When I started my Adapalene journey, I experience purging so much that I losing hope with the condition of my skin. But I trusted my doctor and only after 3 months, my derm and I saw how healthy my skin is. May mga pailan-ilan na pimples pero there are days/weeks na clear skin moments talaga.
Don't be afraid, trust your derms, and trust the process! I love this video doc! I've been encouraging ny friends to seek the guidance of dermatologists. I would send this to them if they will experience purging too!

Can I use Adapalene/niacinamide/arbutin while taking prescription Roaccutane?
Hello Doc! It is purging if my face get redness when I add new product on my skincare routine? Previously when I only used Salasylic acid cleanser and niacinamide serum I noticed my nose area pealed and some minimal redness on my cheek area.
I add new moisturizer on my skincare and my skin now have redness on cheek area and feel so itchy should I stop the moisturizer I'm using or should I continue usinh it?

Hi Doc! Isn't itchiness part of dryness at times? I have been using retinol and my skin (on the side cheeks) has gotten dry and itchy after a month of using it. I have continued but lessened the amount and frequency of use, incorporated moisturizer, because, despite its side effects, I really see its benefits, and true enough, the side effects have started to diminish.

I had a purge back when I was a teen with tretinoin then as an adult using 0.05% tretinoin no more purging na. Same also when I am able to use 0.1% tretinoin no more purging na.

may tanong lang sana. what do you think of The Ordinary Granactive retinoid 2% emulsion? I've been using it for 2 months now and I've had the worst acne ive had in my entire life. although the purging is still going on, pero its far less than it was 2 weeks ago.
should i continue? may cetearyl alcohol ingredient kase sya. maybe that ingredient is making it worse.
(btw. purging is only on areas on my face where i would usually break out, the pimples come and go at about 6 days.)
If it's purging it should've resolved by now. How is your skin?

Hello. Doc. I’ve been using rejuvenating sets that work for me. However, Last March-may I had my CO2 LASER. I stopped using my rejuv (March-May) after a week of Laser, I immediately used my rejuv set again and I had comedones. It’s been 5 months now. Though my comedones lessen when I only use the toner at night. Should I stop using my rejuv set? 😢😢
I suggest you go back to the doctor who did the resurfacing treatment on you and have him/her recommend a treatment for your skin :) I cannot comment kc hindi naman kita nakita and d ko maassess ung skin mo.

Adapalene is usually given via prescription so I suggest you follow what your doctor says, but in general just like with other retinoids, start with less frequent applications and if yo have sensitive skin, with moisturizers before and/or after.

thankyou for your videos po dra! new subscriber here ❤️ may i ask po if it's okay if i use AHA and sunscreen at night then use mixed vitamin c, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid serum(pinaghalo kopo yung tatlong serums) and sunscreen at daytime? alam ko po kasi bawal pagsabayin gamitin ung vit.c and AHA. sana po masagot nyo 😊 may purging po kasi ako now i think because of the AHA.
and second question po. bakit po kaya ang sensitive na ng face ko onting hawak magkaka bumps na malaki. hindi naman po sya sensitive dati. i've used 2 rejuv sets and used RDL 3 for 3 or 4 times already last year. dahil po ba dun kaya naging sensitive skin ko :(

Eith regards to skin sensitivity pwedeng dahil sa skincare products na ginamit mo or ginagamit. D ako familiar sa rdl but if it contains many irritating ingredients altogether rest mo muna ung skin mo so it can recover.

Hello Doc, When i used Niacinamide 10% concentration, nagka small bumps ako sa forehead then lumabas yung mga whitehead na nagdudulot ng pimple/acne😌 4days pa lang na pag gamit pero grabe agad kasi nagsilabasan yung pimple/acne dun sa area na nagkaroon ako ng pimple before, lalo na sa T-zone sa oily part ng mukha ko..
Oh no, sorry hear this, discontinue using it and consult a dermatologist para ma-address ung lesions mo.

I consulted free derma online and prescribed me klenzit adapalene with clindamycin gel and mild sulfer soap to clear my acne. I’ve been using it for 5 weeks and continues pa rin yung pagkakaroon ko ng pimples although nadadry naman agad pero nag-iiwan siya ng red marks and I’m not sure kung kailangan ko na po bang itigil or not. What should i do po doc? Thank you and have a great day ahead!
You should have a follow up with your derma :) usually 6-8 weeks pinapa follow up talaga so that you know the next steps.
hi po! Need advise/recommendation, currently I am using TO 2% granactive retinoid my emulsion my bottle is half full, should I switch or get another bottle? I am thinking of switching to inkey list retinol. Hope you can advise. 😊 Stay safe please.

@@irenegaile i was thinking lang that since its granactive retinoid that there isn't enough data on it. I mix it with my moisturiser illiyoon ato ceramide cream before applying. Hello Doc I am planning to incorporate tretinoin in my skin care routine is it okay to use Retacnyl Acne Cream 0.050% though I haven't consult to a derma yet. Thank you.
Why do you want to add tretinoin into your routine? for anti-aging? if yes, ok lng naman but you need a prescription to be able to buy tretinooin 0,05% cream :)

hello doc! new fan here! i was just recently into skin care. i use celeteque hydration moisturizer for a week na and nagssting po talaga sya sa bandang gilid ng nose ko, the rest is okay po. im planning to take a break sana kasi i believe di dapat nag ssting ang mga moisturizers lalo na water base gel sya. since i dont have an alternate moisturizer, can i use jojoba oil instead para i lock yung serums ko? thank you and i hope ma notice po :) combination of oily and dry skin po ako.

