This is magnificently abstract. As always, in compliment, I am astounded by the task of editing and compiling these collections thematically. It’s not your average time-capsule. It mirthfully represents a New York street-lens on American culture and beyond. I believe the magic of these productions fell brilliantly between the goofy plans of the writers/staff/guests and the candor/chaos of the random individual/guest or audience. It upsets me a bit to feel such an overwhelming nostalgia for quality programming but I’m just thankful to revisit and catch all the shows that I’d missed as well. Amazing effort
That part with Larry Melman and the leaves....stupid and yet I keep watching and laughing. Good Lord, I sometimes forget how much I loved this show. Thanks again, Don.
Don Giller, You don’t know me, but I’m the man, once a kid, who hoped someone was taping this stuff so I could enjoy it again in middle age. Thank you and keep it coming. Perhaps you might try to score an interview with Dave? I’ll bet it would be entertaining to see what he recalls about some of these episodes.
@@dongiller , with that attitude, it may very well be. I have a feeling it'll happen for you. After all, you essentially did a great magnitude of work for them, gratis.
I think Bailey was referring to Brian as "Mike Hanrahan." Although "Cameranan" would have been funnier. The Don Pardo segment was included in a highlight reel that was compiled for Pardo's retirement party.
In every other situation, at least on my channel, NBCU pinpoints passages (start- and end-times) they choose to block. In these recent cases, they blocked the entire video. Here are the victims: Pages 50th Anniversary on Late Night, December 27, 1983 David Letterman on Tomorrow, September 22, 1980 Albert Brooks on Late Night, November 24, 1982 Howard Stern on Late Night, Part 1: 1984 The Arnie Barnes Collection on Late Night, January-September1986 NBC Page Jill Goldstein Collection on Late Night, 1991 I challenged them all via the "fair use" option. NBCU rejected five; I'm still awaiting their decision on the remaining sixth, which is the Arnie Barnes collection. All "manually detected." Which means they'll likely find more to block. I'm just surprised they haven't yet.

I suddenly have the urge to purchase a Buick Skylark.
I suddenly have to kill a guy.
Thank you for the Jack and Donny bit. It’s one of my favorites. I wish those characters would have been explored more at that time.
I love you, Don. Thanks and kisses from Italy

Thanks very much, Sean. I think chatting with Dave about this is a fantasy; it'll never happen.

M Perkins Thanks, but no. A terrible idea. For 1,000 reasons.
The Kenny Rogers fiasco (23:04) had me in stitches! "Since we're selling potatoes out of a station wagon..."
Thanks, Don!
5:40 - June 6, 1989 - Probably the very *first* appearance of Martha Stewart on the TEE-vee!
Love it!!

Dave and Don are the best!
"Just too damned bad we aren't in the televison business!"
It will be a sad day when you've run out of material to upload, until then cheers Don!
Today NBCU blocked six Late Night uploads. I suspect there'll be more, and this will all be for naught.
You're scaring me ahhhh!
You are doing God's work. NBCU can suck my a$$hole.
@@dongiller Is it possible to edit out whatever they find objectionable and repost? Why would they target just those six uploads?

I vow to keep the camera in focus at all times
a “Que Card” pledge (read by Dave) WOULD have been hilarious!!!
Don, I hope you're enjoying a lovely beverage.
Why was the Jill Goldstein vid taken down? Also, is she the same Jill Goldstein from the Real L Word?
NBCU blocked it and five other videos last night. It’s still there; it just can’t be seen. Blame NBCU for this.
@@dongiller Uuurgh that copyright crap is ruining youtube. Well, thanks for the work your doing.
Before viewing at 16:55, have some Dramamine standing by :)
Whoa ... Paul without glasses?!?! 13:12
Holy crap, and here I thought he came out of the womb wearing glasses, all covered in the afterbirth
14:30 the audible groans at Fresh Prince??
Not groans but disappointment.
@@dongiller Was there a hatred for them amongst his audience? Unfortunately I am too young to know these nuances.
They were disappointed that he wasn’t there on the night they were. The opposite of hatred.
didnt jazzy jeff write a song with 'david letterman' in the lyrics? c.1988
jsngallery “Nightmare on My Street” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. Google the lyrics.
Dave was looking fine in 1984!
We had a 1985 Buick Skylark, and it was the worst car they ever made.
