inclusive means everyone. Not just darker or lighter. Every single skintone
It's a version of the chickenpox virus, when you don't get the full chickenpox with the blisters etc. That's when you get the shingle virus in your system and it comes and goes as it pleases, usually brought on by stress.
I’ve had it 3 times - it’s horrifically painful - but I must be lucky af because each time I’ve had it it only lasted about 4 weeks. But those four weeks were pure hell.
I am white and I am living that they did this for all my dark and medium skin sisters! This is giving me faith in humanity yet again! Just know I am all in support of this foundation launch! Love you Jackie! 😍😘
If you dry out your skin it will sweat more to create moisture. So if you happen to have very oily skin, stop using foundation and skincare that contains certain types of alcohol (E.g. *SD alcohol, denatured alcohol, or, isopropyl alcohol* ). There are also other types of alcohols called fatty alcohols that don't irritate and dry out the skin (E.g. *cetyl, stearyl, and cetearyl alcohol* ) so maybe look out for these, next time you buy skin products xx
I'm not even that dark but where I come from, it's quite hard to find foundations that match my skin tone. I'm so happy that more people like you are using your platform to advocate PoCs in the beauty world. Keep up the good work, Jackie and Alissa!
There’s 45 shades in this foundation. did any of the people complaining think about the fact that Jackie only showed the dark shades because those are the ones that she received in PR? What I would really like to know, is why is it that every time POC get anything made with them in mind do all the Becky’s and the Susie’s come out trolling with the “you didn’t include lighter people” ? But when companies like beauty blender ( who is technically a POC because she definitely isn’t white) and Tarte come out with shit that has 4 nondescript shades of Donald Trumps orange ass and basically says “here dark skins, these are for you” does the white crusaders never come talking about the lack of dark shades? For yearssss light skin was the focus of beauty and now that POC are getting a foot on the ground you all want to come and take that away and talk about hypocrisy, nah i just think that some of y’all don’t want to see dark skins do well for themselves. Don’t cover the truth with bullshit about light skin not being included.
Kaisha Marie I don’t think anyone can argue because there are enough shades for all races! Many for deep, plenty for dark, medium, olive, fair... it’s extremely inclusive. I’m surprised people are still complaining.
Camila G Ummmmm....are you mad that people that aren't black think of them as equals? OKAY THEN! If someone takes credit for it then yeah that's an issue. But you literally just said that your tired of white people trying to fight for equality between races and that you want them to stop.....
As a light skinned girl myself, fair people should stop complaining that you don’t have a light enough shade in this one foundation . We have so many products we can choose from. That is not the case for many darker skin people. It’s okay that not every foundation line is made for us. Instead of being mad that one foundation line doesn’t cater to your skin tone, kindly go pick from the hundreds that do. Edit: this isn't saying that the range couldn't be more inclusive in it's shade range. It could definitely have a bunch of lighter shades so more people find a match. However, not having these lighter shades is not direct or indirect oppression of people who have your skin tone. Many brands do not cater to darker skinned people due to long held bias in the beauty industry. This is why I'm saying that it's okay that for this one line that darker skin is celebrated and people in that shade range have options.
Emily Y it’s not about that though. It’s about equality. This shade range doesn’t cater to extremely light skin tones, so by saying this shade range is a good show of equality is wrong. It’s equity. There’s a difference. My problem isn’t with the shade range, it’s with people thinking it’s fair to leave ANY skin tone out. Light or dark. And I feel as though since Jackie is such an advocate for shade ranges, she should’ve spoke out about it. But I’ve seen in the comments that people are saying if you’re upset, go on a pale gurus page and complain, which isn’t fair. After the whole Tarte Shape Tape Foundation debacle, NikkieTutorials got absolutely slammed for not talking about the lack of darker shades, and rightly so. But when Jackie chooses to ignore and praise the line for its "inclusivity" she’s a queen. It doesn’t add up. Instead of equity, we need equality. To me, a good shade range would be 50, with 10 fair, 10 light, 10 medium, 10 deep and 10 deep dark. That’s equality. Not this shade range.
ava hutton except, you’re looking at this from way too close. You need to pull back a step, and look at the cosmetic industry as a whole. Does a light skinned person have a large product pool to choose from, within the entire cosmetic industry? YES. Does a person of color? NO. One company comes out with shades for a generally ignored demographic, and you’re out here yelling about equality? Honey this IS equality. Big picture.