The most affordable would be syndet bars like dove sensitive. It depends on your definition of “cheap” :)

Doc, what kind of ingredients to use po that is best with Epiduo Anti-Acne gel kasi po mostly red marks nalang meron po ako pero nagkakaacne parin that's y im using epiduo po. Epiduo lang po gamit ko for night and suncreen lng po sa umaga. Thankyou po.
Ingredients like niacinamide, azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, exfoliants, even retinoids may improve redness. Vascular lasers are also effective. Please check out my video pn post-acne erythema :)

It's not something that I prescribe to my patients.
Any ingredient that increases skin turnover (eg. retinoids, exfoliants) may cause purging.
Got breakout all over my jaw and chin after one week of using TO azelaic acid 😭😭 and now suffering for almonst two months now bcz of all the marks left and still nagkaka pimples parin ako kahit i already stopped using it na 🤔😪

Hello doc, gumamit ako ng celeteque hydration set and then andaming lumabas na parang mini pimples sa muka ko pati na rin acnes talaga kaya himinto ko din sya right after maubos si facial wash. Purging po ba yun? I mean may actives din po ba ang celeteque? Thank you po..
Im not sure anong meron sa set na yan but hydrating sets are normally for dry akin and should not contain ingredients that cause purging. Best for you to consult a derm, in my opinion :)

Hi po doc.So im using Cerave foaming cleanser po,Niacinamide serum 10% for more than a month.Okay naman po siya sa skin ko but bigla nalang po akong nag breakout sa forehead ko ng walang dahilan.Ano po kaya pwede gawin?
you can try:
1. to wait it out for a few days and observe
2. to use products that address mild acne (may video ako on this) but if persistent,
3. consult a derm na
Hi doc! What can you say about this products? I've been using this for 3 days now. Wla naman nako pimples before ako gumamit but there are a lot of pimple marks and napansin ko tinubuan ako ng tatlong pimples pero maliliit lng naman at kayang kaya matanggal kagad. Here's the products

Hi doc. Magtatanong lang po ako kasi, I used the advance rejuvenating set ng hello glow dahil nagwoworse na yung mga pimples and black heads ko and it was my first time encountering it. Okay naman po sya no harsh feeling sa skin but then after a week of using it mas lalo po nagworse yung pimples ko para syang nagiging acne na then marami akong nararamdaman na bumps na parang magiging tagihawat na, naging good side nya lang nawala yung blackheads ko. Akala ko kasi purging stage parin kaso po nababahala na po ako kasi walang nagbago after 2 months ko syang gamitin and still continue using it. Ano po kaya marerecommend nyong gawin ko. Sana po matulungan nyo ko. By the way po my skin type is oily skin po.
I dont recommend rejuv sets in the treatment of moderate to severe acne. You will need to undergo proper consultation and assessment and will most likely need prescription medication :)
Update po Yan din po gamit ko di ko alam gagawin ko kung itutuloy ko ba 😭
Hello po Doc. I’m currently using the Ordinary Glycolic acid 7% toning solution po. Unang gabi po na ginamit ko first week palang po isa isa na naglalabasan acne ko until now 5weeks napo na naglalabasan mga pimples ko nagwoworry napo kase ako baka po kase breakouts na talaga yung acne ko before mas pinalala niya ngayon pero yung gamit ko naman po 2-3times a week po e sana po ma pansin doc
could be purging, if it continues after 4 weeks, consult ka na :)

Cab kojic cause purging?
Kojic acid per se, i dont think so because it’s not a keratolytic or an exfoliant. But some kojic acid products contain other ingredients that can cause purging.
Hi doc. Currently i’m using tretinoin then nagkaroon ako ng dark marks after kong magpurge. Mawawala po ba ito while using tretinoin or doni need to have a separate treatment to this. Thank you po.
Dark marks fade with time even if you dont do anything about them pero minsan matagal.

Ive been using brilliant rejuv set for 3 weeks now and from week 1 to 3 dumami ang pimples, bumps, etc.

Not sure what it contains but what you're experiencing can be purging and it usually lasts 2-4 weeks, if lumampas I suggest a consultation na. It could mean you have moderate acne which is best managed with medications.

You can either continue until your lesions resolve (if it doesnt resolve in 4 weeks, pa consult ka na) or stop and see if your skin improves.

purging usually happens when you use a product that increases skin turnover for the first time. It usually lasts for 2-4 (sometimes 6) weeks. If not, acne na yan :)

Hi rosemarie! fungal acne is a monomer, wala talagang ganyan na condition. There is, however, what we call pityrosporum folliculitis, which is called by a fungus we all have on our skin and it's not contagious and it's not caused by using products that increase skin turnover rate :)

Additional po dikit dikit po sila na may maliliit at a average size po dun po sila nag labasa. Sa cheek jaw at sa gilid po ng eyes o sa malapit po aa sintido kalimutan po dun kasi ako tinutubuan purging po ba ito or breakout doc plsss sana po mabasa

I’m currently using a Lactic acid now. Pinaka ayaw ko lang po sa purging ay ung sama-sama sila sa isang area 😂😂😂. Para po silang may meeting hahaha
Yes ganyan nga! But it goes away naman. if super severe u can have them treated with intralesional steroid injection from your dermatologist. I hope um-ok na cya! :)
