      Ummm they dont sound alike but ill say they sort of stumble along when putting together some sentences. Hikaru stumbles less tho and seems more confident in his speech.

      Are you trying to insinuate that Hans time travelled and had nasty-in-the-pasty with his mum to bear Kramnik (ie. It's not brain damage but Kramnik is just Hams' SON-- a la the plot in Back to the Future)?
      I don't think time travel is possible. Then again, these two are so oddly similar, seems plausible 🤷

      Chess is already a slow and boring game. You need the commentators to be not only knowledgeable but also upbeat and energetic. But for official classical tournaments they have old GMs and sometimes they can lull you to sleep with their soft voices and monotones. The commentators from Spain brought the energy and made the matches more fun to watch. I hope we start getting that kind of energy in broadcast chess tournaments.

    What’s next? Kramnik claims the OTB chess clocks were low on battery and de synced his time gains? Or that the weight of his pieces was .01 grams heavier than Jose’s so he took more time moving them? He’s an absolute baby.

  • @SwiFTDBL
    @SwiFTDBL Місяць тому +50

    How hard is it for Kramnik to understand that Jose most likely just performs better at low time format??? Meaning in classical over the board Jose’s opponents have the time to calculate the lines and beat him, but online with low time format Jose thrives at being able to calculate lines fast where the opponent doesn’t have time to out calculate Jose.. some people are better at low time format than others, this is nothing new, just because Jose performs better online doesn’t mean he’s all of a sudden cheating lol

    • @archimedesnation
      @archimedesnation Місяць тому +3

      It's not just the time format. Online protects you from the mind games you may encounter OTB. Also, if your mouse skills are better, you have the advantage. Kramnik was a giant OTB and crushed Garry in his own mind games but his mouse skills are attrocious, his time control sucks and he's just an average GM in low time formats. I 'm really surprised Jose didn't win by six or something. Jose is an amazing online player and, evidently, a great guy.

    • @LizZard1988
      @LizZard1988 Місяць тому +5

    • @TheMixxon2
      @TheMixxon2 Місяць тому +1

      Kramnik is such a trash... He forgot THE POINT OF THIS MEETING.... if Jose played AT A MERE 2000 level in this event, it would definitely ALREADY mean that he is not cheating, maybe he is just nervous so he's playing worse, HE OUTPLAYED HIM, so of course he is not cheating, he has the capabilities to play so well. I mean if Jose all of a sudden only played like 800, yeah maybe his 3000 online performance would be considered cheating, but since he played not only at a 2000 level, but also at a 3000 level, Kramnik should have apologised for accusing him of cheating, yet he never did and just continued to complain. I will make an official petition to Assassinate vladimir kramnik. Like the comment - how many of you will sign the petition ?

    • @kydelvetus642
      @kydelvetus642 Місяць тому

      Kramnik knew that the less time there is allocated for the game, the better Jose plays compared to him. That's why Kramnik asked to change the time format from 3 plus 1 to 3 plus 2 for the Clash of Claims. The Titled Tuesdays games were 3 plus 1. The 3 plus 2 format doesn't replicate the conditions of Titled Tuesdays and gives Kramnik better chances of winning compared to 3 plus 1

  • @aradan3913
    @aradan3913 Місяць тому +15

    In Spain, many high end chess competitions are done in casinos because they are luxurious places you can rent with enough money, just like hotels. Opens and more modest games are probably done in hotels and public spaces with more room and cheaper expenses.
    There's no real reason why they do it in a casino instead of a hotel, maybe they like the advertising, got conections, got a more prepared floor or rooms for matches since they also run poker, etc.

    • @theauthenticwaffle651
      @theauthenticwaffle651 Місяць тому +2

      I suppose the point was (for Kramnik) if Jose lost significantly enough overall then he could say Jose is cheating. As for Jose he gets to prove on a big stage that he’s legit and also get some money.

    • @attilakiss8585
      @attilakiss8585 Місяць тому

      @@theauthenticwaffle651 So Kramnik's point was refuted boldly.
      I think a chess player on Kramnik's level can prepare against someone efficiently. Even with preparation he could not show a decisive advantage.
      One more against his point: their standings was completely different on day 1 and day 2, which also shows that a player can win several matches at one event, and loose several at another one against the same player.

    • @ThatGuy-nv7cx
      @ThatGuy-nv7cx Місяць тому +3

      @@АнтонУваров-щ2ьhe was supposed to lose. Kramnik is undisputedly the better player. The format didn’t benefit Jose at all being a pure speed player. Take Danya for example, who is a top 5 3+0 blitz player, but when that’s changed to 3+1 he falls way behind the pack. Given these favorable time controls that only benefit the older and less tech savvy player, kramnik should be embarrassed that he barely edged out a win when all his controls were followed to ensure there was 0% chance of cheating. Not to mention that Jose was still grieving his mother and probably not in the right headspace for this event.

    • @akshaysundru482
      @akshaysundru482 Місяць тому

      @@АнтонУваров-щ2ь Strange indeed. Results were also strange in that Kramnik won online but lost OTB. In any case neither Clash truly demonstrated anything Kramnik wanted, he wanted to show that there shouldn't be a difference online vs OTB but then sets up +2 increments which massively deducts from an online advantage and then at the end of the day there's still a discrepancy between online and OTB

    • @АнтонУваров-щ2ь
      @АнтонУваров-щ2ь Місяць тому

      @@akshaysundru482 in this 2 events i dont think there is any discrepancy between online and OTB, 1st event Jose was a bit better online, 2nd a bit worse and vice versa, maybe like 1-2 games difference overall is my guess, which is nothing. Also it's not like Kramnik pushed for +2sec increment and everyone was against it, no, they all just agreed to it cuz it clearly doesn't make much difference to them both and +1sec OTB is kind of messy, also it kind of compensates Kramnik poor mouse skills compared to other online players, which Jose still farms online. Seems very reasonable to me~

I get Kramnik had some valid issues with the tech but Jose clearly proved he could compete with him regardless.

    The one thing that I don't like about chess is the big Egos. Kramnik is just one more example of this, but you can add Kasparov, Fischer, Carlsen, Nakamura, lots of BIG a** egos

    I play 100 better on pc vs board looking down and at 3d peace, it is hard for me to remember past positions in my sub-conscious whereas playing built or blitz only it's like I know the right vs the wrong move and I feel less blind to the possible moves on the board

    As someone who has somewhat of a background in stats this "clash of claims" should be viewed as incapable of answering the question. First of all sample size is incredibly small, second of all both players are specifically preparing for the other which I doubt they have done in their previous online matches. Not to mention every other potential excuse mentioned in the video making it not a 1 to 1 comparison. (Not that any of this would stop Vladmir "doesn't understand statistics" Kramnik).