This foundation looks way less matte than people were trying to say. I was expecting dried up Elmer's glue. I'll probably use oil drops with this. Long wearing makeup + oil drops is heaven for me
This isn't about us white people, this is about inclusive and respectable shade ranges. Some of these comments are ridiculous and it just doesn't make sense to me. I'm awful at matching my shade, and I can never find one that matches me 💯 but that's because I'm shit at matching it. I have 4000 different ones to find one that does match, but for PoC to get 4 options is a joke and I'm 100% here to watch the makeup community flourish in inclusiveness! Sisters and brothers of every colour should have the option to look and feel bomb, be here to support the process, it's not a YOU thing it's an US thing 💞
AmyM& Beauty clearly whoop whoop chicken soup is an intellectual. He’s above answering your liberal snowflake SJW questions. But guuurl. My eyes immediately caught that. I fucking love nyx. I think that’s a huge statement that said “darker skin tones are not an after thought.”
This is exactly what I was going to comment. There are a plethora of options for pale skin (I am the lightest shade in almost all foundation ranges) so it is just unfair to whine about this range. I'm happy that there are so many options!!
the amount of "I'm white but" in this comment section. Sis, no one is doin a nationality check . But for real tho when can I get this un the UK because I'm trying to glow like auntie Jackie here sooo .....
The thing about fair skinned people is that they are part of the “light skinned” category. Your struggle is that they don’t have that ONE shade that will fit you. Dark skinned people’s struggle is that there aren’t any shades for then”dark” category at all. It’s not that they don’t go dark enough, it’s that they don’t go dark AT ALL. They stop at medium. It would be an issue if there were never any fair or light shades at all in a foundation, but that never happens. An entire race of people shouldn’t have to search for days to find their shade. Fair skinned isn’t a race, it’s just a very light skinned (usually) Caucasian person. It’s not like there aren’t light shades, there just aren’t enough. You’ve also got to think about concealers, powders, bronzers, blushes. Those all cater to light or medium skinned people. Never dark skinned. Just saying, fair people not having a shade isn’t as big or as obvious of a problem as anyone with medium-tan to rich people not having a shade. If every shade is beige then it’s quite obvious who they want their demographic to be.
G Cool exactly. I have a hard time finding a light shade but I stay in my lane and stfu because it’s not even close to the same! I don’t understand how people can think it’s okay to complain about light shades.
Daisy M. So suddenly Alissa Ashley’s Cant Stop Wont Stop, Jackie Aina’s Born This Way, Beauty Bakery, & Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty dont exist? Sis, quit whining about dark skinned people finally getting their damn shades and keep pushin
Yekatrina Petrovna Zamolodchikova your only saying that because your light they are just coming out with these foundations it’s not like they have been out for years so we can complain all we want thank you 😊
This is really awesome. The fact that a cheaper/drugstore brand was able to create this many shades and such a diverse range is wonderful.(Loreal Tru-match has a lot of shades too, but most aren't carried in stores so what's the point?) WOC have been having to buy expensive ass Estee Lauder or Lancome foundations because finding a shade that matched in any of the more affordable brands has been next to impossible. I hope the other drugstore brands pay attention. Nyx & Alyssa killed this. Also, for the pale complainers, please go swatch the shades in store instead of just immediately complaining . The pale shades actually go very light and are quite diverse. Let them enjoy their moment. This is a big deal for them and a step in the right direction for drugstore brands.
