3 Things That Helped Me Achieve Wealth:
    1. I stopped telling myself, "I’ll do it tomorrow."
    2. I started watching motivational videos.
    3. I read a book called The Gilded Nexus of Prosperity

Best way to save money as a parent: from ages 0-4, I get just about every Christmas present for my little kids from a thrift store, Facebook Marketplace, or a wholesale store 😂 they really don't know the difference. Another holiday hack is instead of buying crazy presents for family and friends, I baked brownies and cookies with my 5 yr old and wrote Christmas cards. This honestly was much, much more meaningful than a Costco box of Almond Rocad with a bow on top.... And yes I got the baking goods on sale 😅😅

Why Money doesn’t like staying in a poor person’s house too long? Because The moment it gets there, the stove breaks, the car needs a new tire, or the kids need school supplies. It’s like money looks around and says, ‘Nope, too many problems here,’ and just leaves!

Happy New Year! I have several Casio G Shocks, but not one with a calculator. My grandparents lived through the Depression and were very frugal because of it. We had drawers of rubber bands, string and napkins from various places. They reused containers as Tupperware and never tossed old newspapers. We collected and recycled cans. As a kid, I always earned money by sweeping, cleaning, painting, tiling, plumbing and home repairs. My grandfather would pay me $2 an hour for my services. It never dawned on me as a kid that the buildings that I was working on were his rental apartments. I grew up in a single parent household on welfare. My grandparents took me in because my mother could not afford to raise me. When I reached high school, I realized that my grandparents owned all of the buildings that I had been maintaining over the years. They were actually worth over $30 million. Their frugality has passed down to me in my daily life. I earn in the top 5% yet am always looking for a bargain. I love thrifting and finding new ways to save.

Thanks for the pointers. I continuously learn and read to better myself to be the go to person. I have a Rain garden and cut the little grass I have with a push mower. I ride my bike to do all my shopping and hang my clothes outside to dry. Also, garbage is composted and recycled. No need to have it picked up. Extensively insulated my home and installed triple pane windows. Do not water anything and have water saving devices on all plumbing. One neighbor says there is nobody cheaper than me. The other neighbors say I’m rich and living a totally green lifestyle with no green washing. We get great exercise with date nights and take physically active vacations. Now I have rental property.

Trading on a demo account can definitely feel similar to the real market, but there are some differences. It's important to remember that trading involves risks and it's normal to face looses sometimes. One piece of advice is to start small and gradually increase your investments as you gain more experience and confidence. It might also be helpful to seek guidance from experienced traders or do some research on different trading strategies

Best way to save money is: Don't buy crap you don't need.
But also, when you do buy something, buy good quality. And make a budget every year and review your spending from last year (there are apps that can help you with that). It will open your eyes to what you're actually spending your money on.

Saving for retirement has become increasingly difficult due to low-paying jobs, rising inflation, and high rents, making it harder for workers to build a financial cushion. Even middle-class individuals are struggling to afford homes, leaving them without a secure place to retire.

The soaring cost of living has disrupted my retirement plans. I had initially planned to retire at 62, work part-time, and continue saving, but now I’m uncertain if that goal is realistic. It makes me question whether navigating the 2008 financial crisis was easier than dealing with today’s challenges. The combination of stock market fluctuations and reduced income is causing me significant anxiety about securing enough for retirement.

Here’s my unique saving money trick. This is for people who have automatic deductions from subscriptions, but have lost track of everything they have subscribed to. Call the bank and tell them you have lost your card, the same card you used to subscribe to everything. That will stop all the surprise deductions. Then each company will eventually email you telling you that you need to update your form of payment. At that time you can either cancel your subscription or give the company your new card.

When I first started out in the workforce, I decided to set up automatic investments. I was not making a lot. This required me to forego some of the common luxuries that my co-workers had. One day a co-worked asked if I was going to watch a particular program. I informed him I did not have cable TV and could only watch 3 channels. He looked at me with the craziest expression and asked me how I could live without cable. I informed him it was not the priority. Fast forward 30 years and I only work because I want to. Debt free with a comfortable next egg that I probably will never spend. Oh, and I eventually got cable, then cut the cord and went to streaming. I can now do what I want...

exactly this idea that wealthy people aren't buying expensive things is false. I don't really care for the "what rich people do" and "what poor people do" neither group is monolith people poor and rich are doing many different things with the money they have.

