    I think Draco wasn’t really a bad person, but was only raised into having pureblood beliefs by his family. Lucius being a pureblood supremacist, and Narcissa being from the Black family that also had a long tradition of pureblood supremacy, it’s just the environment he was raised in. But to be brutally honest, I also do think Narcissa would have liked to live like her sister (Tonks mother) and just not give a damn about blood purity as long as family is safe and filled with love. I think the way Draco was raised into pureblood supremacy was mostly down to Lucius and pressure from both the Black family and Malfoy family

      @Gaia Mesonero-Perez yep, back when they first started the movies they didn't really have many healthy options as far as bleaching hair went, the stuff they had to use was pretty harsh.
      These days bleaching has gotten a bit easier and we have better ways of combatting breakage/thinning but it's still not that great for your hair because it's literally draining the pigment from the hair itself.
      I believe the twins also had some thinning issues because of having to dye their hair red but not nearly as bad as Tom.
      I agree though, he does look good with platinum blonde hair, it just suits him well.

    • @Sp3c9000
      @Sp3c9000 4 роки тому +11

      @Gaia Mesonero-Perez to be fair, some people's hair can start thinning in their mid-20s and early 30s solely from genetics but in Tom's case it was definitely the years of bleaching.
      Maybe he'll get lucky and hair-regrowth science will continue to advance to be able to help people like him and those with genetic disorders that cause hair loss :)
      I do feel bad for him but I'm also very glad he didn't quit due to his thinning hair, he did an excellent job of bringing Draco Malfoy to life on the big screen from day one even though he was so young starting out.

      @@Sp3c9000 or it could also be that as he ages his total testosterone lowers and his estrogen/dht ratio is out of whack causing hair loss.

    • @Sp3c9000
      @Sp3c9000 3 роки тому +2

      @@kevs2good133 that's not what it was at all, he's mentioned the reason for his hair thinning before, and that kind of thing doesn't affect men as young as him unless they have some type of disorder.
      Sadly if he *did* have a disorder that caused his hair thinning then we would all know by now because people are way too comfortable invading the privacy of celebrities.
      But to reiterate: it was not a disorder or anything like that which caused his hair to thin out, it was over a decade of having to *bleach* his hair, not just color/dye it but actually *bleaching* it.
      For over a decade straight.
      Anyone who's ever bleached their own hair on a regular basis or has worked in a salon can confirm just how badly that process can damage your hair as well as your scalp.

      They are also lucky that a curse like avada kedavra even exists. Who doesn't want a painless death!
      If it existed in real life. The number of suciides would've increased 10 fold!

      I don't know I mean the Malfoys had been Pureblood Elitist for centuries and even if his father hadn't been a Death Eater and hadn't been willing to go beyond the law to see his family's beliefs achieved I still think Draco would have been raised with those Ideals besides you call Lucius a horrible Father however he is as much a product of his upbringing by his Father Abraxes as Draco is by him and so on back through the centuries. While I can't defend Lucius's actions he didn't start the cycle he was simply a cog in the machine who never had anyone there to dislodge him and honestly, that probably is the truth about most Malfoys and other like-minded families from the point in time where the personality was inherent rather than intended.

      And I feel like Draco didn't actually hate the golden trio. He was just jealous of their friendship because somewhere deep within he knew that Crabbe and Goyle weren't his true friends. They wouldn't accept him if he had spoken his mind freely and openly supported anybody who wasn't pureblood.

    Draco Malfoy has failed as a Death Eater because he realized what it means. He has watched how his family was harassed by Voldemort ever since Lucius Malfoy failed with Tom Riddle's diary and the Prophecy. Lucius also didn't look for Voldemort after the Attack on Godric's Hollow. Draco had a big mouth on where everyone belongs but he realized that he would also need to commit horrible things. He has shown that he isn't capable of murder. He grew up with Blood Supremacy beliefts so he didn't know anything else. Draco wanted to live up to the family name and he grew up in this hostile environment. Draco felt self entitled. Draco did commit crimes but he was given a great gift. As he was young enough to make changes.
    I don't believe that Draco would have been a good friend to Harry. I believe that he would have betrayed him. It wouldn't be a genuine friendship as Draco would have told his father everything. Of course before Book 6 events.

I agree that his parents were responsible for that but that doesn't change anything he did those horrible things by himself & maybe if his family was not in danger he would have proudly join Voldemort and maybe after some training even kill someone. The way he behave in hbp was because of his family and maybe it was too early for him to kill also performance pressure.