You're absolutely right about your skin's oil production. (Raises hand) third-year Biomedical Science student, here 🙂 In people with oily skin, the more dehydrated the skin is, the more oil it produces. It's over-producing oil to try and prevent further moisture loss, because the oils trap moisture in the skin. The best ways to combat deeper dehydration of oily skin are by: a) Deeply hydrating the skin using the Korean 7 Skin Method. It involves applying up to 7 layers of a watery, hydrating, alcohol-free, non-exfoliating toner, like the Etude House collagen toner or the Skinfood tomato toner. Collagen is a humectant, which draws moisture deeper into the skin and holds it there, while tomato extract brightens & evens out the complexion. b) Supporting the skin's moisture barrier. When the moisture barrier is strong, the skin doesn't need to produce so much oil to protect & reinforce it. Using a low-pH cleanser is important for this, because a high-pH cleanser is bad for the moisture barrier. Cosrx has 2 excellent low-pH cleansers that are gentle enough for the most sensitive & acne-prone skin. Their low-pH morning cleanser has acne-fighting ingredients, while their low-pH milk-gel cleanser doesn't. Topical ceramides (the pill kind do nothing, but applying ceramides topically works great) are fantastic for the moisture barrier, so any serums or creams that contain ceramides, like the Dr Jart+ and Holika Holika ceramide ranges, can be a huge help. I hope this is helpful to you and anyone else who sees this! If anyone has questions, please ask away 🙂
Wow this is so informative. Do you know of any brands that offer the 7 step Korean method? Also, if my skin was oily and is now suddenly really painful to the touch (I'm currently using benzoyl peroxide) what can I do?
Alissa and Jackie are the real damn deal when it comes to clarity, integrity, and advocating for diversity even when it isn't 'trendy.' It's so amazing to see BOTH of these powerful women being recognised by brands as sources of invaluable insight. 15 shades who? We don't know her. We're running with a shade range more than twice that now 👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿
pinkdimples msp everyone should be winning. And having makeup brands realize that there’s 50 shades of brown along with beige is long overdue. Have a good day.
Girlllll.... your skin is STUNNING.... I am sooooo excited to try this foundation, and everyone needs to keep talking about diversity in shade ranges to force brands to do the right thing. Whether people do it to be "cool" or not. It helps. Lol. That's something we should tweet about.....🤣🤔🙌
IM CRYINGGGGGG the dance in the beginning 😂😂 haven’t heard that song in YEARS! You’re legit the only beauty blogger that makes me laugh out loud on every video you’re seriously the best Jackie 😂
Let me say this again for the ppl in the back: I think everyone is missing the point. If you get a pale beauty guru to advocate for more paler shades beauty companies would simply give in because their white. Now compare that to black beauty gurus, note the plural because it takes A LOT of us, who have to constantly beat it through the beauty industries head that we exist, and we need some darker shades. We get offended because no ever wants to say "WHat AboUt Me" until we speak up, for years might I add, and finally get some progress. Y'all never wanna speak up until we get out our way thinking "oh they got it, so now we can too". We put in effort and energy. We REPRESENT our fellow P.O.C because if we don't no one will. So, don't expect us to advocate for y'all if y'all can't even do it for yourself.
For those arguing about the shade range , this foundation goes super light too. Stop hating on her, I work in cosmetics and it’s extremely difficult to find shade ranges in drugstore foundation for deeper skin
@Mar Mar what is your obsession you wierdo. Where were you when they were literally Zippo!! NADA!! Shades of darker tones? Where you trolling every single UA-cam comments on these companies PR crusading for equal rights? Bloody hypocrite. I hope I see you crusading on these companies platforms fighting for your darker sisters struggles. All lives matter idiot.