THANK YOU for approaching this topic. I get so tired of seeing people spending to impress.
I grew up in a desolate oil town in Central California. Yes, there were some very poor folks but there were also oil barons. The thing is, if you walked into a cafe, you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. They dressed in the same faded clothing and kept their conversations humble. The oil barons dressed their children in simple, modest outfits. They did this because they didn’t want them kidnapped. I learned a lot from those old men.

The best money value Casio is the W218H. It looks like the classic G-Shock square but only cost $12 at Walmart. It has bigger numbers than the G-Shock. The buttons are easier to press and change functions. It has time, stopwatch, alarm, and countdown timer. Plus a light. The battery last 10 years. I also like that it comes in different colors, black, blue, green, orange, pink, and white.

Sell, wait and Keep Your wallet happy! 😆
A great way to save money is by selling items you no longer need before buying new ones. This helps declutter your space and allows you to use the money from your sales to fund new purchases, making them more intentional. Another effective strategy is the 24-hour rule, where you wait a full day before purchasing anything non-essential. This pause helps you evaluate whether the item is truly needed or just an impulse, preventing unnecessary spending and encouraging more thoughtful buying habits.

I use my plant lights to illuminate spaces. Brighter than a night light and less bright than a lamp or ceiling fixture. Most have dimmers. Also, i use water from the dehumidifier to water house plants. Simply pour into a few gallon repurposed water jugs which will also morph into mini greenhouses in a few weeks.

Best way to save money, specifically if you have young kids - take over used toys from friends. My friend gave us a bag of her kid's old paw patrol toys and I gave it to my toddlers for Christmas. Didn't spend a dime on Christmas gifts and they were ecstatic. Plus I helped a friend declutter. Win win.

my approach is to being frugal is when buying things i want i always go for the cheapest option first, this does 2 things, 1 ensure i maximise the use and life span of the product, 2 lets me find out if i need a slightly more expensive product and repeat the cycle until i don't need to use it anymore. example i have a couch that was from the junk yard sale set worth $60, and i maximised the use of it until we moved, the now couch set is worth $80 had this couch set for year, best investment in furniture ever

When I was young , my dad greeted a friend of his , he was in a rusty old beat up cortina , jeans and grandad jumper ... after 5 min saying hi, my dad turned and laughed n said scruff bag isn't he... then said, you wouldn't believe he is a multi millionair scrap dealer
Yet someone related to my dad , who was also an antiques dealer , found an item at a boot fair for £5 ... it sold at i think christies or sotherbys for a few million ... bought a stately home, drove a huge rolls Royce, owned a private helecopter he landed in my dads field and had gold literally dripping off his fingers and wrists , bought himself a title , barron i think ... wich i admit was off putting even for me at 16.
The contrast is stunning , but I will admit , the rich one , gave an uncomfortable feeling ... like an awkward aura ... unlike the scrap dealer who was just like any guy you would chat too.
So i can see how rich aesthetic repells and visa versa
Rich guy ... his millions based on luck (fake income) bought a fake title , had to prove his status ...
Mega rich guy... genuinely worked for his wealth , yet didn't even seem to own a comb 😅
I also wonder wich one is likely to get mugged or robbed .

4:10 i've tried to explain this to people, if you're struggling financially, and someone gives you $1 million you'll be happy but eventually you'll adapt, getting used to it! If someone gave you $1 billion, again you'll be happy. Eventually, you get used to it! Hence why people often want something they don't have or imagine a life that is different from their own. Thinking that would solve all of the problems. When in reality, you'll get used to it! The grass isn't greener on the other side, just a different shade!

When i was young(and dumb) i told myself i have to be successful in life because i like expensive shit, i started working and saving towards dumb stuff, somehow it actually motivated me, many years later, I taught myself how to really save money but my goals have obviously shifted, i never actually bought anything dumb but still taught myself to earn more income along the way with my silly start, better to be motivated by something than by nothing
