  • This video will show you how to remove the silver trim around the shift knob on a Chevrolet Cruze and this one in particular is a 2012. I did it without any tools, but steady hands.

    I need to replace the shift knob housing on the cruze is it possible to just remove the trim and replace just that piece?

    Thanks for this video. I dropped two or three coins down onto the flimsy plastic part surrounding the gear shifter and they slid down into the area under it. Hope that makes sense. Do you know if this is something to worry about or if it can be accessed? Your video is the closest I've found to figuring out how to access the area, but I'm not sure if that's where the coins went. The gear shift/black trim area still looks sealed off based on this video.

      Cody Jones I wouldn't really worry about it, but if you wanted to get them it would take a little more time and effort to get there. Not entirely sure how to get there though, but I would reference the parts on different sites to see where clips and bolts are. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

      TheKingKrawczyk that doesn’t make any sense I can’t even get my fingers under the spots you go in at... I guess that my problem I’m not fit enough

      @@matthewdinse I wouldn't use a screwdriver because you might scratch up the piece, but something plastic may help you pry it up.

    I know this was years ago but that’s the same issue I’ve got. When that came out of the silver piece, what did you end up doing to fix it?

      Remember like it was yesterday. I had to pull that silver trim piece up to get that gasket resituated. There was no other way that I could find, but that did the trick.

      @@KingKielbasa did you by chance use anything to put that strip that came out back in or what did you do?

    • @KingKielbasa
      @KingKielbasa  3 роки тому

      @@chaseholden3183 I believe it had a sticky back to the gasket so it was just a reposition. No special tools or anything. After the trim piece came up, the gasket moved around easily. Just be careful not rip the silver piece up once you get it up from the console because there was a wire hooked into it if I remember correctly. I sold that car a few years ago after many coolant leaks, head gasket issues, and swapping out a bad turbo. The RS model was fun though.
