Hey Steve thanks for the spot on report. Out Wednesday for 7 hours and the big Skunk! Today, Friday, 7 in the boat and several others on the line. Nothing over 2lbs but best day this year so far. Out just after sunrise ran to Frank’s and bite window from about 1100 to 1230 and then closed pretty hard. Thanks for all your hard work and solid info!
Make sure you send a report-gut gat a report from today-Two guys hooked 6 fish - landed two-8 and 9 lbs so let's hope thats a good sign. No info on what they were using. Good luck.
@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 went out to the delta as planned caught two 5 lbs and lost a big one at least 40 inches straightened out my hooks ... also caught a surprise fish which is my pb for bass ... a 5lber in semi clear water but they are in running water...but it was all about colors today. Very picky on color and presentation. They were only taking under spin with a black and green swim bait.....
Steve, We fished around the B&W resort area yesterday... the wind made it tough to keep the boat in the target area. We managed 3 fish. Biggest was 3.21 on a 6 inch wacky Senko (black/blue flake). The other 2 were on a 5 inch wacky Senko (watermelon/red flake). Lost 2 others. Luckily the rain missed us. No luck on a chatter bait or square bill.
Great catch on that senko bass! That photo of Dave with that 6lb Large, is my boater I normally get a back seat once a month from May on thru December. He has more experience than me, but I have fished with him for 3 years straight. I have improved with everything he has taught me, and both of us are looking to improve on how to find the fish. Funny thing is, when I am on the fish, I catch them 90% of the time. I feel time on the water is the best experience. If I was out on a boat this week I too would be throwing a weightless wacky in motor oil color and neko it, if I am in a lot of current. Or a dark purple senko. Looks like you are using a 5" senko? some anglers last week were actually throwing a 6" wacky senko in and around weeded points in about 6 feet, which is pulled away from tulles. I assume they are fishing tulle islands or flats... First two hours-outgoing tide would be good I think in that situation; right?
Thanks for all ur help Steve. Going out of Pittsburgh tomorrow targeting Sturgeon using Lamprey Eel. My nephew caught 2 20+ lbers last week out of Mcavoys marina.
great report, I had a couple good days and caught a few each day football jig slow crawled and hopped fast, red squarebill and a Ned rig were the best producers, couldn't get a chatter bite or anything on the big swimbaits. Crankbait bite was really picking up and they were hitting a red craw pattern hard!
Thanks for the report-I forgot to mention in the report that I have been soaking the worm for longer to find more bites. Starting to get more crank bait talk-let's see what happens next week.
@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 I had to soak the Ned and a couple jig bites for a bit but also had a couple solid reaction bites snapping the jig and a couple violent strikes on the crankbait! It is picking up, also noticing the bass are starting to spread out.
First I want to say thank you for your channel. I have been fishing the delta for a few years now and it is good to hear what others are experiencing. Your information has already helped me to improve - Thank you! You have confused me with your advice on chatterbait trailers in this video. In a previous video (Chatterbait strategies for catching bigger bass) you say to “forget about throwing paddle or craw style baits, baits that have drag on their tail . . .”. Well, doesn’t the recommendation for the replacement of the Mann’s Reel’N bait sort of look like a craw style bait, or a bait that would have “drag on its tail”? Why wouldn’t you recommend something that is closer to the Reel’N like the “HogFarmer Baits Spunk Shad Swimbait” or the “Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Blade Minnow”? (And, there are others that I think would be closer to the Reel’N.) Again, thank you for providing this information. Now I have something to look forward to on Thursdays!
Thanks for the support Tony. I get what your saying about Big Bite Baits trailer. In the picture it looks like a craw but in hand it is more of a long and thin cross ower bait-very little drag and has a nice follow -once you see them in action I think you will like them . Your comment is really coincidental-I always say the Delta is a river of contradictions- so many things catch fish and so many strategies-sometimes the baits and strategies cross over and make no sense. Sometimes the cross overs can turn into your biggest fish catchers. P S Lots of options for trailers-let me know if you find a good one and don't be afraid to modify - some baits just need a little mod. to be really great. One more thing about the Big Bite trailer-they are cheep and need no mod. Don't rig them flat like a regular craw on a jig - rig them side ways. Good luck
@@indeeponthedeltawithstevec5997 I'm not a hero today but I'm not a zero either. Picked up a couple stripers trolling a crankbait. Biggest one was 16 inches.
Steve, my buddy and I went out Sunday on the yaks and I caught 2 on the Yamamoto shad worm and 1 on the berkley bad shad. My buddy caught 3 on the shad worm and 2 on the chatterbait.
