As a former STRAIGHT male flight attendant I can tell you that you can check just about anything. Your HPA tank will need to be taken apart, but your marker and gear should be fine as long as you check your bag. DO NOT bring a paintball gun in your carry-on bag unless you want to get extra special attention from the TSA.
Gotta say that you guys have the greatest timing ever. I'm gonna fly with my gear in a month and really wanted to know how to do this,
You guys should sell that custom made removing tool.
FR I've got a vice lol
Non Guerrilla and Ninja regs should be locktited. Guerrilla and Ninja regs can be hand tightened. NOT finger tight, if you have girly arms, get someone else to tighten it down for you. - Erik
I am totaly making one of those tools come monday. Thanks for the idea.
I think we who are a bit handy could make that removal tool using a half inch socket of the correct size. Starting with a 12 point and using some drills and an angle grinder/moto tool to make the slots.
Glad we could help!
-Jason
We have it on our list and will be doing that video soon!
-Jason
pretty sure if you find the right socket, you could use a cutting wheel to knotch out the socket to make a tool pretty "easy" i cut a socket to make a wrench for black powder gun tool. might be wrong, if the milled tool has special knotches inside.
That is a good idea if you only use it for that, however we need the block for larger items sometimes. Also, wood is cheap and easily replaceable. It's a sweet idea, just not useful for us in the application. We do it often enough that we got the tools made :). - Trevor
Are you talking about the reg removal tool? We never sold those :(
-Dan
It is indeed a perfectly safe way to do it. However, if you are feeling at all nervous you should take your tank to your local proshop and have them do it. Safety first!
-Dan
lol i forgot i was subscribed to you guys. i just bought the Brest cancer tank from you on ebay.
Custom work, with steel, doesn't come cheap. They each cost more than the tanks themselves -Ethan
Cromer does have a lot of piercings! You are right, you could send the tank to the manufacturer.
-Jason
You guys should sell those reg. removers
If you've got the ability to do so, go for it :D
We're selling them at a fair price, considering custom machined tools are NOT cheap :(
-Dan
Oh absolutely! If i was a awesome paintballer and flew to events like a boss, I would probably take it off, go to the event, shoot faces, and before I leave the event, have Ninja/GA take it off for me, then fly home. - Cromer
An I idea for the wood. Put a piano hinge on the bottom and a latch on the top so after u out the tank in u can latch it so u don't have to hold three things with one hand
I used to have many more : ) but as i get older i keep taking a few out. But your absolutely correct, you should just send the entire tank in to get serviced. That method is waayy easier. - Cromer
For your convenience, I have skipped the first step!
You only really need this tool when you take apart 20+ tanks in a day. For a simple reg removal once a year IF THAT, you don't need to. Just because you all know know how to remove the reg, doesn't mean you should. In two years I've never needed to take mine off - this is normal. Taking off your regulator is extremely rare. We do it because we ship internationally and/or someone needs us to look at it. One of those things... For how much these cost you can buy a new tank lol
-Russell
If the reg has lock tight it will just be a little harder to remove. If you remove your reg do not put lock tight back on it.
-Jason
Search "98" in our videos. We have videos on both cyclone and response trigger installations on our channel - Cromer
Righteous!!!
-Russell
how do you put a cyclone feed system and response trigger on a 98 custom
We removed them with standard sockets - Cromer
I would hope there isn't someone out there to enable such a situation to get oil in their bottle. If im taking off my reg and say.... traveling to a PSP event or something. I would stuff the opening with a microfiber, cover the opening with plastic, then rubber band it. If i ever had oil or even questioned the possibility of it getting in my bottle, I would probably use dish soap and or simple green with hot water. After that, some isopropyl to get the rest of the water out. - Cromer
Good idea! that'd be an awesome thing to bring to market!
-Dan
You should sell that costume tool in your site! Its brilliant!
Its actually longer than the Luxfer made GA 70/45. The 70/45 in this video is the new 70/45. - Cromer
how did you remove the fill nipple and gauge i cant get mine off?
I got a seperat tan and regulator for Christmas, can i just screw the reg in with my hands without having to go to my local store?
you sould do one on how to travel with your paintball gun and gear
We cost us $300 bucks. We can get them made for you if you want. We really aren't "selling them" but if you really want one we can have the machine shop make one for you. - Cromer
So you don't have to use loctite to seal your reg to your tank after taking it off for hydro testing? I'm afraid it'll fly off when pressurized. Are you sure just hand tightening it won't be enough? I just want to be sure. Thanks!
The custom one is not a socket. However, the one that IS a socket is 15/16"
-Dan
Yeah, apparently Cromer has a hard on for one as well. I don't think there has been a week that has gone by that he hasn't asked the office if he should get one or not. LOL
I've heard other people say use locktite and stuff like that when putting the reg back on. Don't need anything right? Just hand tighten ?
Seriously, I'd buy that tool if you made it available.
Does the 4500 psi regulator have a smaller orifice since it’s under more psi to obtain, say 800 psi to the gun than a 3000 psi tank would or is the only difference the burst disks? Thanks
Yes, snug it up with your hands. - Cromer
Thank you very much
Just What I'm looking for! Thanks!
$9.99.... It reminds me of an o2 sensor socket for cars and I paid about $10-12 for mine if I remember correctly so I'd be willing to pay about that. This is one of those special tools you will use 1 or 2 times in your life and then if will forever sit in your toolbox but it is nice to have said tools lol
Complete paintball newb here so sorry for the newb question.
I bought a Azodin Kaos 2 which I've come to find out was maybe a poor choice.
So far I've fired about 100 paintballs through it so far without any apparent leaks or issues.
