I go thrifting alone Bc two of the family members I lost were my thrifting buddies. So it’s bittersweet thrifting now. I’m in Florida so if you are ever near let’s thrift together! Cousin and Uncle from Covid in the fall, another older uncle, mother in law (lack of medical control vs. family), my bff in May and my cousin this week. I feel like I am in a nightmare. Love thrifting in Florida. Most knowledgeable about Boca/Deerfield/West Palm Beach, it has been years since I have been to Boca. Really lovely area.

Cairns: traditionally stacked rocks marked property and territory boundaries, graves and trail routes, so others could follow a scout sent on ahead. Now many folks do it for fun or to show off skills. Had a buddy (since passed away) who played stacking big rocks with his tractor on his property.

Not 100% sure but the green glass cups, saucers, bowls, etc look like Wheaton glassware to me. We had it ALL when I was growing up since we lived near Millville, NJ. Ours was blue but they did have other colors.

In Seattle where I live, I’ve found that the Goodwill and Value Villages prices are higher than Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, JC Penny, etc. I was at Goodwill yesterday and all the jackets and tops I was looking at were $20 and higher. My version of second hand shopping now is the TJ Maxx , Marshall’s and Ross.
In Naperville Illinois,I was at a thrift shop and they had the same blue jean dress I was wearing and they wanted $30.00,that was more than what I paid for it new.

I don't know about you but everyone loves a bargain and everyone likes to get a piece of the proverbial pie. Prices in thrift stores of all kinds are getting out of "control" because of the high prices purchasers are getting when they "buy and flip for a profit". Don't get me wrong I have nothing against people making a profit for their work but all thrift stores and regular buyers all want their slice of the pie so the prices go out of "control". Simple buy and sell Economics 101.
