As someone said elsewhere on the Krile reveal, nice to see that Krile is getting her chance at art therapy after the trauma conga line she's had through the previous expansions. Being contacted by Hydaelyn, grandfather dying, shunned by her fellow scholars because reasons, kidnapped and experimented on by Garleans, Zenos asking her for permission to go eat the Mothercrystal and kill the WoL - Save. I mean SAVE the WoL - she NEEDS a break just as much as the rest of us!
Dont forget having to tend to the comatose bodies of the Scions for who knows how long in lore, with the scare of death starting in the patch content
Yeah, Krile finally getting promoted to being a major character in Dawntrail is probably the thing I'm most excited about with this expansion. It's about damn time...

I did not expect to be so excited for the Pictomancer job but OH MY LAND I CAN'T WAIT!! And my husband mains a Hroth, whose backstory includes a younger sister who he hoped could appear in the game as a giant lion lady - he cheered SO LOUD! Dawntrail is gonna be awesome!!

@@sennaka Yeah, i had the same thought... it's either a very basic version of the Ancient's creation magic or it could be something similar to Arcanima, where a Summoner is manipulating Aether via geometrical patterns.

Gaaaah, I really wanna get back into FFXIV now after seeing this, Pictomancer looks like so much fun. I main Dancer now but I use a caster in WoW so I'm used to playing some caster classes, I really wanna know more about it.
I saw someone comment this in another video but there needs to be a quest or achievement for pictomancer called "A Relm reborn"
We need something involving Strago, Relm's grandfather, and perhaps Ultros the octopus from FF6.

The Nutkin was what was used to censor Thancred's nuts back in the HW patches. I wonder if this is implying he'll be naked again at some point. lol

Shown up a few times with Thancred involved. Happened again in Shadowbringers. The little guys job is to preserve Thancred’s dignity it seems lol.

That and they are not going to age the twins,. They're all in a time bubble, quite on purpose.

The reason they're focusing on the Nutkin is because we're looking for the golden city in this expansion, and if you open up your minions and read the Nutkin description, he's been looking for his golden acorn. "Inspired by the words of Millith Ironheart, this daring squirrel longs to travel the realm in search of the legendary golden acorn, and hopes that trailing in your shadow will ensure that he isn't eaten before he discovers the mother lode."

Pictomancer might be the first time I actually don't go straight into the new expansion, and level up one of the new classes first. Also, $10 says that we're gonna be going into that big ravine below that bridge eventually.

I hope pictomancer is fun. I love playing mages but none of the magic classes seem to click ever since they reworked summoner so I was really hoping for a ranged magic class for this expansion.
To be fair, that was almost exactly my reaction too. THE LION LADIES ARE REAL!!!
All this new stuff makes me wish i had a laptop with the specs/space for the new expansion. Id resigned myself to quitting but it's getting harder, seeing all the new stuff I'm gonna miss out on

How much you bet due to how a lot of Vocal people saying they hate Pictomancer because it is too cartoony and not serious enough in a Serious Game like Final Fantasy 14 that they end up releasing a new Job next expansion that is very serious and edgy in personality. :p
Watch them make a SOLDIER Job and based it on Zack and Cloud with it being a Tank Job so they can have a serious job with a depressing Job storyline.

It has been awhile since we last saw Nutkin. Looks like he maybe more involved in Thancred's life now. A rather nice development considering how their relationship started out.

That aside, I still feel this expansion was a missed opportunity to release a Sword and Gun DPS job and called it Corsair. It is the beginning of a more Adventurer theme storyline for WoL setting the stage for future adventures about exploring the unknown acoss the ocean in the New World. However, considering the focus on new Jobs based on FF characters rathers than base FF jobs or newly created jobs, I feel this maybe the beginning for more focus on releasing Jobs each expansion based on a FF character instead.
We got the Squall/Seifer/Lightning Job in Shadowbringer as Gunbreaker, then we got Scythe Dark Knight revived as Reaper in Endwalker, and now we got the Zidane Job as Viper with Relm Job as Pictomancer. I wonder if they maybe considering a Wakka Job so we can have a Blitzballer Job.

Ninja - Edge/Shadow

So it's exactly a new concept. Merely a revisited one.
And I'm fine without Corsair. Viper is also a better fit for Scouting gear.
@@KrimsonKB I am referring more towards Jobs that have less links to a Base Class/Job and more created as a result for them to be unique to a individual character.
PLD, MCH, Ninja, Dragoon, and etc are getting more skills and design based on characters related to the job but they follow more towards their assigned Based Job theme for those characters that have been iconic for these jobs through multiple FF games.
However, new jobs like Pictomancer is going more towards someone like Relm which had a unique type of job not commonly used in other FF games since it was designed specifically for her in a very specific FF game. Similar situation with Gunbreaker being that the Gunblade Job was handle differently in the games that used the Gunblade job so it is more unique to their character.

I've played all three heavily at various points, and quite like it! It's more story focused than the other two, and has a very theme park vibe of "something for everyone to enjoy". The devs encourage NOT being on constantly too, which is nice - it feels good to come back from a break as we approach the expansion. :)
Poke me if you'd like more detail on anything, I'd be happy to answer. The best way to know if it's your kind of game is to give it a shot, though. So...

Pictomancer is a complete style breaker. One thing to have that class why not (it wil be streamlined like the rest...), but the style doesn't fit at all, it's like a complerely diffrent game being mixed in. It's one thing to have such effect as part of the UI, but as IG effects?
It fits just fine.
We don't know the lore of this Job until release.
Also? This Job was in Final Fantasy 6 and Bravely Default.
People need to quit acting like this Job has never existed in Final Fantasy.
Also SE could easily give us glams for the job skills.
