Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is 10x more fun than the last five Marvel films and all three Disney Star Wars sequels. I would argue that the first 45 minute of KOTCS is more engaging than the first 45 minutes of Temple Of Doom (not saying it's a better movie overall).
Whenever a director says they're making a movie purely for the fans, that's a warning sign. This movie lacked passion, care and creativity. In many ways, it was a more a reunion for the cast and crew than an attempt to make a great movie.

So it came to no surprise to me that he didn't want to do Indiana Jones 5 and handed it off to James Mangold. That was always his plan. Unfortunately this has been twisted or co-opted by people on the internet into "The movie sucks so he doesn't want to direct it". Not only was it always his plan to not direct Indiana Jones 5, COVID delays meant that filming would coincide with his planned break. So he was never going to direct it anyway.

Jesus Christ came into this world to reach those who feel that nobody cares. The Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him. The Lord Jesus Christ does care and He is reaching the lonely and the desperate, the confused and the hurt, the depressed and the disillusioned. Jesus Christ is reaching out to you.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom 5:8
As we turn away from our sin and turn to Christ we find forgiveness and freedom.
Jesus Christ is a Friend to the friendless.
He is a Helper to the helpless.
He gives freedom to the addicts.
He loves the unloved.
He accepts the outcasts.
He changes the unchangeable.
He forgives the unforgivable.
He accomplishes the impossible.
He saves sinners.
He seeks the lost.
He gives direction to the aimless.
He gives hope to the disillusioned.
He gives Truth to the confused.
He gives joy to the depressed.
He gives purpose to the purposeless.
He gives hope to the hopeless.
That's how bad the movie title was. He couldn't even say it.

- CGI rodents
- Tarzan scene
- more CGI rodents
- the treatment of Indy the entire movie by his family as if he was some insignificant pushover
- Sidekick old dude that we know nothing of, changing sides 5x times in a movie, about whom we are supposed to somehow care at the end
- Scenes just switching, bearing zero relevance and zero purpose
Clearly Spielberg was out of his business for far too long prior to this movie.
After watching Dial of Destiny. Crystal Skull is better
