1:14 i was just about to say that one seens more like a Stalwart class but the hangar deck and engine design are from the charon class indeed. Good eyes! Using charon frigates in space combat is a dumb idea, even the stalwart is more equipped to ship to ship engagements
@@Bruno-G no I think you're right. the detail on the ship's head is Stalwart-Class. Oh and also, only the Stalwart-Class is putting the MAC on the bottom of the ship's head. thank you for telling me i'll revise it right away.

love it and it shows how even though the UNSC was outmatched and outgunned in space they didn't quit or give up hoping to give the people of the planet a fighting chance and the massive titanium of the Stalwart-Class Light Frigate sees a ORS-Class Heavy Cruiser coming at them and goes "I'm going to have you hinged head"
Ya know I was going to say something about that myself but didn't want to seem snobby or hyper critical. Considering that in lore, Covenant vessels have super tough shields. You could have the UNSC be more accurate without it looking off at all, since anything short of a MAC round would barely scratch thier shields.
@@KonfektioneryIndeed. UNSC doctrine would have quickly been written to require a minimal number of simultaneous MAC rounds at the same spot on a single target from multiple ships.

Whenever I see a space vessel use Maneuvering thrusters to change orientation, I give an instant Like. Also obligatory Halo geek vomit; Unless the UNSC had a major numerical advantage, the Covenant always won the battle in space, as is implied here. On the ground however Humanity had a much higher chance of Victory due to guerilla tactics and propensity for strategy more complex than the simple brute force approach the Covenant typically employed. That said, the UNSC only had a chance at Victory if the Covenant wanted to capture/occupy the Planet, and that "Victory" would usually only end up being a prolonged inevitable defeat if the Covenant Fleet in orbit couldn't be repelled.
I think the books explicitly state that the minimum is a 3:1 ratio to even consider the chances of winning a space battle. A lot of the lore is rooted in random math like that given all the AI characters. Which puts Reach into perspective when Humanity had several hundred ships and the Covenant showed up with 600. As for the ground stuff, it was a stroke of genius for whoever was responsible to nail the narrative idea that aliens have essentially zero ground warfare doctrine. They are a combination of random subjugated races who have done no training or drills together and simply rely on numbers and technology. So encountering Humanity, a race essentially developing war doctrines since their stone age leads to some incredible narratives.
@@m4x927 Its something that comes up in later sources. 315 is what attacked Reach directly. The rest was another fleet that went after other colonies and stations in the system.
i have only seen one video from Masaka channel of a gladius corvette on UA-cam. I would love to see that as I use that ship in my head cannon as a perfect "hero" ship for a tv show or game
@brussellstudios actually a few. When the Spartans suit up for the 1st time you can see a few ships under the cat walk. I just wonder where they get the space to fit a few 800 ft long Mac equipped Corvettes
they would have been better off rammiing the covenant ships... Once the UNSC determined covenant shields were too durable... they should have focused on building drone/heavily armored torpedo ships. basically modern versions of fireships...
Covenant ships are also faster. They would adapt to the UNSC trying to ram them by fighting cautiously from a distance. And if they UNSC gave up much of their ranged firepower, they wouldn't be able to punish that.
@@DecidedlyNinja the only real long range weapons the UNSC had going for them for like 1/2 to 2/3 of the first war was their rail guns. Missiles and other weapons fire did low damage on the shields... You're right the convenant ships would have outmaneuvered.... but i remember reading the official halo books years ago and noting how the entire UNSC fleets were massacred with little to no loss on the covenant side... However, fleet strategy remained at building same type ships and stuffing them full of crew..
I've noticed in a few of your videos that a lot of the UNSC vessels' cannon fire is wildly inaccurate. Is there a reason for it? It's the only thing that sort of takes me out of the battle scene. I find it hard to believe that even the lighter UNSC cannons wouldn't be extremely accurate within their engagement ranges. Other than that one nitpick I totally love what you're doing.