Yasssss I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on this foundation. I am one of those brown skinned girls that is deep neutral with a bit of warmth. I AM NOT RED! The struggle is so real to find my perfect shade in foundation. I have always found workable, but not perfect. So I am praying this works because ya girl is combo/oily too.
idk what yall are talkin abt i think thats a pretty good range for the lighter shades.. i dont feel left out at all. personally im 120 in fenty (which is one of the lightest shades if youre too lazy to look it up) and i'm pretty sure nyx covered me. i mean, how many shades of the same white color do yall want? just accept there are more colors than white and move on lol buh bye
I never saw Fenty products in person because I live in Croatia and we don't have Sephora, but can you tell how close is 120 to MAC SFF NW10, Revlon Colorstay 110 Ivory, or WetnWild Photo Focus Soft Ivory? :)
ElectricStormXX I wear Fenty 120, maybelliene fit me 105 liquid and 110 powder, the wet and wild light ivory is a little off for me but works okay, L’Oréal true match n2 was okay. The lighter kat von d shades felt off, and I feel that the too faced snow and swan can work for me also. Did that give you some comparison?
My problem is I’ve got pale dry skin. And matte foundations always have the best range for some reason, why dewy skin is always to yellow and tanned for me. Even in the lightest shade.
I have so many feelings. 1. Yay Alissa, congratulations!🥂 2. THIS SHADE RANGE. YESSSS! 😍 3. Jackie... flawless as always.💎 4. Yay Dennis! We're glad you are on the mend ❤
I just picked this foundation up today and I love it already! I'm veeeeeeeeery pale and I loved how many undertones there were! Often the very deep and very light tones only have one or two options. I finally wasn't the lightest shade!
1)I’ve literally been thinking about Dennis everyday since I found out he wasn’t well. Glad he’s feeling better. 2) YES. On the Mac video 3) Your makeup is on piz-oint. As per usual.
Girl I don’t see any disparity in the shade range! There is literally a row for everyone! Fair shades have 8 options! Light shades have 8 options! Medium to deep have 8 options! Deep have 8 options! Deep dark have 8 options! 45 shades! I work in a store where they sell cosmetics and I never once heard anyone who was fair/light ever complain there were not enough deep shades..just excited they could find their shade! When Tarte and Beauty Blender came out with their 10 shades for deeper tones( which I added both of them together..Beauty Blender had 4 and Tarte had 6) I read most of the reviews and our fair friends never complained about shades...girl bye!
Seriously, I think they killed it with the shade range. I used to be a MUA and I always hated that matching WOC was impossible because of the lack of depth and the wrong undertones. I'm glad that everyone is finally getting a chance to find a match!
I was pretty darn ticked off about tarte and beauty blender. Just saying. And I don't plan on buying any brands that don't work with more people's skin. I refuse to support a brand that doesn't include a BIG portion of the world's skin tones. Like, shit, more people look like her on this planet than look like me! Regardless; they aren't getting my money. Nyx will. Fenty will. I'm waiting on a few others to come out, but I have some hopes!
i'm half hispanic, half caucasian. Despite my hispanic side, i am very light and ivory. I've always had issues finding my shade, solely because my undertones are so weird and everything appears yellow-orange on me. However, this foundation had a _perfect_ match for me! (shade light ivory) I have combo skin and it didn't break down in my oily spots, and didn't dry me out in my dry spots. It's honestly one of the best foundations I've ever used, and it's by far the best match I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend!
24 hour claim is just to make people think ‘damn this lasts forever’ but tbh it’s good for girls like me who work a graveyard shift Sunday night then goes straight to school after that then a quick break before going to work again.
I have beef with anyone who says the shade range isn’t diverse in regards to lighter shades. If you go to Alyssa Ashleys channel and watch her video, she swatches all the shades on her arm and there’s like 10 shades that are white as snow..... There’s SO many shades, both light, dark and everything in between. I’m an NW10 (aka snow white) and I could wear at least 5 shades in this line.
