- he historic center of Mexico City is the central city neighborhood. The area is focused on the Zócalo (or main plaza) and extends in all directions for several blocks. The Zocalo is the largest plaza in Latin America and can hold up to nearly 100,000 people. We saw that firsthand as we arrived at our hotel the historical Gran Hotel that sits on the Zocalo plaza. That stained glass ceiling at the hotel is amazing. I love that terrace restaurant on top of the hotel. And the way the hotel is lit up at night is really cool too. The cathedral lit up at night is wonderful too. I enjoyed seeing yall explor the historic center of Mexico City!

The center area definitely looks magnificent. It's a bit sad though that some of it is built over Aztec ruins. There's definitely a lot to appreciate here. Beautiful to see it at night, too.

How was the water situation at the Hotel? I keep hearing there is a water shortage.
We didn't have any issues at all. We stayed in two different hotels.
