Nostalgia! I used to play this for hours. I still have this. It had a good story. Good physics. Good character development. Yeah sure the swinging was a problem that his webs swings nowhere but it was a very good game.

Both Amazing Games have their ups and downs. Amazing 1 has a stronger presentation, more interesting combat, and a stronger cinematic focus. Amazing 2 on the other hand has a much better Free Roam, Stealth,more open levels, and a more refined Web Rush.
I will say this to the end of time. If the pros of both games were put into one game, we would've had a REALLY good Spider-Man game.

i didnt really understand when people said the NYC of spiderman ps4 felt alive. now im looking at this gameplay and i can definitely say this open world is pretty dead even if there are NPCs and cars moving around
The city in the PS4 game does feel alive though. The overabundance of NPCs and vehicles really captures how congested and overpopulated NYC is IRL.

As long as you keep your heroic level at 3 you can swing for a good long time before it gets to 1 or even have to do another crimes plus the crimes are fun and challenging imo (lol spidey running through the burning buildings not giving a fuck and pulling bitches out of cars) but both games are equally fun and good to play. I mean hell there's a whole bunch of other freaking Spidey games to play.

I absolutely hate the way the camera dramatically twists clockwise or anti-clockwise during the web swinging. They must've thought it was innovative but nah.
Insomniac absolutely nailed every aspect with the web swinging in their game.

In the spiderman 2 game, your webs actually attached to buildings while swinging, there are randomly generated events and besides that, the free roaming area was massive! You could go to the Statue of Liberty whereas in this game, you can go to the highest point of the oscorp tower and only see the statue to the west side.
This is one of the best Spider-Man games definitely top 3

V3N0M4N i disagree. The animations on spiderman 2 were quirky and felt unrealistic, and sure there are some glitches here and there but every game has that.

I’m pretty sure if you incorporate the same story with better graphics, character movements , etc, it would still be a banger of a game

I actually liked this better than the second one because at least you can free roam peacefully around the city. In the second one you have to do boring side missions to keep your heroic act up, or else the task force will attack you.
The whole menace and hero thing makes no fucking sense... In the movie, Spider-Man wasn't attacked by those guys at all... It would've made more sense in TASM 1 Since the police didn't really like him, but that would've made it worse

10th Anniversary of this game + I remember good old days when I turned on my Xbox 360, collected all comic books in the game and played all side missions, instead feeling problems of PC version. And today I finally play in another great game about Spider-Man (port of PS5 version) after TASM 1 and 10 years of waiting really interesting game on PC (excluding TASM 2).
Web of Shadows was the best free roam. Not only was it fun, the map was humongous, there was always something to do, you could interact with other heroes, call allies, and kill people by throwing cars at them.

Game was good in my book. Best Spider-Man game I played though was the Spiderman 1 for PS1, Tobey Maguire Spiderman 1+2, and Spiderman edge of time with 2099 Spidey. Spiderman PS4 is great graphics and game mechanics but the story and characters they brought in was not the best for me. Did cry when aunt may passed and loved Peter and Otto's friendship😓

The web swinging here is garbage. It's all canned animations and sequences. The player hardly has any control.
I love how Marvel's Spider-Man looks and works when it comes to swinging, but it's just missing something.
And that something is this camera's angle and cinematic shots and animations.
This game, although you stick to the clouds and have very little control over swinging itself, makes you feel like Gravity does exist, even in the game world, not as a part of a program, but an unstoppable force that will kill Spider-Man If you do not swing. The camera angle is perfect. The zoom-ins and zoom-outs are perfect. The motion blur, as you near the ground and then hit the swing button and the entire camera rotates. So cinematic and graceful. You can feel the gravity, you can almost feel that speed and G-force and pull. If only his webs stuck to the buildings and you had control over it(like moving in the direction in which you want to swing while swinging), it would've been a perfect swinging system. Or, add this game's camera to the Marvel's Spider-Man. I can't wait for it to hit PC in August, I can only wonder what the modders will do.

Also... the web swinging in this, while fun and cool looking, is too crazy. You swing in one or two swings, from the ground to the tops of big buildings... you also go so fast through the city it makes it feel smaller than it is. Still, the game is fun.

Ultimate Spiderman: had (IMO) the best "spider man" & character/city models
Web Of Shadows: best combat system & storyline
TASP2: best web swinging
It seems like they focus on a completely different aspect for each new installment of a spidey game & ignore the rest. Add these bitches up & give us a great spiderman game.

It's a shame that this free roam was eliminated for the Nintendo Wii version, I wished we could do this in this version too!
Who cares if the webbing is attached to the clouds? It was really fun to play. Plus the game has some other big issues, like the city feeling almost ompletely empty after you finish the main story (which is actually pretty over the top but creative). I just love this game, man. Not the best out of all the Spidey games but definitely special for me.
Ps: TASM 2 did suck.