My concern is I thought the foregrip on the Kaos 2 was a regulator so I just ran a 3000psi CO2 tank directly.
Was I wrong? Is this a bad idea?
Thank you so much. You're the greatest thing that ever hapend to me
So I won't need to add tephlon tape or anything like that air pressure will do the job? I've never needed to take a reg off my tank
Hey. Could you guys do a quick review on the new GEO bolt made by exalt? Thanks!
Since I got a similar vice that y'all have could I just put the reg in the section met for working with pipe or tubing?
I suppose you could. But I would be very careful, the reason why we used wood and not a section of pipe because it could scratch the reg and mar it up. just be careful - Cromer
Your link to the product is broken.
anyone know where to a tool like this now? i can't find it on the "hustlepaintball" site.
The reg removal tool that we sell will not work on the Myth3. - Erik
This is very helpful thanks guys
on at the same time on the same gun
just gonna make one
Hahaha "...Lets go back to the warehouse, and freeze my ASS off."
and i just got a slp reg and can you just take the top of the reg and change that or does it have to be the whole reg off to make the tank low pressure
How much for u to sell one of those tank secures
Please could you tell me if this will fit on a Guerilla style regulator of both styles?
Well if you have to take the reg off for air travel, and then you put it back on at your destination, you will have to take it off again to come back home... just sayin... this tool looks easier to lug around than blocks of wood and a table vise
What do you mean by "of both styles"?
-Dan
How much would that cost?
My local proshop is about 40 miles away would I be able to take my tank to the fire department and have them do it because they will do hydrotests on air tanks or take it to a scuba shop?
Excellent vid. Really clear & intuitive. Can you produce & sell the reg removal tool. Ther is no such thing on market specially UK where I from. I would luv to purchase one two or three from you?
No problem! :D
-Dan
If we decide to sell it we might! :D
-Dan
hey hustle paintball, just wondering could you take the reg off on a ninja grey ghost 68/4500 by using a vice or something,or u have to send it to Ninja?
Sorry! i meant the new Myth 3 regulator with recessed bust discs?
webpage can not be found
You guys should patent those tools and sell them!
You should sell those tools to remove the reg!
This is free, shipping is not? If you go to events yearly this is a piece of cake :D
-Russell
so I use my vice at home, fly to a tournament fill back up with air, now I need to find a vice somewhere to unscrew? I live in Alaska so if I would go anywhere a plane would be involved.
i believe after you break it free its easy
Would it be a bad idea to wash out the inside of my tank? Like, with water?
***** Potentially... Any moisture in there is likely to end up in your solenoid and really ruin your marker, and depending on what kind of tank you have, you may run the risk of rust. I can't imagine why the inside of a tank would need cleaning, so you might be better off not fixing it if it ain't broke. - AJ
does this work on any tank
What is the best was to empty the bottle if its around 2000 psi??
I always remove one end of my macroline and slowly turn my ASA on with a rag covering the open end. That won't work for everyone though...perhaps you could use a remote coil instead? Or dry fire the marker?
-Dan
Hustle Paintball Hmm, ok. Maybe I could put that broken remote line to good use. Thanks!! ^_^
But I thought dry firing was bad for the gun?
ILOVEHELLOKiTTY85 Well it really depends on which marker. =)
-Caleb
Hustle Paintball An Axe or a Alpha Black? The only two I have.
ILOVEHELLOKiTTY85 You can dry fire either of them. But I'd definitely recommend using the UFA since you have one!
-Dan
Thanks dude!
What can I do if there's still air in the tank? Because I filled the tank and there was no air coming out of it.
You will need to vent the tank - a remote coil works great, an ASA works as well. It will be loud but those are the safest ways to vent a tank. - Jeff
Im getting one too!
Do you guys sell those custom drill things?
its alot easier shipping your tank :/ why go through all this trouble when fedex or ups is just down the road??
Maybe you should produce this adapters and sell them?
We've come out with one :) Check it out on our website! It's certainly not $9.99 though.
-Dan
I will tell Cromer right meow!
-Russell
Why do you no longer sell this tool
That number is not within 50 of the correct answer, so I cannot confirm nor deny it :-P
-Ethan
Yes it was :)
which tank do you have? And Most likely, yes - Cromer
Sould this work if the reg is locktited on the bottle
Marcellus Muller YEA THIS WORKS I GOT THE WOOD SETUP MY SELF
Unless you fly a lot : )
So we just need to tight it by hand after? It won't come loose or anything? Or should I ask a guy in my team to do it for me (it will be tighter with their muscle compare to mine!)
I'd strongly recommend using the regulator removal tool. But you CAN put the reg on without one. It just isn't as safe :(
-Dan
Ok, thanks!
I know you don't want to get anything in your tank. (especially oils) What would best be used to "wash out" the tank that has been exposed with no regulator on it? rubbing alcohol
?
U use them silicon packs u get with new products put a few inside and tape the top shut lol 😂
Once reg is taken off no problem anything getting in and the packs keep the moisture out
nice video
One word... Drake!
is it possiable to switch the fill nipple and the guage on that ninja tank? because for my tank ninja perfectly made it so that the fill nipple is nicely jabbing my wrist when i play and i just cant handle it anymore.
It is not possible :( However, we DO sell something called a Pro V2 Regulator. That will allow you to rotate the tank reg! There are also clips that you can use. Give us a call at 877-298-8188 and we'll get you sorted out :)
-Dan
How much would you pay for one?
-Dan
I took off my reg and a bunch of saw dust from a shelf in my shed fell into the tank because I bumped into the shelf trying to cranky he thing off.
wtf man just shake it out
u should start selling those metal pieces
