Great reaction! I love the song. Here a little piece from a interview with Kovacs about the song and working with Till. A child before gallows, in other words, or as Kovacs calls it in her song, "Child Of Sin. It is her most intimate, vulnerable song to date, as she has to peel off the protective layers she built around herself after being abused at a young age. 'A lot of times I thought I made it all up. I was also not understood at the time, and my abuser tried to manipulate me in many ways. My family does recognize things retroactively now, and it's a dark thought that many things that happened in my life should not have happened. I felt unsafe. It's no wonder Kovacs was actually hesitant to sing this song on her own. And when her manager asked if she wouldn't record it as a duet, only one name came to mind: Till Lindemann, lead singer of Rammstein. A band Kovacs felt a connection to from a young age - from the days when MTV played 'Sonne' nonstop. And a song like 2019's "Puppe," where the protagonist pulls the head off a doll in blind rage, touches Kovacs. Till Lindemann, a master at interpreting suffering and not afraid to dig deep within himself. Then again, he is the frontman of just about the biggest touring rock band in Europe. 'I thought: I know someone who has worked with him before, in Berlin. I have one chance.' And miraculously that attempt arrived. There was no record company or publisher involved. It was Lindemann himself who called: 'I heard we're going to record a duet.' Kovacs: 'He liked the song, and he invited me to his house. Till was very thoughtful and interested. He wanted to know the context, he wanted me to feel comfortable. We developed a special relationship. He calls me "my crazy friend." If I had been with a label this would never have worked out, it would have been busted. I did this all by myself. Lindemann sings the second verse of "Child Of Sin," in English. That was what he wanted most himself, Kovacs says. And the collaboration didn't end there, because the German also came to Amsterdam to shoot a music video. 'He was very sweet,' Kovacs says of that day. 'He said to me at one point: you're fluttering like a bat, take it easy! Yeah, I know, I replied. I just want the best for your baby. He really understands how important this is to me.'
Kovacs is a Dutch artist who studied at Rock City Institute, a vocational school in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Her idiosyncratic character, her beautiful dark voice and the often socially critical lyrics cannot be categorized. Kovacs turns out to be above all an artist in music. She kicks society but just as easily brings her fragility to your ears. Thanks to the duet with the German musician, actor and heavy-voiced Till Lindemann, best known as the frontman of Rammstein, you almost think that it is a piece from a classical opera that has been brought to our time. The threatening choirs reinforce that idea enormously.
I remember when I first heard this song. I thought "damn, she's got a good voice and is really good at conveying the emotion"....and then till started and the chills hit me 😅 Every time we think we've heard everything his voice can do, he goes and pulls something else out of the bag. I wish he sang more songs like this tbh, but I know he's uncomfortable (comparatively speaking) singing in English so I dno if it'll happen any time soon
I love, love this song. One of the only songs to ever make me think about my adoption and the nature of my birth. Abuse is personal and able to touch anyone who has also come into contact with it. I almost cried the first time hearing this too - great reaction! Their voices together were just...meant to happen. Otherwordly. Ethereal.
It was the first time i hear this song and i love it very, very much ! Thanks for give me the chance to hear it ! Love you all ! Greatings and love from germany ♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️🥰♥️♥️
First time I listen this song, thanks to you!! Is really beautiful, I feel this song is just an introduction to something more deep, I will look for the album. I need to make you a request I will figure out how to use "buy me a coffee" you did make my favorite song from Rammstein Feuer und Wasser and I rally enjoy it, and I just gotta say: YOU GUYS HAVE THE BEST RAMMSTEIN VIDEO REACTIONS. Thank you for make my day each time with a new one. Love to see my favorite song through your eyes, or ears or whatever. Haha. ❤️
Again hitting me with your Till's reaction and the song... 💔 It feels like every Till's colaboration with female singers is out of this world. I think that I cannot love Rammstein members more, but sometimes even I get surprised and my love grows even bigger. Btw, I would really like to see your reaction and honest opinion of Rammstein's song "Stirb nicht vor mir (Don't die before I do)" which is also a colaboration, with Sharleen Spiteri (the singer of band Texas), but it is also one of most hated Rammstein songs, I guess because it doesn't really sound like Rammstein. But I'd really like to hear your opinion. And just don't go for "live" version, because there is no live version and the one that is claimed to be is actually the studio version with separated clips of Rammstein and Sharleen. So that video really doesn't make any sense to me and if you decide to react to it, do any lyric video. Sending lots of love to all three of you! 🖤🖤🖤
Amy Winehouse you say? Have you listened to Angelina Jordan before? She is a true child prodigy singer, arranger and composer with a voice that is unreal. While she is more based in Jazz (won Norway's agot Talent at 7 years old singing Billie Holiday songs), but has some top notch covers of music that often surpasses the original artist. She has covered Amy Winehouse Back to Black, plus Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley, Beatles, Michael Jackson and has written her own music as well. She will be 18 in January and will probably pop off then. Her family has protected her and given her a loving safe space so the music industry won't destroy her before she is mature enough to manage that level of complexity and stress.
Epic song and fantastic reaction as well. For me the best duet of Till is "Stirb nicht vor mir (don`t die before i do) i highly recommend this ua-cam.com/video/trLWqilxiM0/v-deo.html

Edit: I also immediately thought of Amy winehouse 😊