I agree with not complaining about the light shade range but saying their white as snow on her arm??? like no shit she's not fair skinned so of course it's going to be white as snow swatched on her?? swatch those swatches on a real snow white girl and we can see how fair the shades actually go
My point is people aren't going to stop bitching until they can actually see how fair the shades are on an actual fair person, until the pale beauty youtubers come out with swatches the bitching and moaning will continue (and for those of us lighter than NW10, like myself, just get a white mixer it's not that hard)
Hey Auntie!!! I just came here to say a HUGE THANK YOU for the shoutout on your instastory!!! You have no idea what it means to me!! You're the freaking best!! God bless and enlarge you in Jesus name!!! Love you Mama!!!
Disclaimer: before I bought it I understood that it was mat but I didn’t realize how mat it was. If you have eczema this is not going to be the product for you: because the product went so Mat on my dry skin it cracked and peeled product; my skin got really hot and irritated. I hope they come out with a moisturizing version of the product
I can't stand the people saying "what about light shades?". If you want to see lighter shades, go search another video. That simple. I'm a very fair skinned person, but I love watching Jackie's vids because she is always 100% honest and my main thing with foundations are the finish and consistancy, which she never fails to go into depth about.
im like, shade 01 in the nyx total control foundation and seeing these "what about fair skin" comments im like??? buy LITERALLY ANY other foundation. literally any brand any line, other than this. go outside. shut the fuck up. buy another one.
Awww I'm so glad he's Ok!! You had us worried!!!! I had shingles about a year ago. It really isn't fun so I'm glad he's doing better! And also, I will be looking for that foundation!!!! So glad I'll be able to fine my shade and it's matte!!
👏👏👏👸When Queen Jackie reminded everyone that the beauty industry has been sleeping on its largest consumers. There are photos of me in my 20's looking like I was in white face and don't get me started on how Tawny Fauve by cover girl was the only shade I could find for years. We started from the bottom, now we're here. 😘
For the record, you do have to wait till the foundation dries down till you see the true color. With that being said, when I was at Ulta today, I thought I could have been like 3 or 4 different shades (they didn't have all of testers out for me to swatch) and that has never happened! So many olives and yellows to choose from! 😱 Yay! 🤗
Honestly, I totally forgot because I've been a CoverFX girl for years, so I already know what my shades are during the summer and winter. 😊 I also forgot how much product can come out in one pump! So I had these globs of Born this Way and Can't Stop on the top of my hand with some big swatches along my jawline and on my chest waiting for everything to dry, while trying not to knock into anything with the tester hand. Ugh. I was just so excited to try different shades between the two! 😁 Since today is the official launch in Ulta stores, I will go back this week and retry again with a less heavy✋hand. 😉
well when you compare it to THAT of course that's cheap. i wasnt talking about this foundation product in particular. but alot of their eyeshadows/eyeshadow products are pretty up there for "drugstore"
It's not dirt cheap though... if you wanna compare it to some expensive ass foundation then yeah, it's a lot less.. but for drugstore that's up there. Maybe for you it is because you have the money to buy bougie foundation or something but a lot of people have voiced it as being a bit pricey.
Lord I didn’t even know makeup for darker skinned people had come so far. I’ve stopped wearing makeup for a long while now but your making me interested again. 😍😍😍😘 keep doing what you do.
I just have to say that although I’m in the fair/light shade range, I love watching your tutorials because they’ve taught me sooo much about undertones. Many of the fair/light shade range youtubers don’t really teach about undertones, cool warm neutral, and I just love that you teach about these things. It’s super helpful, even for me to apply to my shade. So thanks lovey! ♥️
Why do pale people want her to fight for them, when I don’t see any pale beauty vloggers fighting for darker shades inclusion or lighter, for that matter?
no shade, but this is not the time or the place to bog down this accomplishment with "but what about fair skin"....dark skin people have been maliciously and strategically, AND purposely left of beauty (not just foundations, just very little visibility in so many ways, too many to name here) so please do not try to compare the struggle of not finding a light enough foundation to the struggle of darker skinned people. Not today and not on this platform. tis all!

