  • This isn't a very exciting video but it was fun to see this perspective.
My latest project is building a Northeaster Dory using a kit by Chesapeake Light Craft. The boat needed a trailer so I modified a small trailer from northern tool to hold the 17ft long hull. It tracks behind the Jeep just fine but bumps made the trailer bounce up and down several times after the initial bump in the road. The springs I used are only rated for 250lbs each so they flex easily. I bought a couple of golf cart shock absorbers and fabricated mounts for them on the trailer to see if the axle would calm down. It made a big difference, the trailer settles down much faster after a bump. I don't have the video skills to give you a side by side shot and since the driving wasn't exactly the same it wouldn't stay in sync anyway. Hopefully you can see the difference. I don't know why the audio didn't work but it would just be road noise anyway :)
