Am i weird for considering the wood plank print one of the best prints lego has done so far? It just adds so much to the piece IMHO.

I think of The Goonies when I look at build #2 and just this set in general reminds me of The Goonies.
Jang I'm surprised you didn't mention that the small Skull Cove isn't an homage to older Pirate sets like 6264 or 6279. I feel like this set is a home run with regards to respecting the glory days of the 90s.

Just built this yesterday as the treehouse. It's much better than expected and cute as a button. Worth getting for sure.
I really like this set...it is a treehouse, so therefore it doesn’t need a lot of interior or really exterior detail to look convincing in any layout. Not sure if that makes any sense. But I do think this would be a great companion set to the Pirate Roller Coaster set.
Wish I’d had that treehouse growing up! I really love the treehouse part of the set. Looks like the perfect set for a park. The secondary builds were disappointing sadly. But worth it for the main build.
fun looking set, looks like it would fit well with the 31053-1 and/or 31010-1 tree houses, so you could either create an entire endor style treehouse network, or build them all into one massive treehouse!

I think LEGO should have made the sword red or blue as those are generic foam sword colors.

I think the 2nd and the 3rd are about what the kids can do with their imaginations and the 1st. The 1st has a buried treasure like the 3rd, and the 1st has a pirate ship like the 2nd.
I actually like all three builds. They are really cool. Great set.

Why has Lego released so many sets that hint to the Pirate theme? Do you think they will bring out a non-licenced pirate sets soon?
LostWhits They may be testing the waters to gage interest in pirate related stuff before they commit to a new wave of pirates sets. Or it may just be that they have a large number of pirates themes parts in the inventory that they want to keep in circulation. Plus its a very common theme for amusment parks and kids play so its easy to add as a theme to things like this.
Nexo knights ended so i wonder whats next as far as space/knight/pirate themes can go.
Woah! And in this set, they use a black technic 1 x 2 pin! It’s not red!

Price per part going up even with creator. That line was my last hope for a holdout on better pricing.
It's all over the place lately. The Harry Potter sets have been good value-wise despite being a licensed theme so who knows...
Still much better then movie themes, and I often see creator sets on good Sales online (Europe)