I don’t think because other brands left some of their shades out means it’s right for them to do the same. So hypocritical and ignorant.
Too bad she didn't make a shade for me.

@Mar Mar yes it is.
Mar Mar Affirmative Action. Get over it. People of lighter skin can look towards an infinite amount of products to find something that will suit them. People of darker skin tones can only look towards a limited amount. You have no grounds to cry foul when the playing field is not even.

End rant
Laura Rowe thank you. As a very dark person, I am very thankful for this comment. Like.

As someone with very light skin, yeah, it's hard for me to find a foundation color match, but at least I know that their lack of my color is not racially motivated! The struggles of women of color trying to buy foundation simply cannot be compared to that of pale girls. It is NOT THE SAME.

Alyssa Torres more then likely its the store you went to. I had to go to the walmart in the hood for my shade because the one by my house has every beige in history
the best part is they have all them beiges but their ivory is like yellow so only the middle range can use it.

“White men were trying to get credit for it” 😂😂😂😂😂 THE SHADE MS. JACKIE!

Camila G Ummmmm....are you mad that people that aren't black think of them as equals? OKAY THEN! If someone takes credit for it then yeah that's an issue. But you literally just said that your tired of white people trying to fight for equality between races and that you want them to stop.....
Camila G uh what the fuck
Camila G and y’all get mad when they stay quiet??? No one is ever happy jfc.
riot grrrl be careful with that “y’all” shit when addressing the black community.
Albino people say hi.
ava hutton 👏👏
ava hutton except, you’re looking at this from way too close.

Sisters and brothers of every colour should have the option to look and feel bomb, be here to support the process, it's not a YOU thing it's an US thing 💞

nyx has other foundation lines that cater to pale shades so why are you mad that they made another foundation line that caters to darker skin?
ya seen this because they are different formulas. i cant even try this foundation because there isn’t a shade light enough for me that isn’t pink.
Esther Acquah it’s already in the uk in most boots
I love this comment😂
*ethnicity check 😉 but it's all good🙂
The thing about fair skinned people is that they are part of the “light skinned” category.
Every dark person complains about the shade range, zero are making a makeup brand that caters to the dark skinned girl
Daisy M. So suddenly Alissa Ashley’s Cant Stop Wont Stop, Jackie Aina’s Born This Way, Beauty Bakery, & Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty dont exist? Sis, quit whining about dark skinned people finally getting their damn shades and keep pushin
Daisy M. Girl do your research
Yekatrina Petrovna Zamolodchikova your only saying that because your light they are just coming out with these foundations it’s not like they have been out for years so we can complain all we want thank you 😊
YASSSSS You better go off with this intro!!!!!!! JACKIE
Amelianna Right!! 😂💖
Had to immediately stop all of the other things I was doing to watch this quality content.
itsmegabby yessss
itsmegabby stopped doing homework to watch
ariah Thank you so much! That's so sweet. Of course I'll subscribe back!
How are you swatching w a white shirt, I'm mind boggled lmao
The best ways to combat deeper dehydration of oily skin are by:
a) Deeply hydrating the skin using the Korean 7 Skin Method.
If anyone has questions, please ask away 🙂
but why use product that aren't natural it's kinda pointless to me
Wow this is so informative. Do you know of any brands that offer the 7 step Korean method? Also, if my skin was oily and is now suddenly really painful to the touch (I'm currently using benzoyl peroxide) what can I do?