    The only reason Draco broke was because he and his family were out of favor with Voldemort. If Lucious had gotten the prophecy and all was well on that front he would of been a happy death eater. He was given an impossible task because Voldemort didn’t like him or his family anymore and wanted a reason to kill them. It was only when he and his family were out of favor did he finally decide that he didn’t wanna be a part of it anymore. His whole life he and his family had no problems torturing and killing other people’s kids and families. He had no problems hurting other people both mentally and physically. Only when his family fell out of favor did he think that it wasn’t right. And I don’t even think he really thought that. Voldemort didn’t like his family so if Voldemort would of won then it would of been a lifetime of being scared. It was all for self preservation and it’s why none of the Malfoys IMO were redeemed. A character like Kreacher was redeemed. He came up knowing only one way and was all for that way until someone else showed him kindness and respect and he saw that this was the right side to fight on and then he ACTUALLY fought for his new friends. None of the Malfoys did any of this. They fell out of favor and when their lives were threatened all of a sudden they just stopped fighting so they could save themselves. They were fortunate the good guys were much better people then they were cause they should of all been thrown in Askaban for what they did and lost everything. Instead they cowered their way back to the great hall after the battle to show that they were on the winning...uh I mean good side now....all without fighting. None of that family is redeemed IMO and they should all be in prison.

    From what I understand of the Unforgivable Curses, you have to REALLY mean it in order for them to work. I think even if Draco had cast the curse on Dumbledore, it wouldn’t have worked. He didn’t want to kill Dumbledore, he was backed into a corner. In a way, so was Snape, but there was an agreement in place between Dumbledore and Snape. That, plus the Unbreakable Vow made it impossible for Snape to back out. I think it was a mercy to give Dumbledore an instantaneous, painless death. Draco was never meant to be a Death Eater. He was used as a pawn to hurt his family.

    Draco really wasn't a bad person, it was his father who was bad. Draco just wanted to fulfill his father's dreams and that's a good son. It's just his father who took him to the wrong track. While reading the series and watching the movies, I never hated him, but when I saw that deleted scene where Harry jumps out of Hagrids hand, Draco passes Harry's wand and changes the side. That scene would have been so perfect for the ending to show that Draco was good from inside, it was only his father. And Tom Riddle did a great job on playing the role. I always appreciated him....

    I wonder if after the events of the second Wizarding War, did Draco still hold on to the pure blood ideology that he was raised with or did he begin to see things differently?

    • @user-gt1gs6sc9t
      @user-gt1gs6sc9t 3 роки тому

      he began to see differently, married astoria greengrass who was a pureblood witch who didnt believe in pureblood supremacy, and raised his son not to be prejudiced

    He was a kid forced into dark magic whereas many of Lord Voldemorts followers were adults and had free will over whether they joined which is how it should be if it's something that's going to happen regardless.

      Well, you don't have to know the exact meaning to know, that "mudblood" is not a compliment. Especially, when you pay attention to the way Draco is saying that, adding "filthy".

    Every Hp book was dedicated to a character:
    Book 1: Harry Potter
    Book 2: Tom Riddle
    Book 3: Sirius Black
    Book 4: Barty Crouch jr
    Book 5: Luna Lovegood
    Book 7: Albus Dumbledore
    Book 6 was dedicated to both Severus Snape AND Draco Malloy as both of there characters were constantly wavering between different sides with out a true interpretation of where they truly where at the time before Hp book 7 dark or light.

    I'm just happy Draco raised his own son in a better way than Lucius raised him this showed that Draco truly changed and definitely for the better.
    When Draco officially became a death eater he could talk the talk but he couldn't walk the walk. He was a victim of his father forcing all the pureblood belief's throughout his youth.

    Draco is just a lot like James Potter..James was a bully to Snape and many others and arrogant too due to being heavily pampered by his family..but just as James matured with age, so did Draco.. But it was just too late for Draco to change sides now..he now feared for his life and his family as a dangerous war was going on..and yes, he was a bit of a coward that way..he didn’t have enough courage to fight back and take the right decision fully..but he was not a bad person..and after all he was only 17 years old..and he didn’t have such a huge group of friends and expert guidance like Harry..so he couldn’t be that brave..and thus tried hard to stay loyal to his family
    .but still after the battle of Hogwarts he mended his ways..🖤

    Hello, greeting from Croatia. I was wondering if I may use some of your assumptions (especially what if series) to translate and paraphrase it to my Potterhead friend who doesn't speak english (and yet we have a group of Potterheads from my country and some of them do not speak english) Thanks Beforehand. P.S, your videos theories and asumptions are brilliant (I will mention your channel to my paraphrases, bedsides, I study literature and practice writting a bit, that's why I'm asking .:)

    I believe, There's a difference between Bad and Evil. There's a scope for redemption who are bad but for evil, there's no chance of changing. Draco is Bad. He had a chance and he did change his heart. Voldemort is pure evil. He had no scope for improvement.

    He didn't want it for his reasons he just went along with the flow so when he was truly tested he realized how wrong his entire life view and parents view were are and he couldn't handle it all at same time. He was being human teenager having a very huge moment in his life.

    Oh yeah, I havent seen any commentary on Voldemort's hypocrisy given that he wasn't a pure blood himself. So why didn't he persecute himself. Given his accomplishments in the field of magic should have cast some doubt on the pure blood mania. But I havent seen any one address this yet.
