I’ve been checking out the east coast in my small Volkswagen Caddy. It’s a little camper but I need more room. I’m looking at a small caravan today to tow with my Caddy. It’ll free up space in my van and I can leave a caravan anywhere whilst I use my van for work whist travelling. I want to do this full time. I have a home to return to which is awesome. Go home now and then to reorganise my caravan and van. Awesome. I can’t wait to go again.

I’m trying to convince my hubby to do the same 😃We are in our fifties , have a small van and love our getaway’s but it’s never enough for me 😂 Fingers crossed we can do similar one day 🤞
Hi Michelle great to hear you enjoy the video 😊 yeah we felt the same with our getaways, they alway seem too short. Hopefully you can find a way to extend your time on the road 😉 Cheers Paul and Wenda
Yes the front bedroom and centre onsweets , then slide door shut very private if someone is crook or needs a sleep in , the lounge and kitchen is the second room , it's like a one bedroom apartment on wheels , great when the other half's needs to stay in bed they got access to dunny or shower , and if you entertaining guests in the lounge it's all good ,
You said you had 200 amp lithium with a compressor fridge. This is the same as us. We would be lucky to get two days of power if we couldn’t get any solar. How does your set up go?
Yeah we are the same, we struggle to get 2 days out of it unless we are in direct sunlight all day. We have a generator which we have used a few times and more recently received a portable 100 AH battery which can top up the van battery. I think given our time again and we would've got at least a 300 ah battery

Thank you 😊 That’s very exciting it is a great lifestyle Yes it’s off road but we wouldn’t be doing 4wd tracks with it. We have taken the van on some pretty rough roads. The main difference is the independent suspension and heavier chassis. We did a video on the van a little while ago Cheers Paul and Wenda
Great video, loved all the info. Do you both share the driving, and do you recommend a caravanning tow course for newbies. Take care and keep enjoying the good life
Thank you 😊 Paul tends to do the towing but that’s just personal choice rather than capability. We were booked in for a towing course when Covid hit and it got canceled but we were committed to van life by then so had to just go for it. We feel comfortable towing now but would have preferred to have done the course. We have towed trailers and campervans previously so it wasn’t too bad. Cheers Paul and Wenda
Hi guys, and again thanks for very informative video…Question, I see you have a generator box on the van, and assume you carry a gen set… How often do you use it..? Also I liked your comment on taking the tinnie with you (if you had one) As I am tossing and turning if to take mine… A lot of people say you will never take it of the car, others say, they are glad they took there’s…etc etc…. It’s a hard call for me to decide….
Thanks Kevin yes we have a 2400w generator we only used it a handful of times over 3 years. We thought we would do more free camping. But when you only do 1 or 2 nights here and there you don’t have as much need. But it is good to have when we needed it. Solar doesn’t run the air con. As for the tinnie, we had bikes on the rack in front of the van and again only used them a few times. They just sat there getting rusty so we got rid of them. I think it would be similar with a tinnie (for us). Cheers Paul and Wenda