Check Edward Avila's channel, he has A LIST
the cosrx low pH cleanser IS A DREAM
Wishtrend is a good place to look for this stuff too
Alissa and Jackie are the real damn deal when it comes to clarity, integrity, and advocating for diversity even when it isn't 'trendy.' It's so amazing to see BOTH of these powerful women being recognised by brands as sources of invaluable insight. 15 shades who? We don't know her. We're running with a shade range more than twice that now 👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿
POC are finally winning in the makeup industry, and I’m here for it. 💅🏾🙋🏾♀️💯
Take your trolling somewhere else.
nobody should be winning. everyone should be equal
calafeast I guess? 😂 I work and what I do matters. I save lives of all races, dude. Never even brought BLM into this.
pinkdimples msp everyone should be winning. And having makeup brands realize that there’s 50 shades of brown along with beige is long overdue. Have a good day.
Nobody should be winning. Everybody should be equal, POC *and* lighter skin tones. Not being racist so please don't take this the wrong way.
“And white men were trying to take credit for it” oooohhhh the tea 😂 but let me stop before Voldemort and his Death Eaters come ☠️☠️☠️
lol love this!
Death Eaters... I'm hollering 🤣😂

Antoinette White 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let me say this again for the ppl in the back:
I think everyone is missing the point.
That intro took be waaaay back! Rockafella Records was the bomb back then. Props to Alissa for doing the dayum thang!!
Im inbetween brown & darkskin and i lovvvvveee this product
idk what yall are talkin abt i think thats a pretty good range for the lighter shades.. i dont feel left out at all. personally im 120 in fenty (which is one of the lightest shades if youre too lazy to look it up) and i'm pretty sure nyx covered me. i mean, how many shades of the same white color do yall want? just accept there are more colors than white and move on lol buh bye
This comment🤣🤣
My problem is I’ve got pale dry skin. And matte foundations always have the best range for some reason, why dewy skin is always to yellow and tanned for me. Even in the lightest shade.
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I have so many feelings. 1. Yay Alissa, congratulations!🥂 2. THIS SHADE RANGE. YESSSS! 😍 3. Jackie... flawless as always.💎 4. Yay Dennis! We're glad you are on the mend ❤
I just picked this foundation up today and I love it already! I'm veeeeeeeeery pale and I loved how many undertones there were! Often the very deep and very light tones only have one or two options. I finally wasn't the lightest shade!
Lucie so happy to see such a positive comment. Thank you:)
I'm really hoping the swatches online are not quite right, because they all look to dark for me, or not the right undertones.
@@Rowan_93 trust me they look a lot lighter irl. Even in the bottle vs on the skin, it's quite different
Apparently I'm on Instagram too much because I just tried to double tap to like this video.... am I the only one that does that? 🤦🏽♀️🤣
Lol you're not alone! If you think that's bad I did it few times on pics in my phone gallery 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I still didn’t have a shade in the Too Faced foundation so I’m so happy this range came out!!
Jenny Dey just out of curiosity (no hate) do you have any subscribers or is my phone messed?
Dang son, but I’m glad you can try this now!
umamah _xo She made her subscriber count not viewable
BrookeAndBria oohhhh ok 😂 thanks for that lol thought I was losing the plot
umamah _xo I have like 1k lmao
1)I’ve literally been thinking about Dennis everyday since I found out he wasn’t well. Glad he’s feeling better.
2) YES. On the Mac video
3) Your makeup is on piz-oint. As per usual.

Angie Baptiste &
Arrana Burden well thank you!!
Love that they balanced it out for everyone! ♡♡
yeah bc 8 times 5 is 45🙄smh
i'm half hispanic, half caucasian.
I’m always nervous when you swatch that your shirt will be stained. Seriously anxious 😂😂😂
can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful jackie is?!
keeenziee when she cut back after doing her full face I literally gasped. She’s a goddess
Oh Jackie, that is a beautiful foundation on you! I’m so glad darker skin tones are getting more options for foundation.
24 hour claim is just to make people think ‘damn this lasts forever’ but tbh it’s good for girls like me who work a graveyard shift Sunday night then goes straight to school after that then a quick break before going to work again.
i’m a medical school resident who works a 24 hour shift every week sooooo
@@Julia-cp9nt theres no time to look pretty
I have beef with anyone who says the shade range isn’t diverse in regards to lighter shades. If you go to Alyssa Ashleys channel and watch her video, she swatches all the shades on her arm and there’s like 10 shades that are white as snow..... There’s SO many shades, both light, dark and everything in between. I’m an NW10 (aka snow white) and I could wear at least 5 shades in this line.
