Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash declared that he was a part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In front of judges and bar members during his goodbye speech at the high court, Justice Dash declared that he was "ready to go back to the organization" if they needed his help or for any task that he could complete.

Pre retirement judgements should not be influenced by post retirement aspirations. A Judge immediately after retirement making a statement that he is aligned with a particular political ideology raises questions about his verdicts during his tenure as a judge. Recently, a sitting judge in the Calcutta High Court took early retirement just on the eve of the parliamentary elections and joined the BJP to contest from Contai, Midnapore, W. B. New rules should be passed in the Parliament, where a minimum cooling off period should be imposed in order to eliminate these greedy personals from the judiciary, administration in joining the bandwagon immediately after retirements to reap the post retirement benefits.....
