Royal Albatross ~ Chick Chatter & Skycalls! QT Answers Back To Neighbor 🐦🐦 8.27.22

- In the opening footage, Miss QT sees a parent arriving on the hill to the right and she does one of her best skycall greetings! 🐦 ♫ She has such a beautiful voice!
At the end of the day, we see QT on her nest with a gull to her right and a chick in the distance to the right. The chick will walk down the track - it is either TBT or BT chick. QT will start some chick chatter at 2:36 and the neighbor chick will answer her with two skycalls at 2:43. Then QT answers her neighbor back with a lovely skycall at 3:04. It is interesting to hear the pitch differences in the neighbor chick's skycalls - a little softer with a ripple trill while QT has her full range and adult sounding pitch very much like OGK. QT has the best skycall's next to her daddy. Everytime I hear QT skycall it melts my heart and puts a smile on my face. Thanks so much LH:)

QT began her skycalling at a very early age - it's been perfect for months thanks to her great dad OGK - I still hope and pray he'll return before QT fledges.
She looks around very sure of herself - "I got this" - she's skycalling for all to hear :)

s "meeting place;" and it must be BT that chattered/skycalled back-and-forth with QT in this video. Just think, they all have only a couple of weeks or so to socialize as chicks, and then they will be off to explore their world along the New Zealand coast for a couple more weeks - and Then ....off to South America they will soar! They have Big lives to live!
