Hello, this really helped. As I am aiming for fall 2020, I am quite confused if I will need to have a good GRE score along with IELTS 7 score for universities in Netherlands.. I know that Im not very specific about universities but still any help wil be appreciated. :)
Well most universities don't need GRE. You have to check the requirements of that specific program of that university. For example, TU Delft does not need GRE for electrical but needs for Computer Sc. from 2018 onwards! Normally when they need GRE then they mention the range which is mostly between 314 - 320! Normally as a student you can work part time for max 16 hours and work permit is mostly applied by the employer and you should not worry for it if you need it everyone qualified to work easily gets a permit and there is no competition like US. But, I think working 16 hours or doing industrial thesis does not require work permit but again this is taken care by the employer and you should not think at all about it! Good question. As promised before, I will make a separate video series on it soon where I will share the tips and my experiences of applying for a PhD, about PhD interviews, how do you react when you get multiple rejections and other stuff. But, in brief you would need a CGPA > 7.5 during Masters in Netherlands, strong motivation letter, good recommendation from your supervisors, optional group international experience, optional publications, strong CV. So, videos are coming soon!!
Well in Msc., it is a bit hectic. It can be difficult to find time for social activities but if you plan properly as Dutch people normally do then you can definitely utilize the weekends!
