These are really great sounding for mid range priced guitars, I have both and they are without doubt the best sounding guitars I've owned in this price bracket and I have owned 20 different acoustic brands including Yamaha, Guild, Sigma, Faith & Aria, in the last 30 years.

3 days ago I bought the Excellente!!!! Just one word.....WOW!!!!!!!! And I made my first studio recording.....UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Plain signal, no EQ or effects needed....Just great!!!! Thanks for your video!!!!!!❤🧡💛💚💙
There's something magical about that frontier. When that guitar opens up in a few years it will be killer. The excellente technically has more overtones and resonance to it but it lacks the life and spirit of the frontier. Its close but the frontier will be my next guitar. Never thought id dig maple that much.
I can't understand the language, that being said our ears can tell the difference between the guitars. Great comparison in the demo. They both sound great but I'm leaning more towards the Excellente, sounds more articulate to me. Either one you can't go wrong with, maybe I get one at a time lol. I like the inspired by Gibson ones also but this is Epiphone by itself. Sure I would love a Gibson but I don't love its price range. The craftmanship in both Epiphones looks really good for the price. I noticed all guitar brands went up a little during this covid, supply and demand all over. Thanks for the video.
Ovangkol aka Bubinga aka African Rosewood has an excellent sound. I have a 1974 Japanese Morris W-18 Martin D28 knock off with Spruce Top/Ovankol back and sides, sounds amazing.
I thought this was an outstanding comparison of two very nice masterbilt Epiphone guitars. I thought they both sounded very good. I have to give the nod to the Excellente. To my ear it was ringing like a bell. The sounds were ringing so clear. Maybe it was the musician but wow. TY MH Epiphone is doing some exciting things in the acoustic guitar arena. The value of these guitars is exceptional.
Although admittedly it’s really hard to discern which one is “better”... both sound awesome. Can’t understand Korean... But These videos are great! Thanks guys!

I actually hear the opposite. Just got the J-200; getting the Excellente now. Can’t believe how good it sounds. To me the Frontier sounds a bit too mid rangey comparably. But both sound great. Epi is killing it right now.
Sound wise Excellente has more resonance to me, but I don't get why such an ugly big white inlay on the headstock... Another thing with these two is why is the design all on the pickguard? The newer designs show that for the sound is preferable to have no pickguard at all. I would put that image directly on the body of the guitar
Nothing like playing ebony fretboard on a perfect neck. The Frontier sounds good, however the Excellente is just in another league😏 Holds up with a D-41 or the D-55 Guild.
great video. Ive owned the Frontier about 2 weeks and it came perfectly set up.the gibson strings were a bit old but still lasted 2 weeks of hard play. I found that you really need a hard pick for this guitar. Its a sweet sounding guitar and an opposite to a martin sound. more Guild sounding than Martin. These are fairly big, full-sized guitars so be sure you want a full sized guitar.I have been mostly an electric player for many years. I got away from acoustics for about 6 years playing only electric but my past is littered with great acoustics like guild D40,Gibson Hummingbird,Taylor and blueridge br180.I put Ernie Ball earthwood PB strings on it yesterday and I'm not sure they are going to suite it, thinking about going back to the Gibson strings or maybe some martin strings, I like a lot of volume and I believe the strings that came on it gives more volume than the EB Earthwoods.
I believe they come from the factory with medium Gibson strings (13 gauge). No idea if those are coated/phosphor. Unlikely this guys changed the strings out just for a demo.

I bought the Frontier, have had it about 6 weeks. It is very nice and sounds fantastic! Nice sparkle and crisp because of the maple.

Agreed. Ovangkol is harder, closer to Rosewood, more projection and overtones. Maple is great for clean fingerstyle and note separation.