I agree with not complaining about the light shade range but saying their white as snow on her arm??? like no shit she's not fair skinned so of course it's going to be white as snow swatched on her?? swatch those swatches on a real snow white girl and we can see how fair the shades actually go
AutumnClockWork but, like I said, I too am white as snow and several of them matched me.... therefor, yes, they are pale as shit....
My point is people aren't going to stop bitching until they can actually see how fair the shades are on an actual fair person, until the pale beauty youtubers come out with swatches the bitching and moaning will continue (and for those of us lighter than NW10, like myself, just get a white mixer it's not that hard)
Ok square up 🤣 ppl petty
She’s has the most beautiful skin I’ve ever seen omg
Hey Auntie!!! I just came here to say a HUGE THANK YOU for the shoutout on your instastory!!! You have no idea what it means to me!! You're the freaking best!! God bless and enlarge you in Jesus name!!! Love you Mama!!!
Disclaimer: before I bought it I understood that it was mat but I didn’t realize how mat it was.
If you have eczema this is not going to be the product for you: because the product went so Mat on my dry skin it cracked and peeled product; my skin got really hot and irritated. I hope they come out with a moisturizing version of the product
Have you since tried using a really rich moisturizer and primer under it? Or does that still not help?
Avy Ferg with my skin there is no moisturizer that last the whole day
I can't stand the people saying "what about light shades?". If you want to see lighter shades, go search another video. That simple. I'm a very fair skinned person, but I love watching Jackie's vids because she is always 100% honest and my main thing with foundations are the finish and consistancy, which she never fails to go into depth about.
YES. i dont even use makeuo yet here i am in the middle of the night watching jackie
@@emilyrene4664 ur fucked go away
Claire Firary I am fully aware. Hence why I said go watch another video if you want to see lighter shades.
Me too, agree with you. I like her videos more because of her knowledge and personality.
im like, shade 01 in the nyx total control foundation and seeing these "what about fair skin" comments im like??? buy LITERALLY ANY other foundation. literally any brand any line, other than this. go outside. shut the fuck up. buy another one.
Awww I'm so glad he's Ok!! You had us worried!!!! I had shingles about a year ago. It really isn't fun so I'm glad he's doing better! And also, I will be looking for that foundation!!!! So glad I'll be able to fine my shade and it's matte!!
JACKIE THAT DANCING IM YELLING SKSKSKSKSK😂
Aurianna J she had me laughing at the jump
😱 Yay! 🤗
you should do that with any foundation! that's why I show try to show both wet and dry swatches by rubbing them in
Honestly, I totally forgot because I've been a CoverFX girl for years, so I already know what my shades are during the summer and winter. 😁
Since today is the official launch in Ulta stores, I will go back this week and retry again with a less heavy✋hand. 😉
Nyx is drugstore adjacent. They pricey. And on the bougie side of the drug store.
😂😂😂
i actually kinda agree. I bought a palette that had 12 shades and it was like 18 bucks. like....okayy
well when you compare it to THAT of course that's cheap. i wasnt talking about this foundation product in particular. but alot of their eyeshadows/eyeshadow products are pretty up there for "drugstore"
NYX is the pretty rich girl of the drug store. She lives in the gated community and drives a Benz but C class
QuietWhenAQueenIsTalking thataylaa is quite good about that
Nikki tutorials 🤔
Anna Tucker only one I seen, and rarely. But I don’t know, I stopped watching her because the people she hangs with are problematic.
Raw Beauty Kristi and Stephanie Nicole are also big advocates for larger shade ranges.
Prismmakeupartistry I’ll have to check them out. Thanks.
