  • We drive the Aston Martin DB9 GT, a gorgeous grand tourer with an endangered species under the bonnet: a naturally-aspirated V12.

      Good for you! My dream is a V12 Vantage S, DB9, or a Vanquish. Any work 😂

      Bought my first Aston nearly 3 months ago. A stretched DB9, aka Rapide S. Same engine but with 550hp of naturally aspirated awesomeness! He's right in what he says at the end, "there's nothing quite so special as an Aston"!

      I sincerely hope your enjoying it. I bought mine in September this year for my 50th birthday present to myself and I’m so enjoying it. It’s my one and only dream car and it’s a nice feeling to own it

    Agree with Typlo8, the most beautiful car Aston have made. Had a tour of the Aston factory and the guy showing us round said the 6L V12 was the best engine Aston have ever produced. I thought he was going to cry when he explained no more will be made! This car will increase in value over the next ten years and, eventually, will be up there with the DB5.

    Was lucky to pick one of these GTs up with only 500 miles on the clock, and one of only 3 coupes produced in red. It's just awesome. Life is complete.

      Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, but I think the proportions are even more balanced in the Rapide.

    I have a navy blue 2009, it turns heads even now. I’ll never not have an Aston Martin. It’s class, comfort, beautifully designed, and I’ve never driven another production car that sounds like this. Even younger kids love this when I drive by, and they to tend to love new supras and other drift cars more.

    The engine is not 2 Ford Duratec engines bolted together. Check the tech spec on the engine and the Wiki write up and you will see it is a purpose build engine designed and built for Aston Martin.

    Man, I am glad that I took the chance to finally make my dream come true. Just bought a 2007 DB9 Coupé yesterday before it is too late and this kind of car dies forever.

      They sure as hell don't make these kind of cars any more! Naturally aspirated engine, hydraulic steering. I've got the Rapide S, and a Z4 M Coupe. The best of both worlds, GT and sports car 😊

    I absolutely agree with what this reviewer says at the end - "When this car and this engine go out of production it will be a sad day indeed". I just found out that the DB9 has gone out of production now that the DB11 has be introduced and the only naturally aspirated V12 left is the Vanquish. Bummer! Before the DB9 and the Vanquish, Aston Martin had mediocre design. Their designs looked very similar to Jaguar (I always wonder who coped who - Jaguar or Aston Martin). Then they nailed classy design with the DB9 and the Vanquish. But now they have taken a step back with the pudgy back end design of the DB11 (although they have nailed the interior design of the DB11. It is a MAJOR step up from the DB9 and Vanquish).
    I have spent time in front of the DB9 and the Vanquish comparing the two designs from every angle and I have come to the conclusion that although both cars have an absolutely elegant design, the DB9 has a slightly more handsome and classy design than the Vanquish. I find that the headlights and the back end are slightly more elegant than the Vanquish in my opinion. So the dilemma is do I go for a second hand DB9 or a new Vanquish? The upside with a second hand DB9 is that its a great deal cheaper than a Vanquish and the upside of a Vanquish is more power and performance than a DB9.

    • @Happymali10
      @Happymali10 8 років тому

      RcCadTeam Yes.
      It's less plastic than there is on other AMs, but still quite some.

    • @aston-martin-internationalist
      @aston-martin-internationalist 4 роки тому

      Less plastic? Have you seen under the bonnet of the VH series Vantage V8 and EVERY car prior? There's almost no plastic at all, everything is exposed. All pre-AMG engines Astons are like this. There are no big plastic covers on anything.

  • @100vasiliy

    it's sad but, the car is kinda slow next to it's rivals

    • @Happymali10
      @Happymali10 9 років тому +4

      +100vasiliy Maybe because it never was designed to win the Vmax-battle.
      It seems to be intended more for relaxed long-range travel than short high-speed runs.

    Being in your position, I suggest it would be better to do some research before presenting the information, else it would be misleading on people who rely on you for accurate information.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Martin_V12_engine
    The engine is NOT two Ford Duratec V6s welded together.
