Yo! So today I've been scrolling through the comments under my Dune Chant cover and found a bunch of people questioning if I actually can sing that low, or it's post production SFX. So for y'all, here is my take on the Sardaukar Chant but with no audio editing and a raw recording from my phone 🙂 I might actually tackle a bunch of different topics from these comments (like the ever-so-annoying 'hamburger cheesburger' memes) in future videos. funnily if this forest is somewhere in my area there are hardly any bears here, mostly deer, elk, boars and wolves. foxes etc but foxes are only scary with rabies lol. well, I am most likely wrong anyway and if this is somewhere nearer the mountains then yes, watch out for bears. 😊 and you wouldnt ever wanna get between an elk and a hard place. bears or elk ? I d rather face a bear tbh.

It shows how starved we are for authentic talent when people just assume that something must have been faked or assisted using technology.
It was definitely assisted with technology. The sound designer mentioned using extreme compression techniques among other things. But the basic voice is absolutely achievable naturally

Insane, I can barely tell a difference from the edited one except maybe an echoing effect missing.
Yeah the edit was mostly all about reverb and some light delay :) In real life it sounds best tho, especially when a bunch of people do it at the same time! :D

That and I think they accentuated the bass
@@dchiznit209 lol! It's the microphone, reverb, and delay. The bass is already there, but because of the way the brain interprets sounds you just aren't noticing it.

I think there are some kind of voice effects in the movie because you can hear the vowels move in ways that are impossible, but other than that im pretty sure you nailed it and got as close as it gets
I've never heard that chant before, so I clicked, assuming it's just a false fold rumble that shocks people so much. Then you did warm ups, and I just laughed too myself, remembering that normal people have no clue how metal vocals are made and everything is an effect for them :D

I can sort of do this, but only at certain times of the day. If I've been talking a lot and my voice is tired I can't do it.

People who can't do Kargyraa are always amazed at how low you can go, it's very easy to learn.
So that noise you make when you clear your throat; "Hmmm hmmm" when you do that you are engaging your false vocal chords, the way to learn it is to try to do it for a longer time over and over, it's so easy, all you are doing is engaging your false vocal chords.

Internet be wildin out if they think this man is faking it. No lie about 30 min ago I looked up a tutorial on how to throat sing tried it and I am lower than Ren. Now I just stated and can't hold it very long or anything but to say someone is faking the sound tells me they haven't tired it because let me tell you mine is much lower than I normally talk or even sing. Great Demo Ren and I look forward to watching your tutorial on throat singing as well!

U can do some vocals for music rave/techno/house/dub-step especially drop a few lines to Skrillex looks like Soney likes to experiment and now is at a major pause ^) AND maybe this can wake him up eventually ^). You have great skills. I think I 'll try to learn them too :) any piece of advise for a better approach?

What's the trick for actually adding words and mouth movement? I can get the low pitch, but anything else creates back pressure that disrupts my voice. Air flow not fast enough?
That comes with practice :) First practice on just vowels (a, e, o, u, i) and then try to add some random syllables. It can be hard at first so make sure to have a stable airflow (good diaphragm support) ;) Just keep practicing! Cheers

I was only familiar with the Mongolian throat singing this is very interesting. Sardaukar chant was epic!
I am amazed that so few people understand that throatsinging is real, particularly the subharmonic styles. The American blues musician Paul Peña did a film Genghis Blues showing his trip to Tuva to learn khoomei from Kongar-ol Ondar, but Peña’s voice was so deep he did it wrong and ended up singing subharmonic kargyraa. The locals named him Earthquake because when he sang, it felt like an earthquake.
The film is available to watch on UA-cam. I recommend it.

@@RenVasTerul Be ready for some emotional yo-yoing. Peña was blind but was accepted as just another musician by the Tuan’s. Shortly after he returned to America he died when a mugger stabbed him for a few dollars.
He never got nearly the recognition here that he did there, but something is better than nothing.
